Hotels near golf course in Tuan Chau Island

"viethouselodge is the ideal homebase to spend your time in ha long bay! german host heiko and his german/vietnamese wife ly have created a clean, cosy, comfortable and warm lodge in which we relaxed from chaotic hanoi. they went the extra mile providing me with medicine when i had stomach flu (caused by some food in hanoi) and accompanied another guest caringly to the hospital after seafood problems he got on one of the boat tours. unrivelled service!!! and they serve very good authentic viet food in their cosy restaurant/ living room with a view of ha long bay!!! from the bus station its about 5 min. and not more then 70.000 dong. from halong city it´s a bit more i guess. since there is nothing to see in halong city in our opinion we found it better to be out on the tranquil island of tuan chau (connected by a big bridge). at night people gathered in the living room and chatted, played cards or just surfed on the internet. great place to hang out, get insight and travel advice from the host or guest. the rooms are simple, quiet and with optional seaview. if you come to ha long bay and are looking for a great place to rest, get infos, meet people and from which to explore beautiful halong bay this is the place!!"

"Stay on 19 Jan 15. At first was frustrated with being given a room with a view of the hill. So I went downstairs to talk to the receptionist,hoping they can changed it. They showed me my Agoda booking which did not specify for Bay view. So I just turned around and walked away. Minutes later, received a call from receptionist who mentioned a guest cancelled booking and thus they gave me a room with very good view of the bay. The laundry was excellent. Clothes came back on clean and smell nice. A pity they did not offer bike rental so that we can explore the island and nearby Halong City. Breakfast is not really good as the food is tasteless."

"The room is well furnished/equipped with all the basic items as you can expect from a 2-star hotel, no add-ons. Still, we were impressed by the cleanliness of the room. The bed and blanket smelled really good. It's cozy. If you are lucky enough to have the (only) male manager around, you'll be well taken care of, and he can also speak English. Otherwise, you might encounter some unpleasant experiences during your stay if you are not speaking Vietnamese, since the other staff just don't know what to do and how to do things though they all are so nice, warm and willing to help. They don't speak any English. Some pluses: - Flexible check-in and check-out time - Good deal for single occupancy - Room service is available. Not many options of food, though"
