Best Ryokan ever”
My girlfriend and I stayed for one night. It was exactly like how the other comments, and I would like to add more infor. We booked this Ryokan because it is near by Lake Kawaguchiko and Mt Fuji. It is during the beginning of March 2015. Upon arriving at Kawaguchiko station, there is a tourist information center where we can ask the rep to call for pick up. Of course, make sure you arrive before 5pm ... or ... I guess you will need to take a cab there according to the other reviews. Anyway, we were picked up by the owner's son who has become our driver and chef. He showed us a note in English asking whether we need to stop at a grocery store or not. At the Ryokan, you can ask for him to cook dinner, and it will cost 1080 yen per person. Very oishi, I mean ... delicious. Give it a try! The dinner will be served at 7:00pm. If you need tourist information, you should ask his daughter; she can speak English very well. The Ryokan is just like a big house, and we were the only customers at that day. Imaging having a private onsen for yourself... My girlfriend and I used the onsen together. It was very fun experince. The living room are very big. You also get to wear a yukata. Well, after a good night rest, we decided to walk to see Fujisan in the morning while wearing traditional Japanese yukata. The daughter told us that it will be 10 minutes walk if you wanna see Mt Fuji. So... We put on yukata and jacket and went out for a walk. It actually took us 40 minutes to get to the sight seeing spot. Well, we were distracted by the beautiful Lake Kawaguchiko that we continue to take pictures. Until our feet starting to feel numb and... very numb. It was -1 C outside, and we got to see some snow. Unfortunately, Fujisan was covered by foggy cloud. It would be an ideal sight seeing spot during the spring or summer when the temperature is warmer, and the visibility is better. Recommended except in the winter... it is too cold to walk around

Great Ryokan”
It was a large ryokan with a very kind staff. I was the only one there besides one couple, so my experience was quite nice and private (Being able to take a bath by myself). It seemed like no one could speak English, but that was perfectly fine. I arrived at the train station and had someone who worked there help phone the ryokan to arrange a pick up (There is a room at the station where they will phone hotels to arrange pickups). The ryokan is located on the western side of the lake and had bicycles I could borrow, which was very convenient. It would take roughly 15 minutes to bike along the northern part of the lake to see Mt. Fuji. The hot bath was amazing, especially if you're catching Mt. Fuji early in the freezing morning (Probably depends on the season). I tried to leave at 9 in the morning, but the buses do not start running until after 10 AM. The staff was kind to drop me off at the train station. Great stay!

Lovely ryokan experience in a quieter part of Kawaguchiko”
The ryokan is situated in Nagahama, on the western side of Lake Kawaguchiko and can be reached by the green line bus from Kawaguchiko station. However, need to plan carefully if want to move around as timings for the green line is less frequent. Anyway, the owner was kind to give me a ride to the station early in the morning when the bus service had not started. The north and eastern side of the lake is where most accommodation and restaurants are located. But can order dinner at the ryokan which will be prepared by the owner. Had the onsen all to myself in the evening as there was only one other guest during my stay. This ryokan is suitable for those who want to have a relaxing time in Kawaguchiko.

Great”
Facing Lake Kawaguchiko. Very quiet and fantastic for morning stroll. Was given a huge room for the price paid. Traditional dinner was great & delicious! Ryokan provided free shuttle to/fro Kawaguchiko train station. You will need to call them from tourist info counter at station. Loop bus to various sightseeing spot located right in front of ryokan.

Incredible experience - stunning setting, friendly staff, free shuttle and amazing food”
This was our favourite place of an 8 week trip around Asia. The Ryokan is wonderful and it was such a special experience staying there, the Onsen was AMAZING. The owner was so kind and his cooking was incredible. They had bikes to cycle around the stunning lake. I can't reccommend it enough - all perfect.

First Japanese Ryokan experience, superb!”
To sum it up, I'll come back to stay at this Ryokan again. Small family run business, cosy and friendly, superb experience. Although language barrier, they make your stay most pleasurable, and do their best to help you find out info. Recommended!!

