This hotel is excellent in every aspect. It's quite surprising since we had to keep our shoes in the locker before getting into the hotel. Because the hotel floor is covered by tatami in every place, including the corridor, restaurant, and in guest rooms. So it makes this hotel unique and very clean. The service was excellent. All staffs have a good service mind. They are eager to help us with everything. The breakfast and dinner were excellent. The dinner course was a kaiseki, which made us impress a lot. The food was delicious. We recommend you buy breakfast and dinner in this hotel. The onsen was very good too, there are many kinds of onsen that you can try. Absolutely recommend this hotel !!

A lovely onsen with magnificent views from the room, especially in winter! The rooms are incredibly spacious, clean and comfortable, with a lovely selection of yukatas. The room package included an exclusive and elaborate dining experience, with an impressive and beautifully prepared dinner and breakfast. The hotel also offers surprises like Japanese desserts, snacks and cultured drinks at various times of the day. Highly recommend a stay here if you visit Shirakawago.

A hidden gem ”
A beautiful and very spacious room for a family of four. Amazing view of the surrounding snow covered mountains and river from our room. Very comfortable beds. The Japanese styled meals were delicious and filling and onsen was amazing! A short drive to the gingerbread houses of Shirakawa-go and the observation area higher up. Overall an excellent stay, highly recommend it.

I wish staying in this hotel for longer if I could. The meals are well designed and delicious. The atmosphere is chill and relaxing. Perfect with the hot springs which you can go for a public one for bigger pools or a private one with your family / beloved. The rooms and facilities are clean and well-maintained. And they offer free parking. Very good deal for such service and food.

We decide quite last min on this stay. Didn’t expect hotel can provide vegan meals ( 4 of us are non beef & one is vegan ). Emailed hotel and they responded within a day ok request. Very details attention asked to our request. The dinner was amazing to us. It was a 9course meals. Same surprise goes to breakfast too. Not only delicious food but the view frm restaurant is an added points to fantastic dining experience for us. Just imagine u are sitting at the window overlooking nice Shirakawago snow view while you are eating.

Well located and Good facilities”
The accommodation is located about 2 km from the centre of Shirakawa-Go village. Very clean and spacious rooms. I was impressed by the 4 different public bath it offers and particularly like the one with the rectangular opening, at which, I can watch the serenity of the falling snow while soaking in the onsen through the opening. There are also 2 private onsen that you can use if you are more comfortable to be on your own ( I had tried too but I preferred the public bath as there are shower facilities) You can help yourself with the yogurt drink after the morning soak or ice cream in the afternoon outside the bath area. We were glad that Amazake was offered at the welcome drink corner and had enjoyed it very much. My stay includes half-board and the meals are sumptuous. Parking is easy for us and ample parking lots.

Best stay in the trip”
The hotel is just 5 min driving distance from Shirakawa-go. There is a big parking area and you no need to worry about car parking. We are surprised that the dinner set and breakfast set are super delicious. You can enjoy the hot spring until midnight. All the clothing and towel have been prepared in a basket and it’s definitely user-friendly. I would definitely recommend this hotel to you if you have road trip, as this hotel is located a bit far from the city.

Yui No Sho (important you spell it this way otherwise it will not show up on Google or Apple maps) We chose this hotel due to the many positive reviews and the property being newly built. We really loved our stay here and it was the highlight of our time in the Gifu prefecture. Yui No Sho is a traditional style Ryokan but newly built I believe 3 - 4 years ago. The fact that they are operational shows their resilience and they should be commended for that in itself. One of the reviews I read really nailed it for me and was the one that got me to book here in the first place. I am going to give a similar perspective here. As I get older I like the idea of being this hopeless romantic and booking myself into character traditional properties filled with charm and history however, every time I do I am not as comfortable as I want to be. Now finally I can be honest with myself and realize that I simply prefer modern spaces and amenities for lodging and prefer to leave the charm at the sites I get to visit instead. Yui No Sho had mostly glowing positive reviews but there are a few negative reviews in particular that Google puts at the top that I found misleading and out of context. This was their experience but not reflective of the property overall. These reviews gave me anxiety and almost prevented me from booking and having a great experience. To set the record straight the hotel offers shuttles in the am, 8:00am - 11:15am and in the pm 3:10pm - 5:20pm. If you can't figure out your rides in those windows you are SOL. It is very clear and posted right at the front desk. Breakfast and Dinner were both substantial meals, as well as refreshments, popsicles and even late night ramen. Not the most delicious food I have had but in the setting all in all the total experience is pretty good. Service was rushed but again they are working volume here so it is understandable. But NO they do NOT offer lunch service which is understandable because the majority of guests are at

Amazing relaxing experience ”
The room is very spacious for two people with amazing snow scenery. They provided tea and coffee drip bags in the room. There is the calm music theme playing in the hallway, it makes you feel peaceful. Foods for dinner and breakfast are local japanese style which are super amazing. There’s also private onsen which is quite convenient for foreigners who feels uncomfortable to be naked in the public like me. However, the location is quite far to the bus station. But they offered shuttle bus service starts at 3:15 pm to pick you up to the hotel (You can confirm this at Tourist Information Center). The return trip starts at 9am or something.

Only onsen Hotel can book in Shirakawago ”
I think as a non-Japanese, it is the only place you can find of a Onsen hotel in Shirakawago. The hotel is located at the most farer part from the village. Walk by 30 min( I walked 3 times:) love walking, but that is quite too dark after 5:00 at December) The staff are helpful. Just I misunderstood that they will arrange transfer from station to hotel when I come from Takayama very early at 8:10. The travel information Center in Shirakawago actually is quite bad… ( sorry they do helped me, but they give meat least 4 wrong information…) They helped me called to the hotel and they told me the hotel will not send any car come so I have walk there with my luggage or store my suitcase there. ( I don’t want to because I planned to stay after dinner)—> single traveler didn’t have dinner included in my package, so I decide to eat in a local restaurant nearby.) Which if I store my luggage at station so k have to walking in the dark with my luggage… I don’t think is good idea, but if I walk to the hotel with luggage and turn back probably take me a lot of time that I prefer to spend more time in the village. At the moment when I thinking what should I do in the station, I saw their car arrive to the station. They are dropping off the traveler, so I asked the driver can he drink meto the hotel. Luckily he help me… that is a raining morning, I already wet without an umbrella…. If not I need to walk under the rain 30 min to the hotel… probably will make me the worst memory of my whole journey… thanks a lot for the driver who save me. When I arrive they help me to store the luggage and bollow me an umbrella, so I can walk back to the village. Beside of the check in part, I love most of the things in the hotel, the Onsen ( single one so very prefect) the noodle at night, the snacks, the breakfast, the indoor wear. Although the price is just like I paying a double for a single traveler, I still think that worth it( but be true, this kind of Onsen hotel is better stay with f

Excellent meal and services there. You can rent yukata and try both public and private baths for free. The room was clean and tidy, and I could enjoy the gorgeous view from the room. There are shuttle bus between the hotel and the bus station, so transport is not a problem.

Fantastic View from Onsen”
The location is a bit off the main area of Shirakawago so the shuttle bus service is a must. However, the resort is fabulous with fantastic food. Highlight for us is the view from the Onsen, it is like looking out to a picture. Definitely recommend that travellers who have the time to do so to spend a night here.

Expensive but worth the money ”
I love Shirakawa-go, and this Ryokan was in such a good location and well designed. Comfortable rooms. Amazing, literally amazing food, and the baths were beautiful and spacious and lovely. The cost is high and I don’t know if I’d go again because of it, but worth it for a spurge or with a group.
