      Home away from home”

The facilities at Oakhostel Fuji are great, as to be expected of many Japanese hostels. However, what separates Oakhostel Fuji from other hostels is the staff. I was at Oakhostel Fuji for approximately 3 and 1/2 weeks and during this time I became quite close to the staff at Oakhostel Fuji. They're definitely the coolest locals I've met in Japan so far and I would recommend anyone to stay at Oakhostel without hesitation! P.S. Looking forward to my next visit to Tokyo to see you guys again!

Compared to other hostels near the subway, Oakhostel Fuji is in a farther location after you walk from the Asakusa station and pass through the bridge. However, it was actually an enjoyable moment for me to walk through the bridge with the breeze flipping through your face. Recommend you this hostel!

My husband and I stayed at Oakhostel Fuji for 5 nights while we were in Tokyo and it was great! The staff were friendly and kept the hostel very clean. The common area was very nice, with great music and a full kitchen and the hostel was conveniently located. I would definitely recommend!

LOVE (scroll down for list of pros and cons)”

I love this place so much! It's cheap, affordable and walkable from Asakusa station. About 10 minutes without luggage, about 20 minutes with luggage since you might need to take the lift and it takes more time to lug things around. I love walking to and from the station because the view is always nice of the bridges over the Sumida River, and you can see the Tokyo Skytree when walking back to the hostel. Also, you walk about 10 minutes to get to the famous Kaimmon Gate, and about 18-20 minutes to get to the middle of kappabanshi, the kitchen street with over 700 stores for kitchenware, baking supplies, aprons and pottery. Very good prices! I'm a cooking and baking lover so I spent a whole afternoon there. The hostel is so lovely that I went back after visiting Kyoto to stay my last night in Tokyo before heading back to my country. PROS - very friendly staff. They help with everything, from booking bus tickets to helping me find a makeup shop. Eun-Young even printed a little map for me, so sweet! When I returned, they all recognised me too. Maybe because the last time after checkout I used their showers... LOL. - lots of local info. they made laminated booklets of things around such as food, sento (public bathhouses), sightseeing spots, free places to get good views of the Tokyo SKYTREE and so on. - nice lounge. Such pretty hand painted walls, and the kitchen is great. I used it to cook delicious dinners and breakfast. - free laundry, though you must pay for dryer. I use the hanging rack up on the rooftop. - nice rooftop balcony! Loved chilling there with my friend for dinner, it closes way too early though :P - they keep your luggage for free, and apparently they charge more if you do it overnight past your checkout date but my friend did it and she was not charged, so idk. - really like the lockers they give to stuff all your crap in. There's plenty of space to pack and leave your luggage. CONS - cleanliness is preeeetty clean, especially in the beds and loun

      Romantic!!”

Not only inexpensive, clean, comfortable to other places, Fuji offers a Romantic Rooftop Terrace where you can have a great view of Tokyo Skytree day and night. I witnessed a French couple having a romantic breakfast. The only minor is walking distance --- 7 mins from Honjo Azumabasi or Asakusa, both on Toei Asakusa Line, convenient access to Narita and Haneda Airports.

Very comfy hostel for a solo traveler”

I stay in Oakhostel Fuji for 6 days, all I can say is that the location is pretty nice and close to the station, about 8 mins walking and the view along the bridge is a bonus whenever you walk to the station or walk back to the hostel. I live in the Female only floor and I am really satisfeid with it, shower rooms and bathroom is neat and they are sweet to offer the face sop, makeup remover and lotion!! Bed is a little small but really comfortable! Definitely would like to live there again .

      Reccommended 👍🏼”

Pros- The location is very accessible. The nearest train station is Asakusa station which is a 10-minute walk to/from the hostel. There are convenient stores if you plan to buy food. Sensoji temple and Tokyo Skytree are some of the places you need to visit in the area. The hostel itself has a good ambiance. If you're willing to cook, the hostel has a kitchen and cooking utensils are available. You'll also find a laundry area in the hostel. We stayed in a 12 mix dorm type room. Pillow and blanket are provided. Locker is also available inside the room. Cons- I only have two concerns. First is with regards to their service. When we first arrived in the hostel, we were given instructions abour the door locks and others. We went to the room and found out that the beds were not yet tidied up. Secondly, shower area is at the first floor. There are no shower areas in the room but there were toilet area. It was a hassle to go down to the 1st floor from 4th floor just to take a bath.

      Loved my stay”

Closest stations: -Honjo-Azumabashi (Asakusa line) -Asakusa (Ginza line) The bed is quite spacious with small shelf, 2 electric outlets, and light. Locker is vig enough for 1/medium luggage and 1 backpack. But since the locker is placed just behind the bunkbeds, you'll hear the noise of it opening and closing. Bath and toilet is enough and I didn't have to wait to use them. Slippers are provided inside the room. Neighbourhood is safe, quiet, and clean, with several vending machines along the way. Vending machine is also available inside the hostel. The staffs are very helpful. I was told that sheets and pillow cases are changed everyday but I don't think mine got changed during the 6 days stay. I would definitely recommend and come back here.

