Impressive!”
1. The staff picked us up from the bus station on time 2. Kaiseiki dinner and breakfast in room were awesome! Fresh and scrumptious 3. It was lovely that they put a little birthday card on the shasimi plate as it was my fiancé's birthday 4.The front desk staff was super helpful. I lost my wallet in the JR train, the front desk to help me call the JR staff. We didn't reach the JR the first few call but he kept trying until successful

First in Japan, Loved staying there”
Staffs are very kind and helpful, able to communicate in English. Just remind it’s a 10~15 min walking distance from bus terminal and the road was slippery in winter. But we didn’t mind since everything in there were wonderful, likewise Food, hot spring, people and so on. Love to revisit for sure.

Superb services and Nice hotel with indoor and outdoor onsens.”
The staffs were friendly and attentive. They even cleaned up our baggage covered with snow. Nice location with just 2 mins walking distance from the hotel to the public bus station. The room was clean and spacious. We enjoyed the stay throughout.

One of the best accommodation choice ever”
Well let's just say I am already planning for a return trip just for Oyado Kiyomizuya.

Excellent”
Location good. Hotel quite old maybe due to it's traditional Japanese style. Outdoor onsen nice. Staff nice and they are very nice to park the car. Outdoor onsen for ladies from 9:30am to 9pm only, for men from 9:30pm to 9am as the hotel has only one outdoor onsen.

Nice, old-school relaxing onsen”
the service is good, as always. Place is a bit old and so are the rooms and facilities. But the food was awesome and onsen was great. We had a great time there.

Good but could be better”
The dinner was really delicious and great to receive everything in your own room but unfortunately we were a bit disappointed with the onsen facility. Only one outside bath that was available half a day. Not many products provided

Super nice staff, amazing food. Overall, the best value stay!”
I primarily chose Oyado Kiyomizuya for its privately-served kaiseki ryori. It was definitey worth it. Food was amazing! Also, really nice staff, and this ryokan is not crowded or franchised like other mega hotel onsens, which was another deciding factor for me. It's located in the middle of the tiny Noboribetsu town, which makes it walkable for everything. The only downfall would be a small, tiny onsen, but if you're planning to stay in Noboribetsu for a duration of time, I would definitely recommend staying at Oyado Kiyomizuya for at least a night.

Great way to experience the Japanese culture”
We had a very warm stay at Oyado Kiyomizuya Onsen. All the staff is caring and attentive (we were welcomed in by the owner himself), the room is true Japanese Tatami style where both dinner and breakfast are both served inside our room. The meals are both very delicious, and you will be very full afterwards. There were like 10 courses (in tasting menu portion) for dinner! There are indoor and outdoor onsen pools; however since they only have one outdoor pool, they alternate the times between men and women. The pools are not particularly big, but it is still a great way to relax. The hotel itself is located off the main Noboribetsu street, but it is a mere five to ten minute walk to all the attractions like the bear park and souvenir shops. There is no Internet available in the rooms, but you can use the free wifi in the lobby. Overall we had a very pleasant stay, and would definitely go back.

Superb attentive staff”
once we reached noboribetsu bus terminal, we told tourist information staff we are going to Oyado Kiyomizuya, she called them & they picked us up for free. Staff volunteers to offer information about the area. Breakfast is served in room. The staff keeps changing hot water for us & gave mochis everyday. Great onsen experience, consist of an outdoor & indoor onsen , best thing is that there are no tour groups to disturb you. . We met friendly staff who help us wear yukata. We have English, style bedrooms but we opt for Japanese style & they help us set up. The only sad thing is there's no wifi in rooms, only at lobby. Definitely will stay there again. The town is very small, so all the attractions are within walking distance.

Lovely and quiet ryokan in Noboribetsu”
Nicely located on a quiet roadside quite close to all of the main tourist sights in Noboribetsu (although some you need to take a bus ride for roughly 15 to 20 minutes). At night, all you can hear is the river flowing outside of your room which is kind of soothing. Staff was very polite, helpful, and attentive. Room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. Onsen was relaxing, and has both indoor and outdoor option. Overall it was a nice stay at Oyado Kiyomizuya.

Ryokan hospitality at its best!”
It was our first onsen experience and we did not regret making a last minute decision to stay in noboribetsu overnight. It was also during low season so we had the place all to ourselves! We opted for the Kaiseki breakfast after we had a morning hike to the onsen source and foot bath (which is very near to the hotel by the way). The hotel is also tolerant with guests with tattoos, I have a half sleeve tattoo and they advised me to either cover the tattoo or use the facility later in the evening when there are no other guests around (a roll of kt tape did the trick!) Their staff spoke good english too! Overall it was an amazing experience in noboribetsu, I can only imagine the colors of winter/spring/autumn would bring to this lovely place - i wish to come back and stay again in Oyado Kiyomizuya.

Authentic and Traditional”
Enjoyed a wonderful Ryokan experience. We spent 1 night at Noboribetsu, a traditional ryokan stay will be the right way to stay. Once we got off the JR station at Noboribetsu, we had to get on the local bus which will bring us to the Noboribetsu Onsen Bus Station (11 stops, 10mins), after which we contacted the hotel and they came with a hotel van to fetch us to the ryokan. This seems the usual practice there and they are quite efficient. We checked in on time, while looking forward to our kaiseki dinner, we spent the time wondering around jigokudani and the shopping street. Place is old but properly maintained. Staffs are polite and courteous and felt genuine, although the command of english is limited. really impressed with the staff that took care of us single handedly... made our dinner, table layout, served us, laid our futons, kept our futons the next day, laid our table for kaiseki breakfast again, etc. Really a fine & rare gem found.