Worth staying”
The fellow picked us up, there's nowhere nearby for dinner so we stopped at the supermarket on the way to the ryokan for some food, and took it back to sit by the lake for a picnic. It's a really lovely spot. In the morning, he drove us back into town. He didn't speak english, maybe somebody there does but I'm not sure. Breakfast was really good, it wasn't included but worth doing in the morning.

i will come back again!!!!!”
The stuff, a man that i supposed is one of the bosses of this special hotel, took me a my friends two free rides. One is the pick up service from the station to the hotel. For another one, at first, we would like to call taxi, but he said he can help us. We feel so thankful about it. As you know, it can be very expensive to take a taxi in the outer town area in Japan. For these two free rides, i think they can costed more than 5000 yen. Out of these, The staff (the man and a old lady) are soooo friendly although they don't speak very good English but they will help you as much as they can. This is the first time i tried to stay in a Japanese style hotel. I think it is really a good experience that i would like to try it once again. So glad that I have been there. : )

Good”
Stayed here for 1 night to get the ryokan experience while in Japan. Owner offers shuttle service to station, ryokan is also right next to the green line for the tourist buses. Was able to leave my bag there early for some sightseeing before the 3pm checkin. Facilities were very clean, I was the only person staying there that night so it was a little eerily silent. Requested for dinner cooked by the owner and it was really good.

Japense tranditional style with very nice food”
It was a bit difficult at beginning when we tried to communicate for the pickup since this is the family hotel & a grandma took our call. But at the end, it was ok, we were fetched from the train station. The place is very nice, I fully felt as I was a Japanese when staying there. Especially the food were cook for us by the father of that family is so delicious. We had a long walk from the hotel to the lake and get a good view of Mount Fuji, romantic atmosphere of the lake & falling leaves... It was a very memorable staying that I would love to experience again.

Very Peaceful And Traditional Place To Stay”
The place is very quiet and peaceful. There will not be any type of convenience stores within walking distance but the hotel is located right beside a bus station (one of which is a tour type bus where 1,500yen can get you a 2-day free pass which is absolutely necessary if you do not have a car). The staff does not speak much English but they are sincere and ready to help. The rooms are clean. Onsen is really relaxing and although the rooms does not have any private washrooms, there are around 4 public washrooms within the facility which are very clean. One of the more unique features of this place is that a few members of this family-owned hotel will play the piano in the morning and it is quiet relaxing to hear them play.

Relaxing & Interesing Experience”
Because the hotel was facing the lake, it was far from the city. However, the hotel provided us with transportation to/from the main station. Although the old hotel owner couldn't speak any English, she had a very warm smile, & she was always ready to help. Because we couldn't eat their traditional food, the restaurant tried their best in making us fried chicken, noodle soup, boiled eggs, and fresh salad.

Nice hotel w/friendly staff, nice view & good food”
It a really nice place, you can of feel the heritage it has. Having said that it could b a little creepy when there's only one or two rooms booked as its super quiet ! Apart from that, it has a nice view of lake Kawaguchi. The attached restaurant has good food. However would recommend this place more to those we has/rents a car as it's a 20 mins bus ride to the main bus/train terminal otherwise taking a cab is another option for around 7,000 yen (roughly 10 mins ride) Would be great if the staff can speak just a tad bit more of English, but overall we could still communicate.

Highly recommended”
A traditional Japanese style small hotel where you truly enjoy the owner’s hospitality. Owner and his family don’t speak too much English but things still worked out fine. We absolutely enjoyed the quietness of the location.

Not recommended”
OK where to begin. This hotel has basically no access to it after 5pm at night by public transport so look at paying at least $30 taxi fee from Kawaguchi station which is the closest. The bus stop mentioned in previous reviews was terrible because we checked out at 8:30am and the next bus wasn't until 11:45am. When we arrived they didn't have our booking. Be aware that there is no access to food or drink once you get to this hotel from the train station so maybe getting their dinner and breakfast included is a good idea because there is no option when you turn up. We didn't and when we arrived at the train station at 6pm at night there were no restaurants in sight open, no connivence stores or public transport. We had travelled from hakone which had seemed easy enough on paper but was the worst idea. So basically unless you are well versed in Japanese as they dont speak much english, know the area well or are prepared to pre-book dinner and breakfast as well as a return taxi; as we ended up walking the 5km back to the station in the morning with no sight of taxi's, i would not recommend anyone to stay here. Pay the extra and stay in an area like Hakone which is much more accessible and what i would do next time.
