Find hotels near Ong Lang in Phu Quoc Island, Vietnam

Having toured the entire island and looked at all the hotels. I can say that Shells is the best value for a 5 star experience. It is located near enough long beach that you can easily go there. But far enough away that the pollution and noise of the area does not ruin the tranquility of your holiday. The beach staff, cleaning staff, restaurant staff and general support staff are the friendliest I have ever experienced. The service is amazing. The reception and staff that help with cabs/bags were OK. (not great, but also not bad). The cost of food and drink at the resort is very competitive. So you can happily eat there a lot and enjoy the resort. Gym/Spa is also not bad. Great swimming pool. The breakfast was also good. The food is well prepared and clean. The resort is kept clean. They do a really great job. You can charter a private boat for 5 hours from An Thoi to see the islands in the south (get there by taxi and get the taxi to wait for you - tell them to turn off meter, you can arrange that with reception of the hotel). When you arrive at An Thoi - the boat seller will approach you and sell you boat services. We paid 1 million dong for the charted boat for 5 hours for 2 people to visit the 3 furthest islands.. They asked for 1.2 million dong originally. (remember haggle) They will give you life jacket and snorkelling gear. Bring your own snorkelling gear also works as theirs is a little dirty. Also 100% visit Rach Vem. We had seafood (1kg of seafood) hotpot there for 300k dong - great meal/clean. For everyone info - local price of coconuts is 10k dong, 20k in tourist areas. Don't pay more than 20k. Please haggle for everything you buy. Foreign tourists should pay the same as Vietnam tourists. The beach at the resort and the island beaches you will visit is probably all the beaches you need to visit. A lot of the others have rubbish on them. The beaches on the south islands are the best - emerald blue. The snorkeling was ok, not super great. Probably Ph

The place is located perfectly in the quieter part of Ong Lang next to Mango Bay Resort. While the latter steals the show in most aspects (is also more $$$) Ancarine is no slouch. The property is beautifully located in a forest like setting yet offering great ocean views from almost every room. The best part of the property was it’s shower facilities located in the back (attached) to the room with some plant foliage. The setting couldn’t have been perfect. The service was 5 star especially from the front desk / reception. We didn’t try the food at the restaurant but went to Mango Bay for one evening, in my whole honest opinion, I would pass eating there. The village has so much to offer and Tree House was best bang for your buck. If we returned to Phu Quoc, without a doubt we will stay at Ancarin

My review depends on what you want in a resort. If you want a remote location away from all the crowds, towns, restaurants, etc. then Sea Sense is the place for you. It's on the northern part of the island and if you want to go into Duong Dong you must take a taxi each way, which costs about 150,000 dong or $6 dollars. The hotel offers one shuttle into town at 2 PM and one return shuttle at 4 PM. These times are nor conducive to eating lunch or dinner in town and forces you to eat at the resort. The food at the resort is tasty, but nothing great. If you stay, book the Beachside Villa and not the Sea View Villas. They're located up on the hillside and though they have a nice view, you still must walk down to the ocean. The Beachside Villas are right on the ocean and offer great views and access to the beach. The rooms themselves are very comfortable and well air-conditioned. The solar heated hot water is very annoying since it's very hard to adjust the temperature, and even when you're able to do so, the water pressure is so low it's like being under a dripping faucet. The staff works very hard to please you and do a really good job despite the tyrannical management by the owners. The owners are truly difficult and I witnessed them yell at staff when guests are around. Sea Sense would be a Class A resort if the owners cared about pleasing their customers, which they do not. But it's the owners decision not to offer golf cart service except during check in and check out. It's also their decision not to offer transport into town throughout the day. They could partner up with Sakura restaurant, the closest and best restaurant around, but it's really too far to walk. I will agree with others that the bar, though nice, makes the worse drinks. It's not just the cheap alcohol they use, but the nasty mixers. The pina coladas and margaritas are just bland and bitter. If you drink, stick with the Saigon 33 beer. It's the best option on the drink list.

We had a great time in Phu Quoc and overall this resort was great but had some minor issues. There were only 3 other couples staying at the resort but the staff somehow acted like the place was booked full. We had laundry done and at the resort after being told they charge more for this but they did a better job. After leaving the resort we smelled the clothes and they stunk like they hadn't really been washed. Also a white shirt of my wife's was turned black. We had also hired a driver for a half day to take us around the island. We returned tired and hungry. We asked to have lunch at the resort and they were annoyed that we asked for this. After about 20 minutes the chef appeared and annoyingly cooked the few things they had. After lunch we told the staff we were going to take a nap, and 10 minutes later there was a knock at the door from housekeeping. Very annoyed that with 3 guests they had, they waited till we returned to clean.

