Philipine/Dreamland hostel”
I booked a room in Philipine hostel with double bed. But they provide me a room in dreamland guest house two single beds. Also they mentioned there is a bathtub. But there is no bathtub bathroom. The bedsheets were not clean. There were a lot of hairs and stain in the bedsheet. Also the hotel energy saver key switch was not functioning. Power automatically shuts off and need to press it again several times to switch it on the key switch. The drinking water bottle was empty.

Didn’t clean enough the bed that’s why I got bed bug bites. They only change the towel and blanket but not the bed sheet. So disgusting!

Unpleasant experience ”
The room is not well maintained. Bedsheet was old. No body and hand soap were not provided in the room the placed us. It was difficult to turn on the cold water for bathing because the cold water tap handle/wheel was broken. I do not recommend for family.

Stayed here for the 2nd time. 1st one was June 2018 and the most recent one’s just last week (Dec 4-6, 2019). I chose this place because it is very very cheap! And the frontdesk is filipina so she can help you around :) The room. Its very small I tell you. If you are claustrophobic, then this is not for you. You barely have space to walk in inside your room. But if you arent and youre on a budget, this will really really do! Room has both AC and fan, a side table, a TV, slippers, vault, towels, hair dryer, mirror and ur own bathroom. Bathroom has shower gel and shampoo so you dont need to bring any. Just bring your toothbrush and tooth paste cause they dont provide any. Bathroom is also very very very small. But again, VERY cheap. So this should be good. I only paid 1,900 pesos for 3 nights 😅 Owner is a kinda old that’s why he seems annoyed all the time but well, he is nice too sometimes 😊 but again, with the help of the filipina receptionist, you’ll be fine. This hotel is located in tsim sha tsui. So from the airport, just ride the a21 bus (17 hkd) and get off at middle rd. I think its stop 15. Just remember middle road ok 😊 once you get off, look to your left and walk towards that direction (meaning you’ll go back. Do not follow the direction of the bus youre from. Go the opposite way) and then walk for like a minute or two and you’ll see chungking mansions on your right. Inside, you’ll see A LOT of money exchange. Have your money exchanged here because they have the best rates! Just pick any. They are all almost the same. Then wak towards the end of the building. You’ll see a lot of elevators but don’t go in it. You have to reach the end and use the last elevator u’ll see because Philippine hostel is in Block C. The ONLY elevator u can use it the very last one. Use the elevator on the RIGHT (it serves odd numbered floors) choose floor # 13, once u reach the hallway, go RIGHT and the last door is the hotel :) they ask for 100HKD deposit which will be returne

Great Value for money”
Place is clean, they change towels daily. hot water, blowdrier and airconditioned room with tv a fridge and a safe box waht else can u ask for. Elevator queue is not that long. wifi good, place is near the subway mtr station. If your from the airport just ride an airport express (you need an octopus card for this, available at mtr customer service inside the airport) to tsing yi, from tsing yi (yellow) ride an mtr to lai king (red) going to tsim sha tsui exit to Nathan road. Accross the road is the Chungking mansion building, inside chunking look for elevator C. For the price its worth it. rooms are spacious not that small not too big. Thanks Mr and Mrs Singh for making our Hongkong trip worthwhile.

IM IN LOVE WITH "PHILIPPINE HOSTEL"”
"PHILIPPINE HOSTEL" IS VERY RECOMENDED FOR YOU WHO SEEK FOR LOW PRICE BUT HAVE 5 STARS QUALITY (50/50 with sheraton)the pillow and blanket also very clean and nice. i love to live here for a long time, its very simple but feels like home. the AC is work very well, also the TV, and the important thing, the wifi is super fast hehe. the services in here is very very very very good, which makes us feel comfort with the owner also the staff. all of staff very kind and handsome. oh, and fyi, the bathroom is always clean,trust me, is very clean. IF I GO BACK TO HONGKONG, I DEFINITELY STAY IN "PHILIPPINE HOSTEL" AGAIN AND AGAIN! #VeryNice

HKG on a Budget”
Philippine Hostel is good for travelers who aren’t that fastidious. It is located in Chungking Mansion where there are Indians who will suddenly approach you to sell disneyland, ocean park, etc. If you are patient and are used to living in a small room then this is for you. Receptionist (who is a Filipino) and Mr. Singh are very courteous. Room is cleaned daily and towels are changed regularly. All in all, it was a great experience. Will book here again the next time I go to Hongkong.

just stay for one night , the location is good, but the room is very very small, of course if you just stay for one night with limited budget, it is ok. also we have been changed to another hostel since the staff said that the philippine hostel was full, if you mind of this, better u changed another hotel lah

Affordable & Nice Experience”
The staff in this hostel are very accommodating. When I booked it, I also send a confirmation letter to the owner for assurance and he immediately make a reply on it. Thanx Mr. Sunny. The attendant "Che" (not sure with the spelling of her name) is so nice also to speak with us maybe because we are "kababayans" Thanx for attending to our needs. Affordable in a sense it's cheap & the best about it is that it's near everywhere (MTR, Bus Station, Shopping Mall & Food Stall) Regarding cleanliness, the bathroom is clean, towels are changed everyday but with the bedsheets not sure, make some adjustments cause it's a bit smelly & there are some stains on the pillowcase. Overall still I will make a book on my next visit here.

Home away from home 😀”
It's actually our first trip abroad. Mr Singh & Mr Sukhi were very accomodating. The room is clean and the location is very convenient since it's near the MTR, bus stop, 7Eleven stores and some tourist spots; such as The Avenue of Stars and 1881 Heritage. The hostel provides microwave and sells beverages. Mr Sukhi also helped us with directions. Overall, THUMBS UP! 😀👍🏻

Location is very close to the MTR, rooms are clean and the Filipina Staff Ate Chie is very helpful with our concerns and the owner is nice too, he let us checked in early because we have our 2 year old daughter with us . Though the rooms are small it is clean and well maintained. The building ( Chungking Mansion ) has a lot of money changers on the ground floor, huge selection of Indian food, though there are many negative reviews on this building but I can only say that it is only in the front area where the problem really lies, but it wasnt as bad as people made it out to be. But overall our family had a nice and comfortable stay.
