Staff are so friendly and the buffet breakfast is awesome. I love how they decorated for Christmas. Definitely recommend.

Disappointing Visit”
Booked a superior double room with garden view & given :- 1. Room on 1st floor overlooking street - it was not a superior double & bathroom really needs a refurb. Went to reception to inform this was not type of room booked. Apology given by receptionist. 2. She then took us to the building overlooking the garden & showed us into a superior double room. All looked good until duvet pulled back to inspect sheets & was horrified to find that the sheet & also duvet cover was covered in hairs, possibly cat hairs!! No way were we sleeping in that bed with that sheet & duvet cover! Back to reception to inform the receptionist, who once again apologised. 3. She gave a key to a different room in the same building. She did not visit the previous room with me to inspect the bed with hairs! The 3rd room was good, it had been refurbed, but found it rather strange to find 3 coat hangers when there was no wardrobe or hooks to hang them from!! At breakfast found the dining room furniture & decor badly in need of a refurb. Breakfast itself was adequate. On checking out informed receptionist & a colleague who was beside her, of the lack of hanging space in the bedroom. Response from ‘the colleague’ was not the type of response I expected to a guest!! This was a 1st visit to The Pentland but we will definitely not be visiting again.

Lovely Hotel”
We have had a Sunday Carvery here before Incredable amount and choice of food well worth a visit, We stayed bed and breakfast this visit, I was not dissapointed, the bed rooms were lovely , clean warm with everything we needed, The breakfast was 1st class with an amount of food and choice amazing, lovely friendly staff, I would recomend this hotel to anyone and would stay again

The stairs were a little tricky with suitcases, but lots of character. We enjoyed our stay. Lovely big bathroom
