Location was great. We were moved to the sister hostel due to christmas closure. Room was very nice, spacious and clean. The kitchen was nice but lack of spoon/fork - cant find any and all the stove are broken. The fire alarm rang 5x times in one night and the staff didnt gave us any explanation. We were given a room near the window so its a bit noisy.

It is in northern quarter. Staffs are kind and ready to help guest However, toilet and bathroom are a bit far(I stayed in 2nd floor but bathroom for men is in 1st floor) Also, you might need to bring a long cable if you use top of bunk bed

Overall great, but slightly messy”
Pros: location, staff, clean linen & beds. Cons: Only one shower was working, full trash bins in the mixed dorm. Room was a bit messy overall. Havent seen such in other hostels, at the same price.

Maybe the only hostel in Manchester. Staff is very good. But the room is old and the toilet is bad. OK for short stay.

I needed somewhere cheap to stay for a few hours sleep before an early coach journey. Location is great and it was very cheap. Bedding looked clean and bed was comfortable but the rest of the place is filthy. It really is totally disgusting. It's in such a bad state, dirty smelly bathrooms, water dripping, wall paper peeling and dust and dirt all over. Hostel is also right beside some pubs so noise and music went on until about 3 am so not much sleep until then. It served its purpose for me but I would never stay here again. On the plus side the staff were very nice ,friendly and helpful

Great people at the front desk but the building is shocking, could be a squat, seems like it hasn't had any maintenance on it since the 1900s. I've also slept on better beds in squats. The owner must be loaded.

It’s good because it’s cheap and well located. Apart from that toilets are dirty, beds are far from comfy. Breakfast is simple. Cornflakes and hot drink. That’s it... I would stay there again only if no other budget options available...

Pretty nice people at the reception desk. The rest of their staff was not really happy to help and one of them rude and even aggressive (probably living in volunteer). You should better not check how "clean" are the duvets or pillows. Nice clean linen but what you find inside is unbelievable. And last but not least I spent one night before in YHA Manchester (even lower price per night) and that hostel looked like a 4* hotel! Location is great though.

Friendly and helpful staff and great location but that's it the facilities in this hostel are some of the worst I've ever experienced, only one barely functioning shower in the entire men's facilities, never any toilet paper, half the lockers were broken. Place needs a complete refurb

One of my worst experience staying in a hostel. I got a super crowded one in Krakow, most uncomfortable and dirty washroom + mosquitos in Tirana, the least value for money in Beirut or so in 40+ countries. This one was a boiler with a number of these features. Suggest you to do the shower at the MIDNIGHT (after 2am) such that you would feel a little bit less stressed with the crowded and dirty washroom. If the hostel was increasingly crowded, often time it came with an increasingly ridiculous price I bet. And of course increasingly dirty. So get rid of it if you have extra budget and take reference to the remaining rooms. It has a pass score thanks to the talkative staff and a simple yet free of charge breakfast.

I can only say that the mattress is in a terrible condition, the breakfast is poor and just after breakfast, another guy and I saw a mouse running around the room ... have your own conclusion

Good breakfast and kitchen. Very dirty common facilities, especially toilets and showers from lack of cleaning. Also most of the toilets and showers were out of service. Not well run nor organized place.

The check-in was fast and nice until i get to see the room. I got assigned in the 3rd floor. When i open the room the door is a bit of a problem, you have to push and pull extra effort to close and open it properly. The room wasn't fresh but acceptable, it was dirty, even if they do room cleaning everyday, it doesn’t look like it cleaned everyday. There is a hole in the room near the heater/boiler which is awful. When I get to the shower room, i don't know how to turn on the hot shower so yeah bit bummer for me. The toilet was odd because the lamp is sorta broken so even if you go at midnight it be dark and sometimes the flush got stuck. The last part is the breakfast, i know that i shouldn't expect anything but the the bad thing is on my first day of breakfast, there's a hole in the bread plastics look like a rat/pigeon made hole. and that was the only bread available that morning, because and people keep eating that cause they didn’t know until there's this one man tell us it's bird.

Showers had only cold water. It was free bed wherever u found space grab it. Cleanliness was average or below average. Didn’t use there toilets. Building needs renovation.
