Good location but facilities were lacking”
The views of Kanchenjunga from the room was amazing, but for the price paid you would expect better facilities.. eg. the room had a "spa" bathtub, but there was not enough hot water capacity to fill it. When I called reception they explained their 40 litre geyser is not capable of filling the bathtubs - so that rendered the tub pretty much useless. Also, Pelling is prone to power cuts and the backup generator provides power for lights and water only - no heat. With power out all night our room got pretty chilly in the morning (it was 6 degrees Celsius outside). There was no WiFi available in the room - it was in the lobby / main building only. Service was quite good - the staff was very courteous and attentive to our needs.

Although we started off on a bad note with the person at the reception (who needs to learn how to smile when welcoming/ seeing a guest for the first time), we ultimately had a lovely stay here, thankfully. Mr.Tshering helped us with all our questions and needs : thank you Tshering! The views from our room were breathtaking - we were lucky enough to see the sunrise over the magnificent Kanchenjunga range from our room hydrangea503. If you wish you see the sunrise from the helipad, it is about a 5 minute walk from this property. Also we walked to the Sangacholing Monastery : about 1 hour away. It was a lovely trek. The food was unexpectedly good. The kids ate , which says a lot! The property is beautiful, the room was gorgeous. The bathroom was clean. But it could have been cleaner, though : there were cobwebs on top of the fireplace. All in all, a lovely stay. We will definitely stay here again. Note : there is no internet available. whatsapp, even sms-ing was agonisingly slow and unpredictable !

It was an heavenly experience of serenity, tranquillity, unique luxury that too in the lap of gigantic and majestic Kanchanjangha. We didn't feel like leaving the room at all.
