Perfect location in Tsukuba”
The Okura chain is always good. The Epochal Frontier has a great location in Tsukuba, not far from the bus and train station. Across the street is DAYZ TOWN (mall) which has several restaurants and a supermarket, which is open until something like 24:00. The staff is helpful and professional. The room sizes range, but I think are larger than most Japanese business hotels. I had a special online price and was surprised to find only one pillow, but imagine this was to make it clear that Japanese hotels are usually pay per person. The breakfast was basic but very worth the roughly $10 US price. A previous time I think I even borrowed a bike from the hotel, which was impressive, although that might have been at the other Okura (I forget). The other Okura hotel is even closer to the train/bus station, but seems to have smaller rooms. Either one though is very clean and has good service.

This hotel was great. The room was immaculately clean, and extremely quiet at night. The hotel staff were very helpful and greeted me kindly. I would highly recommend this place, especially considering its price.

Beautiful experience ”
Although the hotel is a distance from the tsukuba station, it was worth e walk cos the park right outside the hotel was mesmerising. Hotel is also situated amongst supermarket & conesticd drugstore, hence it was convenient getting items late at nights. Hotel front desk staff were also polite & responded promptly to all my enquiries. My only regret was not being able to use the swimming pool facility at the main building cos it was a far distance :( and i didn't have enough time.

Amazing and lovely service from the staff.”
Nice room overlooking the park. Had a lovely breakfast at the cafe downstairs for a great price. The best point was that I was attending a convention at the Okura Frontier hotel near the station but they had no more single rooms so I booked a room at the Epochal. When I told the staff at the Epochal they called to the other hotel and after the Saturday night dinner and party they arranged for a car to bring me back. The Epochal arranged it without me even asking! Amazingly kind service and I was very impressed. A big thank you to them!

Hotel immersed in greenway”
This room is the most spacious one in Japan hotels I have ever stayed. It really makes the stay much more enjoyable. There is a very nice green walkway just besides the hotel. We enjoyed walking there.. There are also a lot of restaurants/stores closeby. It's a few minutes walk from the main transport station, not a problem for small luggage, but a little challenge if having a large luggage.

Good standard business hotel”
Okura Epochal is older and more foot worn compared to the other Frontier in Tsukuba and other nearby hotels, but slightly cheaper and comfortable nonetheless. Beds are a bit lumpy and room fittings somewhat aged. Staff are friendly and there's a useful mall and good restaurants nearby. Close to the bus and train hub with easy access to the university and Tokyo.

Well located comfortable stay”
Welcoming and helpful staff, and the room was of a good standard although the bed was a bit small, but still comfortable. Okura Epochal is a short walk from the Tsukuba centre transport hub (where there is also another Okura but a bit more expensive) and shopping malls. There are also supermarkets and plenty of good restaurants very close by.

Small room”
The room was much smaller than we expected. We had a twin roon and there were 2 beds (one bigger than another) and that's pretty much it, because there was no room for anything else. We also expected a buffet breakfast (which I was really looking forward to), but there were only 3 breakfast menues we could choose from. We really expected more for this price.