Very nice resort with beautiful pool and garden. Rooms are super clean & comfortable. The beach is 1km to walk. The Ong lang beach is the best beach in Phuc Quoc to relax. If you want party than you should go to Long beach area. Also I think its perfect families with kids. If you want to go to city just ask at reception and rent a scooter - its the best way to explore island. nearby are some really good restaurants: 1. So true; 2. Family Inn. Resort food is also really good. (try fresh and fried spring rools). Staff is amazing friendly and helpful.

phu quoc island was a last minute addition to our trip, and we're so glad we chose mango bay as our tropical island escape! set around a small cove near ong lang beach, mango bay is about 8km from the airport and is accessed from a dusty road through a mango orchard. mango bay is an ecofriendly resort, using solar panels and organic/recycled building materials throughout their facilities. the veranda bungalow we stayed in was perfect: clean, basic bathroom, comfortable bed, and a deck overlooking the water. there was no a/c but fans that kept us cool at night. service at mango bay was 5-star, with staff going above and beyond to ensure you had a pleasant stay. for example, when you first arrive, the resort manager gives you a brief orientation about their facilities while you sip on complimentary fresh juice, and use a scented towlette to freshen yourself. another perk, each room comes with a straw bag with 2 beach towels and complimentary sunscreen, which was a really nice touch. finally, rooms are checked twice-a-day: in the morning to make your bed and replenish towels, and at night to setup the mosquito net around your bed and burn citronella coils for added comfort. this is the type of service you will expect at mango bay. food at the restaurant was some of the best we had in vietnam, with plenty of choices and even a separate vegetarian menu. prices are not cheap, but considering the portions, service, and quality, i'd say it was reasonable. now, for the beach... our main goal at phu quoc was to bum it on the beach all day and that's exactly what we did! imagine your own private cove, swimming in warm, crystal blue water, or sipping on a cocktail while lounging on one of the many cabanas dotted around the beach. we must have lost track of time because next thing you know, we witnessed an epic sunset over the gorgeous gulf of thailand. if you're looking to get away from the crowds, and an isolated beach vibe is what you're looking for, mango bay is for you!

We had a lovely time at the Camia Resort, the first hotel of our stay in Phu Quoc and definitely the right choice for us! Impeccably designed and landscaped, the huts are dotted along a hill and the beach bar/restaurant is right over the water with world-class views of the sunset. The breakfast buffet was the favourite of our trip. The 3 layered iced coffee was also the best - make sure you try it! The hotel is small enough to have a personal feel, which we loved. Very relaxing lounge section by the water (but no real beach). However, it's very quick and easy to get to Ong Lang beach (taxi). 2 complaints - they neglected to serve us a welcome drink. We were left there in the heat with nothing. The welcome drink voucher did not work for us, we would have preferred something lovely at the onset. The food at the beach bar is not the best. Some of the Vietnamese fare was ok or good, the pizza was not good. Rooms were gorgeous!!! Fantastic veranda with Hammock too!

We had good stay at Elwood with our family and a group of friends. We really like the bedrooms and the beautiful garden. The staffs were nice and flexible Minor thing was the room arrangement. We booked a family bungalo with two bedrooms and a kitchen. It turned out the kitchen was outside, not in between the bedrooms. Because of this inconvenience, The kitchen were dirty because nobody use them, even the cleaners did not clean it. Therefore, we did not use it either, even they have all the kitchen equipment!

This is a lovely hotel just a two minute walk to a really beautiful beach. The staff are extremely friendly, warm and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble for them, especially the lady on reception who spoke great English. The pool area is very comfortable and pool towels and mats are provided if you want to take them down the beach. There is no bar or restaurant directly next to the hotel, the village is about a 10 minute walk away from the beach. This is fine during the day and early evening, but a little bit dark/errie after 11 p.m (a few stray dogs and a general lack of street lights, even with a torch we still got growled at!). Ong Lang is a very chilled out and relaxing place and we would definitely recommend staying here over Long Beach and we found this hotel to be perfect for our needs.

