Staff was good, the usual Japanese expectations. Place was a bit dated. Besides your own place, there’re no communal baths or other facilities. Bath inside own premise was fine. Dinner was good. Beef was excellent. No shuttle from the station, so you have to trek 20min yourself if you took the train/bus, a bit of a dampener there. Would try others with this sorta price.

We had a half-board stay with upgraded meal and private onset. The room was beyond our expectation. The design for Oyado Kaikatei Ryokan was a like a village and each guest could have a house of their own, including a sitting room, bedroom, bathroom, a tea-area, an indoor onsen and an outdoor onsen. The water in the onsen was slightly salty but we felt like its more like a hot water bath. Yet, we still spent much time enjoying the onsen and idling in the room, which was perfect for our vacation. The upgraded dinner option entailed a set of beef, which tasted extraordinary. However, the rest of the meal was not as good as the meals we had in other onsen-hotels. The staff were welcoming and attentive. They had even prepared us both hot water and cold water for drinking in our house. There was a little leaflet on our house's table, recommending us to go out to see firefly nearby. It was an exceptional experience.

Romantic anniversary trip”
The staff is nice, we have our private room for dinner and breakfast. The room we stay is not only a room, I would like to say it like a house, they had 2 hot springs. One is inside and one is outside. You can do both during the winter. It’s a very good place to stay for taking a very good rest and think nothing with your hubby. Highly recommended. But it’s a bit far away from the Yufu station, the hotel did not provide pick up service, so better take a cap to there.

Great Ryokan in Yufuin area with high privacy”
Very impress for the individual house with large area for living room, bedroom, bathroom and outdoor onsen. Staffs are very friendly, helpful, polite and good in English communication. Both Kaiseiki Dinner and Breakfast in private room are fantastic with very good quality and very delicious. We drive the car there with free parking. The facilities are clean and well maintenance.

Relaxing stay for family with private onsen preference”
We are traveling with a group of senior people from Thailand who are not accustom to bathing with strangers so they really enjoy the private in-room indoor/outdoor onsen and reservation-only outdoor big bath. We enjoy both dinner and breakfast. Beef Yakiniku at dinner is surprisingly good. Bedding is comfortable. The garden is well landscaped. The hospitality is excellent despite even though we do not fully understand each other. It was a very pleasant stay.

not close to train station and no pick up service, but not expensive to travel by taxi (USD 10 only). Inside the room, I can enjoy indoor and outdoor Onsen. And also I can reserve the public Onsen which is much bigger for private use. very nice food provided for dinner and breakfast. really enjoy the stay.

Dinner and breakfast quality is good Location is near to the main street with aeon nearby which in 5 min drive Room is a bit dark Large room Outside onsen is great Didn't provide water for free but can buy from Aeon ( max value ) nearby Can improve service - they have set the dining table but we changed seat as the sofa table is too far form kid and the waitress is obviously not happy with that Can give credit as they remember the seating next day for breakfast

The dinner and breakfast are very nice, With cozy rooms with hot spring inside. The staff are very welcoming. The facilities in the rooms are excellent. However, there are some room to improve the cleanliness inside the rooms, which some dust and spider web were found in corners.
