Excellent service in Yumotokan”
We booked one night stay in Deluxe Double Room with Open-Air Bath. Once we out from Ogoto onsen station, there is a phone hanging on the board with instruction and some of the nearby hotel speed dial. The shuttle van took around 5 minute to pick us up. Our stay included dinner & breakfast. We have inform them in email to exclude raw food and beef and they did exactly what we ask for. The food is fresh and delicious with nice presentation. Overall, we have a delighted stay in here and definitely hope to visit again in future.

Clean room, nice outdoor onsen! ”
We stayed in the Japanese styled room with outdoor private onsen tub. A bit cold to have a shower out there but once you soak in the tub, it’s very relaxing! We enjoyed tea and snacks offered in the room. Coffee drinkers may not be happy as there is only enough for two cups. Love the Outdoor Onsen on the roof top at night and the 5th floor at day time - very clean and well equipped with all nice toiletries. Dinner and breakfast, delicious and abundant, were served in the private room. Staff are friendly and helpful, and able to speak English well! The hotel is near the lake where we went for a walk to enjoy the fall foliage. But other than that, there’s nothing much to see around there.

What a wonderful hotel”
Ogoto Onsen Yumotokan Ryokan is one of the best resort hotels so far I stayed in Japan. Their service is wonderful. Rooms are spacious. What surprised me was their breakfast and dinner, it was so amazing. Very delicious and yummy and it took us almost 2.5 hours to finish the dinner. I would no doubt recommend this to my family and friends.

Toiletries provided etc was great!!!! and the public onsen experience - wonderful. ( i went at night and it was not crowded at all) If i could try a room with an inbuilt onsen next time i would!!

Relaxing getaway ”
Lovely onsen hotel in the rather quirky town of Ogoto. We stayed in one of the Hanare Karoi rooms which was tastefully furnished complete with a private onsen on the balcony. The beds were most comfortable. In addition, meals, onsens and staff hospitality were all of a superior level. Well recommended to visit for those inclined.

My husband and I wanted a night's stay at a ryokan with a private bath. After comparing between several ryokans, this place is definitely value for money, it was much cheaper than the rest, however it wasn't located in the heart of the city and we had to travel a few stations away. However, the ryokan provided transport to and fro the Ogoto Onsen Station and it was easy to arrange. You can even call them for free at the station with a provided cell phone. Facilities were exactly what we were looking for! Private room onsen, plus 5 other public onsens. It was a very relaxing and enjoyable stay!

Friendly staff, great food & great onsen experience. ”
Get there by Local JR to Ogoto station was easy, they provide free complimentary shuttle so call them once you reach. We booked the private onsen as my Husband has a tattoo. No tattoos are allowed in the four public onsens. They have four public onsens, two of which the ryokan will specifically tell you how to tell which day one onsen is for male and one is for female so take note! The other two have separate genders bath. I love the 11th floor and 8th floor bath as they overlook Lake Biwa so it’s particularly beautiful in the morning & dusk. Kaiseki was delicious with Shiga Prefecture specialties. The souvenir shop has a lot of cute local gifts. Staff greets you every time they see you which is pretty nice. There’s also a shuttle back to the JR station so ask the staff for the timing so you don’t miss it. A beautiful experience in the ryokan.. if we can we will love to go back again!

Good Choices of Onsen and Good Food”
One of the best ryokans we've been to. The dinner and breakfast provided was excellent. Room was spacious and we had a room with a good view. There are various onsen both open air and indoor you can experience. Shuttle bus from Ogotoonsen Station; just need to make a phonecall with the phone provided at the station. Good service from the staff too.

Unexpected incredible japanese experience”
We were amazed with the experience and finding us in the middle of a clearly Japanese occupued Ryokan. Food and onsen definitely top experiences, with the room also being fantastic. Although the ryokan seems a bit old on the outside, insode is really top condition. Very helpful staff despite a but of English limitations.

Great way to end Kyoto trip”
I traveled with my parents. We stayed 3days in Kyoto and ended our trip at Yumotokan. The staff spoke Korean so that was very helpful. I recommend doing both dinner & breakfast package as there weren't any places to eat around the hotel. It was fun to try out different onsen in the hotel. I also recommend buying snacks and beverages to enjoy in the room before arriving at the hotel. They had private onsen (extra payment) and some rooms had private traditional onsen within the room but I don't think this is necessary as they have already different onsen on different floors to experience. The outdoor onsen on the 5th floor is a must visit!

Good first experience in onsen”
First experience in a Japan onsen. The experience is beyond my expectations. I like it alot. They also cater to special request of certain meal. The staff is very friendly and provide very good customer service, especially Miyuki. They can communicate with English well. The hotel does feel like a 3/4 star facility. Male Onsen is mostly empty during my visit. I like the view of Biwa lake while bathing in onsen.

We were staying in the room at 10/F top floor, with 2 individual hotspring. We have enjoyed the hotspring with the new view. Excellent!. High recommend for my friends.
