Could not ask for anything better”
The location of this hotel is AMAZING. Near so many little shops, 10 minutes for the night market and 2 minutes from a daytime market. The staff is so welcoming and nice. Everything was super clean, the air conditioning was on point and the wifi was great. Only thing is, the windows, would not close properly.

Good money / value !”
The hosts are nice ! We can rent bicycle or give clothes to wash directly in the hotel. The only (little) thing was just the water that stays a bit in the bathroom and causes humidity after taking a shower. But it's super well located and really good for the price ! :)

The dirtiest hotel ever”
I’ve never been in a hotel as dirty as this one. At night, the rats kept me awake with its’ squeaky voices. During the day, the cockroachs crept under the sheet. When I asked the receptionist for a mop to clean water on the floor, he gave me a towel looked exactly like the one I was using in my room. No need to say the towel was filthy too

Perfect location, wonderful staff.”
I loved the Pho Hoi 1 hotel. For $15 I had a spacious sunny room with windows looking out over my balcony to a lovely old , quiet lane. The room was clean, spacious, simply furnished and comfortable. The staff were so kind and helpful. Each night they brought me a flask of hot water so that I could make tea [you need to request this though]. The hotel is in the perfect location, just steps from the ancient town. There's no breakfast at the hotel, but I went to the Hoi An Roastery Coffee House around the corner and down a bit, at 135 Tran Phu Street for perfect coffee and pastries in a very cool setting. The hotel is also very quiet at night, so there's no problem with sleeping. Ming and the rest of the staff booked my tours at very fair prices. I will absolutely stay here again - it's simple but a really nice base for exploring Hoi An ancient town and the tons of great cafes there, as well as the ancient temple complex of 'My Son', and it's only 10 minutes by motorbike taxi to the beach.

A very friendly hotel”
My stay at Pho Hoi was overall really nice. There were some issues, such as a fairly weak and unstable internet connection. Also, when I arrived, the staff insisted on my paying for the room, although I had already payed via Agoda. Anyway, that was straightened out later, as the staff itself realised its mistake and corrected it. Meanwhile, they were constantly very friendly and polite. I would definitely stay at Pho Hoi 1 again in the future if I ever come back to Hoi An.

great location, friendly staff”
Ilove the Pho Hoi 1 from the moment we turned in to the street. It is im the middle of the old town, a great location. The staff are friendly and helpful even taking time to walk us to the taxi on leaving. The room and bathroom was clean and large with a balcony. Bike hire is $1.50 sunup to sundown and is a great way to see further afield. Hoi An was the highlight of the trip and we would definitely use this hotel again.

Most affordable and clean accommodation”
Pho Hoi 1 Hotel is very affordable and very clean. The only problem we had was trying to get our luggage from the taxi to the hotel as the hotel is in an area of the town where cars are not allowed to drive. We had two suitcases and three backpacks so this was a bit of a problem, however the hotel staff were so helpful to assist us with our luggage to get to the closest intersection for getting a taxi.

small and ok hotel right on the heart of Hoi An”
A small hotel in the middle of everything in Hoi An old quarter. Next to the market, Hoi An musttry food shops, shoe shop are all in 1 to 5 min walk. The room is ok with the money you pay, and in better shape than others at the same rate. Will stay here again since I want to close to the walking street of Hoi AN and everything and just need a room to sleep and put my luggage.

hotel was not there”
THE HOTEL I BOOKED WAS NOT FINISHED! This is a review of the substitute hotel I was offered by the manager. The hotel I stayed at in the end, was the Phohoi resort on the other side of the river. When I arrived to Pho Hoi 1, the woman seemed not to know about my arrival, and had to wait for the manager to send a messenger and drive me to a sister hotel across the river. I was offered a comparable room at that place instead. Whereas the resort was nice, the shock of an unfinished hotel on arrival lingers with me.

Great place to spend your time in Hoi An”
Pho Hoi is not a big comfortable hotel, but it has its own charm. Its architecture looks like an ancient house from Hoi An, and it's so near to Hoi An's center. So close to the market, you could go out any time and enjoy "cao lau" "bun thit nuong". It's clean enough and the staff is nice. I'd recommend this hotel for anyone with tight budget and looking for a clean, nice place to spend time.

Good room in the Ancient City”
Located in the Ancient City it is close to many cultural, religious attractions and to the bridges that take you out of the ancient city. these bridges are very interesting in their construction and age. the hotel is close to the main market where you can but good cheap food and fruit. There is a local market also nearby but we got very hassled by dressmakers and shoe sellers that we avoided it where possible.the large market was a joy to wander around with no one hassling. There are local and european restaurants all through the city but we preferred the local food at the market. coffee is good anywhere and very reasonably price. The prices for most things are more expensive in Hoi Nnn than in Hue.