Great quiet spot surrounded by the nature, comfortable room (shower as well), wonderful clean pool, beautiful garden, best Barman best Mai Tai in Vietnam. Friendly staff. There is a small village 25 mn walk in the nature "left way" / 10mn walk from the beach "right way". We loved Ong Lang Village! amazing & simple chillax moments. Unfortunately, there is no more "Happy Hour" or "Free Happy hour". :-( Just an advice: it would be better to listen relax / jazz / folk music instead of dance / techno / house, it is unpleasant during evening time when people are looking for serenity in a sharing moment. Even more when someone is reading a book as we saw then please, you should change your playlist. ;-) Tx.

The resort was excellent and have nothing but positive things to say about it. If I went back I would only go to the resort and relax around the pool. The beach at the end of the road, Ong Lang is dirty with garbage everywhere. Yes it is rainy season but the amount of Garbage in and around the beach was too much. We live in Vietnam and see this often, just not in Phu Quoc.

La Casa resort was a haven! Situated near a superb, quiet and clean beach (10 minute walk), clean and comfy bed, a lovely garden full of well looked after flowers and tropical trees, bike available for rent for free, simple but clean and delicious buffet breakfast, nice swimming pool and a restaurant that makes one of the best mango milkshakes (sinh to xoai) and seafood/vegetable bbqs!!! We were above and beyond satisfied. Mr Bill (the receptionist) spoke excellent English and was so accommodating of our family. Amongst many things, when we left the resort and realised we had left some things by mistake, he arranged for a taxi to deliver them to us and we were able to recover all the items safely! Many heartfelt thanks to Mr Bill and the rest of the team at La Casa. The only constructive feedback I would like to give is that the cleaning staff came in too early, around 9.30am, when the guests were still in the room! Later afternoon would be better I think!

Recommended. This place has the BEST food! We ventured out a few times and every time regretted it. In fact, one evening we went across the street for dinner and then decided to just go back to Isabella for second dinner! 😜 The staff here is AMAZING. They make you feel at home. They offer help and smile without ever being pushy. They make excellent drinks and bring them right to the pool! The hotel is clean with beautiful grounds. The pool is perfect! They have a great pool table, bikes free of charge and quick walk to the beach. Book it!

Spent 16 days in Cottage Village in Jan/Feb. It is a distance from the airport and taxis are not cheap. The Resort does provide a pick up service but attempted contact by email was unsuccessful. That's the extent of the negatives. The Resort has an excellent pool with plenty of seating/sun beds around it for those who don't make it to the beach which is a handy 500m cycle away. The beach of Ong Lang is pristine with safe swimming. Coco Palm Resort is right on the beach for an evening juice, beer or cocktail while watching the sunset. The in house dining is so so and a little on the costly side but there are a number of local restaurants within walking or cycling distance. Breakfast of local fruits and an eclectic selection of pre-prepared dishes along with eggs how you like them is good - every day a new adventure! The poolside cottage room was excellent with a nice balcony to enjoy a morning read before direct sun drives you to the sun beds or beach. Staff are courteous and efficient and the whole resort is professionally run. Tours can be booked directly from the reception. There is an amount of low rise building happening which will only add to the general area with time. Until then, Cottage Village is the best option for a budget, quality stay on Pho Quok.

This wonderful small hotel is family run by a family without hotel experience but they compensate it with a very friendly atmosphere. They have luckily hired a receptionist with some experience but evenso they managed to double-book rooms so we did have to change room twice. The 11 bungalow rooms are better than the pictures shown by Agoda and the garden is fantastic and will be even better. They work constantly with the garden and are also building some more bungalows. They have the best part of Ong Lang beach which is much better than Long Beach where we also stayed. They could without problem double the number of rooms without the place being crowded but I hope they dont because now it is perfect for couples/families who want to relax. If you want to party go somewhere else. It is far to the city so you have to take a taxi. On the other hand you can afford to take a taxi every day. It will anyhow be cheaper than a hotel on Long Beach. The reastaurant service is not very quick but again friendly. The free breakfast is limited but extension cheap. English knowledge is limited to poor. Spa mentioned in Agoda page dont exist. The new international airport is on the other side of town so the taxi cost is min US$ 20

We stayed in a superior room but my daughter had a hill side room which did have a larger tv by far and bed just slightly more in the trees - so not much in it for the extra price. Staff were so helpful, breakfast had a great variety, the beach was kept really clean and fine if you want to snorkel or swim with plenty of sandy areas. Many people were fishing or playing darts. Sun beds and plenty of hammocks on the beach. Happy hour cocktails from 4:30 for 2 hours. Within easy access of Ong Lang beach, restaurants and shops to buy drinks and beers if required. Great taxi service picked us up from the airport- complimentary. I would recommend this place having stayed in Hanoi and HCMC as it was pure relaxation.

