Good location friendly staff in noisy Bontoc”

Stayed here for 4 nights while waiting for friends from Manila. It was offpeak and my room got upgraded to the one with ensuite bathroom. Most of the rooms are huge and spacious but the room I got has an unappealing bathroom but the staff were kind enough to let me use the bathroom on the next room. Be warned that Bontoc can be noisy (roosters and dogs barking early morning, karaoke in the evening) but something I got used to. Wifi is working though a bit inconsistent. Food is definitely of good value at their kitchenette. Place may look old but its well-kept and clean.

Room rates are very low, so I really wasn't expecting a luxurious stay. However, I do expect shower facilities and working flush even in a shared bathroom. Water in the hotel is very poor. There is no flush in the toilet--you have to wait for SO LONG for the bucket to fill so you do not leave a mess in the toilet. There is no shower in the bathroom. There is only a giant drum that is only half full most of the time. My room is clean and cozy, but had very flimsy curtains that I worried about being seen by people in nearby buildings. The staff is commendable, though. They are accommodating and nice. And Pines really serve very good food, affordable priced. However, unless they improve their bathroom facilities, I don't think I'm staying in this place the next time I go to Bontoc n

Conveniently located but basic hotel”

Be aware that this is a budget hotel, which means one shared cold-water only wetroom and one male/one female toilet for all guests, you will need your own toilet paper, soap and towels, and there is one noisy electric fan per room. There is also noise outside from about 3.30 (public exercise class)-23.00 (adjacent karaoke bar) so not good if you are a light sleeper. Having said that, the hotel is very clean, the beds are comfortable, the staff are friendly and it is easy to find, a short walk from the centre of Bontoc where the buses stop. There are many cheap places to eat nearby, we recommend Aijay's on the main street 5 minutes walk away.

Firstly this is a 1 star accommodation so as long as you remember this I think it's not bad. Spacous room, bathroom was rough but none the less it did the job. Hard bed but again at least there was a bed off the floor. And pillows and blankets. Quit noisy but that's not their fault. We where just stopping there as a base to go and see the great Whang Od. Did the job for a buget traveller.

There's little choices in Bontoc”

I knew there wouldn't be much to expect for an accommodation at this price, yet I was still stunned for its extreme rundown. The aging of the premise was understandable but it's a bit overdone for its total lack of maintenance, for example, the bath room lock was completely missing, the basin was completely clogged and what for alternative was providing you a hose to conduct the water from the basin faucet to a barrel for use. The toilet flushing gear was left unrepaired(maybe no longer repairable) so that you had to scoop the water from the barrel to flush the urine and drop. The running water was not available for 1/3 of the chances, even when available, the water was merely a trickle coming from the shower head(actually the head was missing) pipe exit.

they only have one room with an attached shower, which I booked, but it was occupied when I arrived. The shared bathrooms are small and have no shower...use a big drum of water. Pretty good location and restaurant though.

Cozy room, no shower and no Wi-Fi =(”

It was pretty disappointing, because I didn't expected to see `bucket-powered` shower in the place, which is called hotel. Also, Wi-Fi was not working, because they didn't paid for it. Location is pretty good, if you can say so. Because there is nothing really in the city. Room was pretty nice, spacious and cozy. If they'd only had proper shower and internet...

Just a fine stay in Bontoc. Nothing really spectacular about accomodation and the place (Bontoc).

The pice, location and staff are really good! There is no water heater and shower heads in the bathroom.

Value for money”

You can not ask for more for 500-700 per night rooms, staff is very helpful and attentive, location is excellent ..

Good food served there. Clean rooms. No hot water though.

Go somewhere else if you can”

Not the claenest and most comfortable stay, even for going backpackers. Go somewhere else if it's possible. Don't rely on the owner for accurate information. She told us the wrong hours of the jeepney to malingcong, that was why we mist him and had to walk all up to the hill. Ask for the jeepney schedules at the touristinformationpoint.