Great service with real experience of Ryokan”
Our first impression for Oyado Kiyomizuya is "traditional" and "authentic" ryokan, which is exactly what we're looking for. The manager spoke perfect English, he was very helpful with all the details, upgraded us to bigger rooms!! and recommended us what to see in Noboribetsu. As we booked the hotel with Half-board package, so we were asked during check in straight away what time we prefer to have our dinner and if everyone is ok to eat pork and fish. Then a japanese lady guided us to our rooms - although she can't speak English but she's very friendly and helpful :) Kaiseki-style Dinner and Breakfast were served at exact time that we booked, and quality of food was superb!! Futon matt was super comfortable. Onzen wasn't big, but we enjoyed it, especially the outdoor onzen. We definitely would recommend this hotel to friends and would love to go back to stay.

Luxurious, Really Good Service, Very Comfortable”
This hotel came with a rather steep cost but it was definitely worth it. We had the ryokan room with 4 pax and it was big and comfortable. Even had Japanese snacks in the room as a welcome gift. The toilet and shower is separated into 2 different rooms. Service was excellent. Staff was very attentive and patient, and made the effort to go the extra mile. The receptionist called upon the driver to drive us to the bus terminal even though it wasn't part of the package. The same driver drove us to a nearby restaurant for dinner later that night. The onsens are alright, isn't very big but is sufficient if you just want to try or if you have no preference in the type of sulphur it uses. They also have an outdoor onsen, but there is not much of a view and is rather small. But it will suffice if you do not expect much. BREAKFAST WAS SUPERB. So many things to eat and they bring you to a private room to have your breakfast! Really nice food as well. The only downside is that you have to take a bus from Noboribetsu Station to the Noboribetsu Onsen Bus Terminal. From there, you will still have to take a 15-20 minutes walk to this hotel. On a brighter side, this hotel is very near Jigokudani, about 5-8 mins walk. Definitely a good hotel to stay!

helpful and friendly owner and staffs”
I went to Noboribetsu with no knowledge of the available transportation as most of what I found in the internet are in Japanese, upon arrival, I talked to the owner Mr. Iwai, he immediately called on me to make plan (apparently there is tight schedule for public buses and JR trains services), he asked for my schedule and destinations, without further ado, he made plan for me to go to Sapporo the next day and Rusutsu Ski Resort the day after. He wrote out the specific time and place, bus and trains name and even took the trouble to pick up my train tickets downtown (which is at least 20 min away by car). I would have been stranded without the kind and attentive gentleman's help. God Bless You Mr Iwai I like the hotel spa as it opens 24 hour a day and there is an outdoor pool too, although males and ladies have to take turn to use the outdoor spa (man can start using it at 9pm and ladies from 6am onwards) what is great at this hotel is the superb breakfast, the many little dishes of different taste and substance, it is a real authentic Japanese traditional breakfast, they waried it sligthly on the next day too, unfortunately we were unable to try the hotel dinner, apparently it is a Japanese Kaiseki dinner set with all sort of varieties The hotel itself is very traditional Japanese style (that is why we chose it), everything is very clean, I was given a large room with separate tatami living room, they stocked up tea and hot thermos in the room, we do not have to boil water to make the nice ocha there. The hotel is close to a hiking trek which would be very nice to walk around but unfortunately there was snow during my stay, it is also 5 min walk to the major street where food, souvenirs ,convenient stores and bus stations are located. I highly recommend all the Noboribetsu visitors to stay at this nive hotel with a very kind hearted owner

A very nice n traditional onsen ryokan”
Although the size and variety of the onsen at kiyomizuya is much smaller n limited than other hotels at noboribetsu, it provides pleasant service n food. The room is spacious and the view is good ( we stay on the 7th floor) however kaiseki dinner n breakfast r not served at our room.

Recommended, lots of other onsen ryokans available”
After we booked this onsen ryokan, we realized that this is the same accommodation we stayed some 6 years ago, during summer! Winter (from 1 Dec), it gets really pricey, with kaiseki dinner ... There were 3 of us - hubby & 16yo tall boy. We booked a Japanese room with 8 tatami (a little tight) and were upgraded to a room with a separate room with 2 western beds! Dinner & breakfast were served in the room. Both meals were exceptional! Worth the $$$$$ Onsen was great with outdoor tub facing the hills. Really good stay! Highly recommended. It is within 1km to the natural foot bath (slightly uphill) and also within 3-5mins of the main shopping street. Noboribetsu is pretty compact ... shopping street (walk from bus terminal, though we drove), through the Hell Valley hikes and then to the natural foot bath ... a nice round trip ...

Very neat ryokan for traditional stay!”
Hotel is a bit small, but very neat clean and full with amazing staffs. I had very good experience staying at their hotel and onsen. It is a bit small compare to newer hotel, but their location is very close to every major attractions in Noboribetsu onsen. I would reccomend this place and definitely come back again if I visit Noboribetsu.
