Amazing value for my money!”
Pros great location. Basically within 1-2 miles to everything. Two markets within 50 ft. Two elevators and great lobby. Reception area was very inviting and reception staff was accommodating and attentive to the max. Staff spoke about 5 languages that I noticed and were always willing to help with any requests. The price I paid at the time was under $70 per night which was amazing for the service, the quality of the rooms, the cleanliness, and the location. They even had room service until 11pm every night and laundry service!!! You cannot get that in a hostel near this area for under $70 per night. The rooms and bathrooms were very very clean. And some more moderns than others. I stayed in 3 different rooms at different levels just to try it out. Each room I stayed at had a fridge. Some fridge better than others. Wonderful place, legit. It was like being in a 4-5 star hotel back home in the USA. Will always come back every time! No cons for me!!!

Exceptional”
Cecilia at the reception is the sweetest and kindest! I'm a solo traveller and she ensured that my stay is comfortable and was also guiding me on how to commute via public transport , giving me pointers about places to visit and eat and shop. A BIG HUG to Cecilia , SHE IS THE BEST <3

Location, location, location!”
This hotel is very well located. The Barrio Gotico is walking distance and Liceu train stop is just feets away to connect you to all the main attractions. The staff is very friendly and go out of their way to make your stay what you expect it to be. It is family friendly (traveled with a 3 y/o). Only advise is, if you want a quiet room ask for one that’s not in front of La Rambla.

Cost effective solution, excellent position”
For those who are not scared of Rabla confusion, this hotel is a good choice: on the Rambla, just few meters from Liceu M-Station, 200mt from Plaça Reial for night-life-lovers. The hotel is in an old building and the hall/reception is impressive. Rooms are quite basic, but very large and comfortable. Some services are missing (e.g. iron and table, refrigerator, fitness room, boiler in the room, etc), but personnel is very friendly and helpful as far as they can.

Lovely hotel! ”
Great location, I was worried about the noise at night in such a busy area, however this was not an issue, as I was not disturbed once. The rooms were clean, the beds were comfortable and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Awful Rooms”
I have stayed here previously because of the location but never again. We booked 3 rooms and all of them just as bad as the other. The rooms were horrible. They were bleak and old fashioned with no tea/coffee making facilities or fridge. The beds were rock hard and the pillows were like bullets. The breakfast is ok but nothing to write home about. It was the worst hotel room I have ever stayed in so we were really disappointed. The owners of this hotel should be ashamed at the quality of the rooms.

How I love this quirky hotel ”
In June we returned here for the second time. This time we had a Ramblas room overlooking the Ramblas with a little balcony - loved it ! The balcony doors were doubled glazed and did keep out most of the noise when we wanted to sleep, the Metro runs under the Ramblas so I was aware of a bit of rumbling later on when the cafés had closed and most people had gone home but I didn't book a room like this expecting a silent night. The room was clean and comfortable and had everything I wanted/needed except for a full length mirror so I could check how my holiday clothes looked. The staff are so friendly, cheerful and helpful couldn't ask for more. Yes,the marble entrance hall and stair case could do with some renovation but if you want a perfect hotel - book a modern box elsewhere with no character. The hotel is charming in it's "faded glory". I know its a bit pricey for a three star hotel but its the location in the heart of the Rambla that for me is the essence of coming to Barcelona. Hotel Oriente - I love you x

Couldn't fault it”
Took my mum 86, mother in law 84, sister in law 63. Upgraded to deluxe room. The room was spotless, lovely little balcony which was great for people watching. Room had tea, coffee, free soft drinks in fridge, safe & toiletries. We overlooked La Rambla on the 2nd floor. When we closed the French doors we could hear slight traffic noise but nothing to keep us awake. We certainly couldn't hear any people noise. The location of the hotel is excellent right in the middle of La Rambla, opposite Placa Riel. We arrived at 10.00am not expecting our rooms to be ready but we're delighted when we were told they were. The staff were very pleasant and even came to sort out a problem with our safe at 1 in the morning. Would highly recommend this hotel, had a lovely time.

Lovely hotel with big rooms, excellent location”
we enjoyed our staying in the hotel. i see this hotel with a great potential, if i was the manager i would request a review on the collors used in the reception area. it doesn't make justice to the arquitecture. lighter collours would bring more life and atmosphere in the hotel. customer service was excellent. the location of this hotel is fantastic! i consider that we paid a fair price for the room. i should recommend this hotel to friends and family. barcelona is a fantastic city! people are friendly and the food is simply superb!

clean, simple hotel with a great location”
Having never been to Barcelona before I'm not able to compare this hotel with another in Barcelona but it overall it was a reasonable hotel. It's not a flash hotel, but then it is not overly expensive. The best thing about this hotel is the location. It is very close to the metro station and actually on La Rambla. I had heard this hotel was noisy because of the street but I had no problems with street noise and the check in staff even asked what sort of room I wanted (facing the street or not). In fact the only noise came from guests during the middle of the night. There are countless bars and cafes right outside the hotel so there is no shortages of places to eat or drink, however the rooms did not have tea or coffee facilities which would have been nice. The bathroom was clean and functional as was the room. As a solo traveller looking to explore Barcelona it is perfect and I would definitely stay again. However if you are a couple you might want to look at hotels with a few more amenities.

Old style hotel but with the great location”
Located on Las Ramblas, close to Plaza Cataluna, in the very center of the city. The room is clean, but the facilities are a bit old. Every morning cleaning lady was knocking at the door, which was annoying. But the location of the hotel make it special.

Great location”
The location has to be the best things about the hotel. I am familiar with Barcelona and if you want a central location, on La Rambla then there is no better option. The breakfast selection is great too. The rooms are very basic, although we did have a balcony overlooking La Rambla. On the downside, the hotel front desk staff are not very welcoming at all. It is hilarious how rude they are! There is no fridge or wifi in the room either.

Barcelona City Break”
The Oriente is a moderately priced 3 star hotel perfectly situated on La Rambla one of Barcelona's top tourist areas. It is one of the oldest hotels in Barcelona but is reasonably well maintained with the public areas in good decorative order. Our room had comfortable twin beds pushed together to form a double. The bathroom was clean with hair drier and reasonably powerful shower. The room was simply decorated almost to the point of being austere. It overlooked La Rambla so there was an issue with noise until the early hours of the morning and impossible to sleep with the window open. This wasn't much of an issue in March but could be a problem for light sleepers in the summer months. The free wifi was flaky, slow and we were unable to connect to it at all on the first night. There was a TV in the room but no English language channels other than Sky News. However, who goes to Barcelona to watch TV? We are late risers so didn't sample the Oriente's breakfast. There are plenty of restaurants within easy walking distance of the hotel but all offering similar menus; tapas can become a little tedious after a couple of days. The Oriente lacks the facilities, comfort and ambiance to make it any more than a place to sleep after a long day exploring Barcelona but it performs this role well.