Nice place in a walking distance to the beach (15 min), restaurants and shops (20-25 min). Green territory. Big, comfortable, stylish houses with terrace. Staff tried their best to be helpful, we got all we needed from them, but it was not easy because of their little English. There are many local karaoke bars in the area, so in some days there were very loud music and singing, very specific for western people, I must say. But I guess it's the common problem now for all the area, not only for this hotel. Small roads to the beach and restaurants are without any lights, so don't forget to grab the electric torch from the house while walking late in the evenings.

Simply put, best place we've stayed while traveling in SEA for past 3 months. We initially booked 3 night but extended to 6. This is the best location on the island, you are 4-5 min walk from beach but not paying beach-front prices. The beach it self is one of the best on the island. Side note, you can use the umbrella and chairs in the beach for free, no need to buy anything (which are owned by the Coco Palm Resort). We used them every day and no one hassled or bothered us. You are close to incredible food. And you are away from the crowds of main town. The rooms are new and beautiful, great bathroom with great hot water pressure. The owners are extremely sweet and kind, they want to make sure you are enjoying your self. The breakfasts are the best weve had in Thailand, Vietnam or Cambodia. Several options to choose from but i always ordered the omelete, fresh bread, coffee, fruit, and a banana pancake - All included in free breakfast. Im not sure if they indend to keep the free pancakes. They started dishing out pancakes to everyone the second morning of our stay and kept yhem coming every morning after :) A couple things to be aware of, they want to hold on to your passports while you stay at their guesthouse/hotel. Apparently there are "shake downs" on the island by police and if they cant prove their (the owners) guests they are required to pay a fine - $500. You will also need to ask to have your room cleaned, they are not proactive in cleaning which is the only reason i gave them a 4/5 on the entire review. Cheers and enjoy your holiday here!!!

Bo Resort is more rustic than most places on Phu Quoc. However, the beach seems to be the best of all three resorts on this location. The owners are friendly, the food is probably the best on the island. The bungalow (it was a standard not a deluxe one) was traditional and rustic, yet comfortable. Bo is supposed to have hot water, though we were not able to experience it. But it was just a detail, as we loved staying at this endearing place, not for luxury lovers, but for those who like being closer to nature, and don't mind a little isolation.

This is really an ecological hotel next to a lake. It doesn't have any facilities and have dogs. The place is abit run down and not very well kept. I think it will look fantastic if they have done better maintenance to the hotel and the toilet is very small and doesn't have enough hot water. Food wise is not bad, they have very nice Vietnamese hotpot. If you are a couple looking for a place to just relax and do nothing except reading, this is a place you can stay as it is quiet. If you are travelling with kids and seniors family group, this is not the place for you and is not suitable for people who wants to look for a happening hangout. Bring mosquito repellent, as there will be a lot of mosquitoes and insects at night.

Ninila is really amazing value for money. You can easily spend entire days just going between the pool and the beach (I did) eating your way through the restaurants (both cheap and expensive) in the Ong Lang beach area. I did! I actually preferred the closest beach to Ninila (left turn out of the driveway) to Sao Beach during my stay. It was super chill, sunset over the water and far fewer people. Easy 20 min walk or borrow a bike and get there super quick. A nice escape from the busy tourist vibes of a lot of the island. The owner Sunny is an absolute sweetheart and would do anything to make your stay comfy. The pool is the best part though, would look stylish in a 5* hotel. I had a great time and really relaxing visit to Phu Quoc for a fraction of the cost of a resort (and still enjoyed a fancy meal at Mango Bay). Thanks!

When we arrived we were first told that our original room was not available due to refurbishment but instead of giving us a room at the same value, they gave us an upgrade. The rooms were cleaned very well daily and 2 free bottles of water were provided daily. The staff are able to assist well with activities on the island and can arrange motorbikes daily for a very cheap price. The hotel is in a good location however it is quite far from the town but we did not mind that. There is a nice pool where you can chill at and there is drinks that are well priced for the island being a tourist resort. We both loved our 8 days at this hotel and would urge anyone if they have the opportunity to stay here.