Super clean! Showers and toilets among the cleanest hostel facilities I have seen. A bit far from transit - about ten minutes walk from subway stations. That said, it's only a ten minute walk from Asakusa station where there is lots going on! Great budget stay in pricey Tokyo.

The only (-) is it’s quite walk from/to Asakusa Subway (around 10 minutes) but that’s not really a problem for me :). - Shower room only on the1st floor, but it was okay for me since toilet at every floor. - Staff so friendly, i was able to early check-in. - U can leave your luggage and use the shower room during your check-out time. - Very comfy at 1st floor, u can eat here cz there’s kitchen set here, smoking area, laundry, and longue room. So u can chit chat with other traveler. - Comfy bedroom and they provide locker for us.

One of the most thoughtful hostel designs”

Super happy staying here. I lived in the female dormitory, which is a floor on its own. Showers and bathrooms are available on this floor. It's always clean. Shampoo, conditioner, body shampoo, oil cleansing wash, lotion and essence were provided. Huge lockers and good privacy (from the capsule-like layout). Love the groove in the wall that holds personal items. Lounge is very homey, and some ppl cook their own food there. Cons I could think of is, my bunk (217) was not facing the air-conditioning and it is warmer if it is not set to at least 21 Celsius. Someone felt it was too cold and would often switch it off or raise it to 25 Celsius, which made me wake up sweating. This is a guest issue; please request for extra blanket next time. Another comment is, it would be cleaner if all shoes are taken off at the entrance of 2nd floor, instead of in the shared room. Otherwise, this place would still be my first choice for Tokyo if I return.

Recommended to stay in this super clean hostel ”

Front desk Mr.Hiroki warm welcome make me feel comfort and feel like home to stay at this hostel. Plus advantage this hostel allowed check in before 1am, this make my last train available and manage to check in late night. Hostel super clean, equipments well maintained, even u could use kitchen facilities like frig and cooking facilities. Front desk have some guide book make u easy to travel around. Some small things is hostel common area light down after 1 am make some late night sleeper as me hard to continue to do my things. Second, lack of entertainment in common area, most of time are empty and lonely. Anyway,i feel happy to stay here and i love asakusa area.

      Awesome”

Hostel is near to two train stations, asakusa and honzo azumabashi. There are also convenience in the vicinity. Staff are very accomodating and the place is really clean. I stayed in the female dormitory for 12 people and didnt encounter any problem. Toiletries are provided and heater is working well, just bring your own bath towel. There is an area to hang your clothes if you wash them. Everything is organized and neat. I only bought takeout food but other guests are able to cook their food, the hostel is complete with kitchen appliances. Overall I had a good stay, will recommend to friends!

Great and clean hostel with a good atmosphere.”

It was one of the best hostel of our long trip around Japan. The staff speaks English and it is very kind and helpful. The dorm was very clean and you have lockers, good WiFi connection and plugs. The shower are not enough for the whole hostel but they are very clean. The kitchen has all kind of stuff and you have free tea and coffe. The location is good, 5 minutes walking from Asakusa Station. Great choice.

      Lovely place ”

It’s a lovely hostel. Staff are very welcoming, kitchen is well equipped, washing machine for free, dryer costs extra. Beds are quite comfy. Closest JR station is Ryogoku which is about a 25 mins walk from the hostel which I didnt mind. Alternatively, there is Asakusa station nearby. Quiet neighborhood. Would stay again.

      Amazing!”

I loved it that I stayed here twice. Once when I first arrived in Tokyo and the second time in the same month when I came back from Kyoto. This hostel is really amazing!! They have a really nice kitchen where you can cook. It's near the temple and metro. You can do your laundry for free as long as you have your own detergent and you can dry with a dryer or hang your clothes outside. The bathrooms are really well maintained and nice. They're near to a lot of convenience stores, supermarket and they have vending machines inside the hostel as well. The beds have curtains for privacy and have lamps and outlet to use. They have a computer that can be used and shared by everyone. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Would definitely stay again!

Very nice hostel with lots of space in the kitchen”

This hostel was perfect for us. The beds were big enough, had curtains for privacy. The showers were downstairs but that's not too bad. Toilets are on the same floor as the dorms. Very clean facility and helpful staff! The kitchen is very well equipped (even salt, sugar) and also very clean. Water is drinkable in Tokyo from the tap and they have kettles, microwaves, and ovens in the kitchen as well. Shower gel, Shampoo, and Conditioner are available in the shower. Perfect for backpackers :-) Nice little rooftop terrace.
