On the east shore of Loch Lomond, this award-winning family-run country inn is constructed from locally quarried slate and offers a perfect tranquil location for a romantic or relaxing break. Standing in the shade of a magnificent 500-year-old oak tree, this traditional bar/restaurant is ideal for those wishing to escape from the rush of modern day life. The non-smoking inn is adjacent to the West Highland Way and is ideal for walkers. After a long day spent exploring the region’s magnificent scenery and breathing in the invigorating fresh air, you can satisfy your hard-earned hunger with a delicious meal. Food is served all day and the bar has a cosy, welcoming atmosphere and a real log fire. A full cooked buffet breakfast is served at the Inn and there is free on-site parking. All of the traditional bedrooms are individually decorated and have a private bathroom. Some rooms are located in nearby cosy cottages. Relax and enjoy the natural tranquillity and stunning scenery of one of the most beautiful and romantic places in Scotland.

PODs are tiny”
We booked for a Thursday and Monday to top and tail our NC500 trip and chose the POD as it looked ideal and would give us some independence. On arrival the girl on the desk was overly nice almost to the point of being insincere. We were told that there was no other options to eat or drink in the village other than the premises themselves or the shop next door which the owners also owned (in addition to the coffee shop and ice cream shop) so these people have a total monopoly on everything and you have no option other than to give them your money one way or another which for me was distasteful. The bar staff and restaurant staff were friendly and excellent to deal with and the food was very good if a little over-priced. The POD I have to say is very well engineered but it really is tiny and not what I was expecting at all. There is a small double bed in the main room and a shower you have to squeeze yourself into but very little room to move around. There's a nice seating area outside but the view isn't what you think (overlooking the loch) as all you can see is the car park. When we left I asked the girl on reception if we could change to a larger space on the Monday and to be fair she moved us to a large room in the hotel at no extra cost which was very much appreciated. The Oak Tree Inn is a lovely place in a great location but let down by there being no options to eat or drink anywhere but there and the PODs are tiny. Other than that the hotel and food are very good but it is busy so if you don't mind noise until late and you also are ok with staff who are a little affected and insincere then it's fine. The pluses are the location, the food and the bar/restaurant staff, the negatives are the monopoly these people have over everyone in the area, the price and the fake sincerity of the reception staff.

We had one night here while walking the west highland way. We had a great stay. Clean room with everything we needed. Nice shower and a comfortable bed. The restaurant area was great and super cosy. Good food and good drinks. The breakfast buffé was better than expected. Good and big selection and everything made fresh and very tasty. Friendly and helpful personel. Location was great and I have no what so ever complaints.

You won't find fault with this place the boat yard is minute walk then 5 mins walk is boat ride round the lock very clean place excellent staff good choice of beers ect food was the best we have had for years in hotels staff was the best

Bad chech in/out timing”
When you get there you will not be able to check in your room before 3pm !! All the travellar are just waiting for 3pm with no place to keep your luggage in and going out to enjoy, even though the checkout time is 10am and the rooms clear to be ready you will be asked for 10 more minutes wait until 3 pm !! In same time there is no access to lake unless within few limited areas (far away) all the others had gate and private property sign !!

Great BandB Lovely place to visit, The walks around the Oak Tree are Great, The Village is easy distance to Glasgow,and all the surounding ares Right on Loch Lomond,The Breakfast is Great sets you up for a good days walking or traveling,And nice bar to return to at Night Food prices are ok woukd go back good Value for Money rooms are ok