Good hotel, don't be deceived by the exterior”
The hotel did not look quite good from the outside (rather old and dilapidated), but the rooms were a surprise. The rooms were clean and the beds comfortable. However there was no lift so it could be inconvenient if your room is on one of the higher floors. The location is great if you prefer the old quarter of Hoi An to the beach. It's right at the "entrance" to the old quarter. The hotel is next to the central market, though, so noise could travel to your room throughout the day.

Excellent Location within the Ancient Town”
This hotel is in the perfect location. I was in Room 202, which didn't have the greatest view, but considering the incessant hum of this location, the room was surprisingly quiet. The only disturbance I had in two days was from a tourist who figured it was ok to sit in the hallway outside my room, smoking and carrying on a high decibel Skype call to one of her giggly friends back home. Back to the location, the hotel is just one minute walk from the riverfront and the public market. Inside the market you can get soups and noodle dishes from $1-2, along with coffee and fresh fruit smoothies. Must be 100 restaurants of all price ranges within 5 minutes walk along the river or along the parallel streets. Tip - these streets buzz with scooters for most of the day, but there are blocks of time (dinner, for one) when a few of these streets are closed to all but bicycles and pedestrians. It's during these times you can enjoy a quiet dinner or drink with great scenery and interesting people watching. OK, back to the hotel. I try to base my reviews upon reasonable expectations within the relevant price point. That said, the room was equipped with a small dressing table, fridge and air con. No frills beyond that. Not to be too picky, but there wasn't a closet or even a drawer in which to put my clothes. The bathroom was an all in one, so that when you shower, the entire room gets wet and stays damp. And a bit smelly. The hose for the bidet was missing, a disappointment. Water was hot just long enough for a shower. No room service between days, but I didn't ask to have the room cleaned. The room was clean enough though, and the bed super comfy, and it even came with a top sheet, a nice touch for this area. I had my BEST night sleep so far in Vietnam in this room. Staff were friendly and made a good attempt to be helpful, but their English was as bad as my Vietnamese, leading to a minor misunderstanding. All in all, I would definitely return here, especially at $17 per night.

Great location. Nice room ”
It was my perfect choice when i travel to Hoi An because its location is perfect. It takes you just 5 mins to walking to ancient town. The exterior of this hotel is old but inside room, everything is brand new. That make u feel comfortable. You should choose a room with balcony. It doesnt cost much than the other

Memorable experience”
We are a couple travelling for a short holiday in Hoian (2 nights). The delay flight caused us reach the hotel nearly at 2AM. There was only 1 staff and she wasn't willing to open the gate and light it up so we can find it easier (all the street light was turned off and the hotel is in an alley). Even worse, we was put in a wrong room (without balcony). However, we are overall satisfied with this hotel, below is the sum up: - The price is affordable, especially for that location (few steps to the local market, the river and the ancient streets) - The staffs were very friendly and honestly, they offered to move us to a honeymoon-room in the next day. - The cleanliness is acceptable for us, as well as the facilities. We don't expect to stay in a modern hotel inside the ancient area. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel, due to its location and the price.

Acceptable”
Hotel was maintaining when we came so not really impressed with paint smell. Room are big but the air-condition didn't work. So tired when arriving Hoi An, after checked in, we turned a/c on and went to sleep straight away. When we got up, all sweated and realized that outside cooler than our room. Then we offered to move to dorm room for a night :-(

This hotel needs to be renovated now!”
The hotel is next to Hoi An market. The location is great. You can walk to the ancient town and enjoy it in the early morning or in late evening. At first they gave us a room which 2/4 ceiling lamps were broken so we were transferred to a better room. The stairs and common area are clean but the room is not. WC is clean and the facilities look quite new. But there are some hair and dust on bed. The walls are mouldy. The male receptionist is nice and polite, he allowed us to check in when we arrived at 9.30 am. They also have a dorm which is full of sunlight and looks good! The owner should invest more into this hotel. They are wasting the hotel golden location by let it deteriorates

A good budget hotel”
The hotel is just within the old town, and taxis cannot directly get to it. It is well located near the main restaurant and shopping streets of Hoi An. Check in was prompt. There's always a member of staff on duty in reception so the hotel felt safe. Friendly staff (even though it did feel like people were trying to sell tours each time we spoke to them). Room was large and clean. Bathroom had a wet room shower, which could have benefitted from a bath mat. The windows were a bit thin so we could hear the street vendors quite loudly from rather early in the morning - if you're a light sleeper perhaps ask for a higher floor.