This hotel located at the ong lang beach which is kind of isolated, but you would get away from all the hype. This resort is pricey, so not everybody would choose this place to stay. Overall stay is good, but beware of the mosquitos at night, although the resort staff will come to put some mosquito coils in the villa, it would be better that you apply some insect repellant. Just ask the hotel staff to get a taxi or you can rent a bike and ride around the island or get to the duong dong town. The pool sunset view is great. Its a nice place for total relaxation.

First, I want to say thank you to Hau and hotel's staff, you are very friendly and kindly. Hau is a best guider that I know. I have been for 3 nights and feeling very good when stay there. The price is cheap but service is very very good and it is better than my expected. It is not in center of Duong Dong but it is not my concerning because we can get to market or central in 5~10 minutes by mobike. If you find a hotel with modern conviniences, it is not a choice. The hotel have minimum facility but it is nice and clean, it make me live in natural and forget noisy living in the city. Although it is the small hotel but breakfast is good and it is changed day by day. Hotel have full service such as mobike retal, laundry and you can also order lunch or dinner with traditional food. It is not enough word to tell about Phu Quoc Peace and I will recomment it to others and sure that I will be back if have chance.

I feel it is a bit of a shame to give this place a mediocre review, as it could be great, but never quite gets there. The rooms are fine, large and simply decorated, with an shower/loo open to the stars at the back (wear insect repellant for evening visits!). The bed was hard as rock though, and after 5 nights were are both stiff. The room was clean when we arrived, but after 4 nights we had to ask someone to at least empty the toilet paper bin as no one comes in to check anything. Only one person speaks any English, and that is scant at best. This is fine, I don't expect everyone to speak English but many times we thought our requests had been understood, with "yes yes", but in actually fact nothing had registered. The breakfasts were not great, but again, it's a budget hotel so don't expect much but as a result we decided never to eat there for our evening meal. Even though there were only ever 2 of us at breakfast, the food never came out at the same time. Our room backed on to a local village house, which was noisy with tv and karaoke until the small hours sometimes. This is not the fault of the hotel at all, but they maybe should talk to the neighbours about being considerate. We didn't use the spa facilities. It is a fair walk to the beach (15 mins maybe) so recommend a scooter (and to explore the northern beaches). We hired ours from the village as the aroma spa ones were a lot more expensive. We had already paid in advance through agoda, but still got presented with the full bill to pay when we left so i had to prove I had already paid. They are just a bit disorganised, but I think with a little help it could be a great place to stay as they are all nice people there. If you are looking for a cheap place it's fine though, for a few nights only.

The name is critically misleading, the seaside is a good 2mn away in motorbike. The neighborhood is very convenient, many minimarts, restaurants, bars and other facilities are accessible on foot. Everything in the homestay is clean, the hosting familly is smiling, nice and efficient. There are about 6 or 7 rooms, all ground floor. Basic amenities and food, small unsurfaced road. The beach is one of the best I have seen in Phu Quoc: there is greenery and zero litter. I recommend.

We booked for 3 nights, but stayed for 8 in total. Dragon resort is very new and fresh. Our room was large, clean and nice equipped. Wifi worked very good. Breakfast is a buffet with omelet, pho and pancakes made on your request + choice of fresh fruits, rice, noodles, salads, vegetables, cereals, bread, tea, coffee, juices etc. It was really good and if can eat once a day it can be enough for a whole day:) Pool is clean. If you're staying in a rooms then I recommend 109 on the ground floor, or any of two above (can't remember numbers). Some people complained about kids at school near by. It might be an issue in the first 2-3 bungalows, but in our room we couldn't hear nothing. Resort is not at the beach. But you can get a free transport to the beach, or you can take a free bicycle (less than 5 minutes ride), or just walk (probably around 10 minutes) There is no big choice of places to eat around, but just next to the Resort there is great and cheap small bbq restaurant. Better than night market in town. In general the area is not the best bet for partying, but it's good for relax.And we were very happy with that. There is also a restaurant in the Resort, but I must admit we didn't try it. We liked the place and if you don't need to stay in hotel at the beach it's a great place.

The bungalows were brand new and perfectly located near to some tasty and non very pricey restaurants. There was motorbike rental place and two spa/massage salons just around the corner. The manager-Tai was really nice and helpful. He recommended us a great lounge open-air bar (Mitori) with super tasty coctails and food. The bungalows are definitely worth trying. Great value for money! The best place we have seen so far in Phu Quoc.
