Staying at No.11 is like coming home.”
I stayed at No.11 Brunswick on 2 separate occasions bookending a tour to the Highlands in the middle, and I adore this boutique hotel! The story behind this house gives it such character, which I found charming and apt considering Edinburgh and Scotland is full of stories both real and in folklore. The hotel is on the New Town side, on a quiet street about 15 mins walk to Waverly station. A lovely change from the standard lodges or hotels in the city. I stayed in a single room (room 4) in the first part, and really liked the space of the single room; quite different to other single rooms of standard hotels I have stayed at previously. The bathroom has no door but who needs one in a single room :) There is plenty of light coming into the room with its floor to ceiling windows which I appreciated, and the furnishings are classical and contributes to the hotel's character. I found the room cosy and warm, again quite different to other draughty hotel rooms in the UK and one thing I was grateful for as I am from the tropics. I returned to No.11 after visiting the Highlands to a double room (room 10) on the top floor and that was my favourite and it really felt like I was coming home. The high windows, luscious bed, muted grey tones of this room was so welcoming I ended up NOT going out that evening but instead stayed in, borrowed a DVD from the hotel's lounge and almost didn't want to check out the next day! Last thing that I was very impressed with is the impeccable service by Richard and Mindi at the front desk who took the trouble to remember my name, greet me with lovely smiles and made me feel at home. Monika at the restaurant was also lovely during breakfast, making sure I had enough tobasco sauce for my Scottish fry up. I'm so glad I found a bit of Edinburgh I can consider home - No.11, see you soon, I shall be back!

Great one night stay for first visit to Edinburgh”
We booked two rooms for a one night stay and loved No. 11 Boutique Hotel. Its location suited our taste - quite neighborhood but only 15-20 minute walk to the Royal Mile. The old building is beautifully renovated - our room was spacious and had a four poster bed, a sitting area that has a pull-out sofa and a gorgeous, HUGE bathroom that felt like a club it was so cool. No lift, but the staff were helpful in bringing up our luggage. As with any old building (anything in old/new town Edinburgh, really), it gives little creaks and knocks; could be disconcerting when you wake up in the middle of the night from jetlag. We couldn't get a table for dinner (popular spot, it seems) but our full Scottish breakfast was sooo good! The same lady who checked us in also served our breakfast, and helped us book a taxi, attentive and smiling the whole way! Overall, we had a great stay and would be happy to visit No. 11 again (for a longer stay next time!).

A very pleasant stay at No. 11 Boutique Hotel on the outskirts of the centre of Edinburgh. A very warm welcome. A pleasant mini suite. Enjoyed the early Festival Menu which was well presented and very good value for money. Will definetely return. Polite staff.

Hidden Gem. An amazing find.”
We booked a night away for my wives birthday at this hotel. Found on the Internet for a reasonable price. We were very impressed by it. Walkable from Waverley station in 10 minutes. The staff at reception we're very helpful and kept our bags until our room was ready, where they were waiting for us when we returned from a days shopping. We received a detailed explanation of the restaurant and bar in the hotel and the room has a detailed guide to the local area. Room was spaceous, clean and comfortable, stylishly decorated. Modern but balanced to the age and style of the building. The staff were very helpful, including the co-owner who we met in arrival. This will be our hotel of choice when coming to Edinburgh and would recommend to others as well.

Overnighter”
We stayed at No 11 in a junior suite. It was very well equipped and spitlessly clean. The room was spacious and the kingsize bed sooooo comfy! We ate in the hotel restaurant and the food was beautifully presented and delicious. The staff are friendly and efficient. The price we paid was a snip and I would recommend No 11 to anyone.

Wonderful location ”
Stayed her to attend a concert at the playhouse. The hotel is perfectly situated for this - 2 minute walk to playhouse and a further 3 mins and you are on princess street. Great staff very friendly. The room was small but pretty. The breakfast was lovely. A good choice foe a visit to Edinburgh to explore the sights and great food and drink options within 2 mins walk.

Good value comfortable hotel”
We chose the hotel as wanted to be fairly central but not pay a huge amount. The room was on the small side (not an issue for one night), good value and staff were friendly. The breakfast was delicious. We did have an issue with our shower but reported that and it was looked into promptly. I would stay here again.

A Jewel in the Crown”
We were passing through so only stayed for one night unfortunately as I’d have liked to stay longer! A warm greeting by the receptionist and efficient check in. Room was lovely overlooking the garden. Comfortable beds in a tastefully decorated room. Ideally situated only 10 mins walk from York Place and Princes St. Beautiful building too.

Noisy”
Stayed in room number 2 it was well decorated and roomy. The bathroom was big enough. The bed was comfy and clean. Unfortunately due to noise from the above bistro and the hall we found we did not get a peaceful nights sleep. Other than the noise everything was spot on but we could not possibly return to this hotel.

Thank you for the review. Sorry that you felt the walls were dirty - Housekeeping will give this room a deep clean to ensure standards do not drop. We do not have any rugs at No 11 so I am not sure what you are referring to here.
