Finally we found a hotel in the Ha Giang province where it was not freezing cold (we stayed there in December). It was very clean and nice. We also want to point out that the bed is not as hard as usual in northern Vietnam, which was great to us and our backs as we sleep on our sides. The staff was attentive, nice and helpful and breakfast was rich. And not least, the location directly at the river ensures great views!

Although the hotel is 4-star hotel, we were told Phoenix hotel is the best one in Ha Giang city. Due to some issue with the bathroom, we got a complimentary upgrade to a river view room. The view is serene and beautiful with the mountains as the backdrop. In terms of food, the buffet breakfast has a nice spread of traditional Vietnamese dishes and western options. Menu for dinner is limited and somewhat expensive by local standard.

We stayed here the night before and the night after our 3-day Ha Giang motorbike ride. Everything was splendid from the accommodating staff, to the views, to the magnificent breakfast buffet with made to order omelets, pho, and banh cuon.

This is a nice hotel in a good location. Staff were very helpful. This photos and information about the pool are miss leading the pool is very small, maintenance work next to it the whole time and no sun reaches the terrace.

A Disappointing Stay”
The hotel is fine, most things are at least 'ok', but its just that, nothing is 'exceptional' and you would expect 'exceptional' at this price. Also i choose this hotel for its gym, to do some weight training, but during my stay, nothing the only weight training machine was perpetually broken. The Staff was nice (probably the best part about the hotel, albeit not all staff), the beds were fine. And it was acceptably clean, albeit i found old pet bottles under the bed. The food was acceptable. The Doors were not sound proof, which meant i heard the sound of the elevator all night and the people that used said elevator in the morning. Also the rooms towards the road will certainly have the traffic wake you up at 6 am. All in all, its just your average stay and defenitely not worth the price.

My laundry included heavy, wet, mud covered motorcycling gear. They took it on and did a great job restoring to a presentable state. Staff was very helpful, accommodating and professional. Room was comfortable. Lovely river views available.

The room that assigned to me , omg it was bad, it has a very bad cigarettes smells . Door was so hard to open, have to use forces. Lot of loud local tourist. However, the Staff was good. helpful.
