Highlight of our trip”
We started our 4 weeks trip in the Philippines on Pamilacan. Thankfully we stayed at Mary's Cottages for 5 nights and could stay even much more longer! Staying there is like feeling home! Mary and her family are so kind and friendly and the cottages are basic but lovely. They cooked for us three times a day seasonal, fresh and healthy meals, it tasted always delicous. Coffee and water are for free as much as you can drink. We had really good conversations and were even invited to the local christmas party what we enjoyed a lot! One day we went out with Mary's son to see different kinds of dolphins what we will never forget (there have been heaps of!). The cottages are located 10 meters in front of the white sand beach. Just swimming a few meters you can find a really nice and still intact coral garden with lots of fishes. If you are you searching for a peaceful, cozy place you will find your paradise at Mary's (if you don't need power and WIFI 24 hours - electricity is just available for a few hours in the evening). At the end of our vacations we can say that it was the highlight of our trip and we recommend everybody to enjoy the beautiful small island and the happy and openhearted family! Thank you very much, Mary! All the best for you and your family!

After five months in Philippines finally a place that fits the idea of natural 'unspoiled' tourism.”
I would highly recommend Mary's Cottages simply because the place offers diverse experiences and activities that are otherwise to expensive or scattered. For 850php/pax/day one can have 3 meals and have nice coffee, experience a well preserved coral reef in front of the house, enjoy nice beaches, visit marine sanctuary(250/pax), interact with local community of the island and enjoy the silence without traffic(only few motorbikes exist on the island). If you are keen on diving or you like whales/dolphins/sea turtles Mary and her assistants can organise everything. There is possibility to rent a go pro for 500php for half day. Mary and her personal are very nice people and this is a perfect place to experience indigenous islander culture. Accommodation is basic but clean and comfortable with electricity running from 5pm till midnight daily. We spent unforgettable 2 days here for Christmas 2016 and met great people.

Marys' in the Philippines”
Mary and her staff are extremely friendly, accommodating and helpful; infact, Mary can arrange pretty much anything you need for you. It cost 2500 peso for 2 for a boat ride back and forth to the island. No running water. It is a fairly small island with very little fresh water. Drinking water is brought in. The food is fresh and tastes delicious and included free water, tea, and coffee. Great snorkeling. Bed was more comfortable than a bamboo hut usually provides and included a fan. Internet/wifi was very intermittent even with my own cell card. Many tourists visit the island from 10-2; otherwise pretty much paradise.

wonderful place”
We really enjoyed our stay at Mary's since the moment they picked us and our luggage up from the diving boat (too big to get closer to the shore, but convenient transport from Alona beach) until Mary walked us to the boat to Bohol. Great location for snorkling, watching dolphines, watching sunsets, swimming with turtles, sunbathing and meeting nice Philippino people. We enjoyed the food a lot, felt like being at home. Cock (rooster) fights on Sunday, since 3pm.

cottage on tiny island”
Mary unfortunately does not check online reservations frequently, so she did not receive our booking when we arrived on Pamilacan. But she was able to find a spot available for us - not idea, as we were looking to stay in the cottage. Our room instead was loud (roosters everywhere!) and hot (no electricity, and since we were not on the beach, no breeze.) We were thankful she found us a spot but overall not impressed with staying more inland. Anyway, her staff members were key - food cooked on site was fresh and delicious, helped us to arrange snorkeling and a ride back to Bohol.

Quiet and lovely”
Pamilacan was a place chosen from the idea of having a quiet place to think about the best things in life. Beautiful sandy beach and easily walkable, from North to South and West to East. Mary has provided my girlfriend and I one of the most warm welcoming in the Philippines. A very good place for a couple.

Very quiet and relaxing, with great staff and food”
If you want a remote place, far from the crowd, here you are. You can visit the island, snorkel, relax. Staff very friendly. Food included and delicious (fresh fish, fruits...) Don't expect running water, only rain water in buckets.

Over priced, bad food”
PROS - Location is ok - rooms clean and spacious CONS - surrounded by loud cockrills, but everywhere is. - food was overpriced and poor quality compared to other places on island (enas-cottages far better) - expensive dolphin tour. We managed to find for p400 enas-cottages. Mary charged p800. - didn't feel too welcome. Think it might have been due to us not taking the full package and not spending all our time there. We explored the island for experiences

Native style, consider the circumstances on this Island ”
We were welcomed by friendly staff. Met Marry later at the evening and had a great birthday dinner. Room was very ok, however a bit noisy. No complaint, just a fact as there are chicken and dogs all around. Breakfast is the only negative aspect. All three days the same, but there are options around. Also have in mind that there is permanent shortage of water on the Island. All in all we enjoyed the stay.

One of the best places we visit”
Mary and her staff are very friendly! We booked one night and extended one more. Its a peaceful and beatiful place. The food is amazing, the massage is great and we saw dolphins! They don't feed them so it's really wild. Everyone in the village take care for each other. The hotel only makes money from sleeping and they forward you to the boat men or massage woman - that's great! Sure everything is simple (accomendation and food) but it's great! So if you don't need a luxury resort this place is a must be! See you again Mary :)

Good but only for one or two nights”
Everything was great. Mary and the team are great. The Island is great. But the CR is pritty bad. There is no running water on the island. Or toilet seats. So its only good for a day or two cause washing yourself becomes a chore. Mary included alleals for our stay, but charged for the boat ride to and from the island.

Amazing!! Must stay”
Mary and all the staff were so kind and generous! We loved staying here and have no complaints! Basic accommodation but very good value. The snorkelling tours and dolphin watching were out of this world and so reasonably priced. Mary made us feel at home. Thanks Mary!!

We had an excellent stay. ”
We were there with a kid and our parents. It was fantastic. Lovely people workin there and take care of you. The owner, Mary is a special and extraordinary person. Good food as well, free tea/ coffee all day long. u can do snorkeling right in their front. there is a coral sanctuary as well. u can go for a delphine watching. But be prepared for following: no electricity between 6.00am-aprx.17.00. Basic rooms, shower/toillet is a bit a challenge, but you don't go there for luxury, we loved it.

Low cost, need to understand this means basic”
Its a very low cost venue. So there is no running water. Toilet is flushed from a sea water butt using a bucket. No running water for shower, same thing, rain water from a butt, pouring water over your head. Food was simple and healthy although I found the batter on the fish more like American pancake. If you want low cost and don't need hotel standards then its fine. The boat ride there can be a wet one.
