Clean, helpful staff, central location”
We loved our stay at Phong Nha! The staff were amazing, the room was clean and had great AC, and we loved the location. Across the street has really cheap and amazing food!

Short but nice stay”
We checked in late but was greeted by a smiling staff who has apparently been waiting for us. We needed to check out early the next day since we had a whole day tour of Hue; the staff offered to keep our luggage and to allow us to shower before we leave for Hanoi. She also gave us a map and showed us where we can eat cheap but delicious Vietnamese food.

Good location and good menu for included breakfast”
Hotel is up a little side street behind Omar's Indian and looks quite small on arrival. Staff all very friendly, happy to help with everything. Room was clean, had good air-con, 2 double beds in a large room. The included breakfast was awesome as normally included breakfasts are set (rubbish) menu's, however here you could choose 1 food and drink item from their menu :) On this budget probably as close as you'll get to the citadel.

Clean and cheap”
We loved it here, had a nice backpacker vibe about it but no dorms. The staff were always friendly and helpful, rooms always clean. Not much in the way of facilities, but a hotel is just a bed and a toilet to me so as long as they are clean, I'm happy. Straight opposite is an amazing little cafe/restaurant, if you stay here, definitely eat there it's amazing and cheap.

Nice hotel in the city center”
We stayed there just for one night, but the hotel was nice, because it was in a central location. We were on the 4th floor (without elevator), but the view was nice, we had sun until late in the evening as we were so high ;-) Good internet connection and aircon. Clean rooms. Nothing more to ask of a low-budget hotel!

old hotel but excellent hospitality”
We had one night stay at here. The staffs spoke excellent English n willing to show us all the things around. After we checked out on the second day, my friend sprain her ankle. The hotel allowed her to stay at the lobby all day long n the staffs gave her very lovely accompaniment. They even provide free shower room for seven of us before we left for our late midnight train. Excellent hospitality!

Blatant Dishonesty ”
While the Phong Nha is a clean budget hotel in an interesting old building, they flagrant misrepresent the facilities on offer in order to persuade potential customers to pay for more expensive rooms. The facilities we paid for on Agoda, which are completely non-existent, include: 'satellite/cable TV' (the television sets are so ancient they barely pick up a signal, and the picture on most channels is unwatchable); there are no 'in-house movies'; no rooms contain any desks, nor kitchenettes; there are no hair dryers; and none of the rooms are 'non-smoking' (i.e. they all contain ashtrays). All this establishment needs to do to move from one to four stars is to be *honest* about what they offer.

the room was surprisingly nice, sure not perfect bit for that money really good! location is good! 10 min walk to the nightmarket at the waterside, about 15min to a shopping centre with a supermarket and about 20min to the main attraction. would stay here again! perfect for backpacker they sell a lot of tours as well! Its worth it to bargain!!! we didnt book anything though cause the lady was a bit pushy (they sure wanna sell as many tours as possible) and we just did everything ourselves.

simple hotel, friendly receptionist”
very simple hotel. not that clean, cheap water, you must sleep with earplugs because its noisy from the street. friendly receptionist who helped us book bus to hoi an and a motorbikeride to sigthseeing places. that was awsome, only for a half day and them you could make up your own tour and they could stop whenever you wanted. very good driver and you see the culture and environment much bettet from there. they went through small villages wich was really cool overall the hotel was fine for backpackers but we only stayed one night so it was fine, but wouldnt stay longer

Affordable and Friendly ”
Not for the toffs but for me, ideal. Tucked away in a small lane way, it has its own French colonial charm. With a comfortable queen size bed, it opens onto a small balcony where you can take in the sounds and aromas of the area. I’d book here again.

hotel is nearby the busstop. Unfortunatly also next to a building site with a lote of noise. Although they only start around 7.30, they end around 18.00.
