3rd stay at Pioneer”
This was our 3rd stay at Pioneer and nothing changed. I like the location of the hotel in Wadi Kabir (Ruwi) between the mountains and with a lot of Indians around. Mutrah is not far away and it's a good starting point for the beaches in Yiti, Sifah Ash Sheikh and As Sifah, our favorite. There are some asian restaurants nearby, especially "Little Jakarta". Don't forget Marahland and Ryam Park if you come with kids. The rooms are big with kitchen and clean. Rooftop pool. All the staff including the hotel manager friendly, tries to fullfill your wishes. Due to the starting tourism after the pandemic the hotel was not busy. Hope to come back in the future.

Value for money and high standards”
If you are looking for a nice place to stay without going broke in Oman, look no further than the Pioneer Apartment hotel. We booked a Deluxe one bedroom apartment and were surprised about the quality of the furnishings and the size of the unit guaranteeing a comfortable stay usually offered by high-end hotels. Staff is overly friendly. Breakfast is offered in the restaurant in the basement and goes beyond the usual continental fare. Don't forget to checkout the rooftop pool. As the hotel is at the southern end of Muscat, it is advisable to ensure detailed driving directions to the hotel. Check out the hotel's website to get a planning start.

The Grand (Pioneer) Hotel”
If you've ever seen the movie, The Grand Budapest Hotel, you'll surely see striking resemblances to this modern day masterpiece. Upon arrival, we were swiftly greeted the moment we entered through the door. Three highly attentive staff agents approached. One greeting me personally by name, one serving orange juice upon a silver platter, and the third carrying our bags to the room. After viewing the room, one filled from wall to ceiling with ornate marble and decorative silk, our group realized a slight miscommunication. Our group had thought that there was a pull-out couch, there wasn't! The staff was quick to remedy the situation, providing an extra bed at no extra cost. In addition, they even lowered our next night's stay because of the miscommunication, without us even asking! The food was also delicious, we ate in the restaurant at least once every day during our 5 day excursion. Oddly this location seemed to have the best orange juice I've ever had in my entire life. Overall this was a wonderful hotel to stay in and I will absolutely be returning, assuming I return to Muscat.

Very good hotel and excelllent value. We had a suite with separate living room, two bathrooms and a kitchen. Two flat screen TVs. Breakfast is not included but there is a kitchen and a nice corner store just a few doors down. Very easy,, and more pleasant, to have breakfast in the room. The staff will provide a job and a microwave upon request. The staff is very very accommodating and helpful. I couldn't say enough about how great they are. A car is helpful but not necessary. Lots of cabs around and not rxpensive to get cabs. Although, cabs in Muscat do not presently have meters and cabbies will charge what they want. Need to be careful to know how much different trips will cost. Meters expected in mid 2017. Very good restaurant will bring room service to the pool on the roof.

Awesome staff, very helpful! The hotel is still establishing itself, but for the price we got we knew we weren't get 5* luxury and we were very satisfied with our rooms. The best thing about this hotel is the very friendly staff, who organized our taxis, gave us great advice for where to go and who to contact to save a bit of money where we can. Very happy with our stay in Muscat :)

Very good clean hotel. Service from staff was very good. Fairly closely located to old Muscat and Muttrah souk. However as Muscat is spread out, it's helpful to have car to access all the tourist sites.

The Pioneer was a veryleasant place to stay. Nice that they had hand towels and pool towels in addition to bath towels. The kitchen had the bare necessities in terms of dishes and cookware but did have microwave, hot water kettle, and instant coffee packets.

Good place but quite far from airport”
I was staying in this hotel for 1 night, dye to long transit time in muscat. Because I brought children so that I should choose a hotel for rest. This hotel gives a good service to us. Minus one is it is far from airport, need aproximately 45 minutes driving.

Great and comfortable stay”
Breakfast was good...the apartment was nice and big. The hotel is locally owned and the Omani family that runs it are very accommodating and hospitable. My wife needed some pain medicine and they sent some Panadol up to the room within five minutes. Little bit out of the way from the city which makes it a nice and quiet place.

Hotel apartment far from city center”
This hotel apartment was fine for the limited number of midrange hotels in Muscat. It is close to Al-Bustan Palace (Ritz), and the Shangri-La, and not too far to Old Muscat. The food was disappointing, and the breakfast isn't included in the room price. The rooftop pool was nice.

Short stay in Muscat”
Very warm welcome, staff couldn't help you enough. Very pleasant hotel for the money spent with good facilities. Only slight point would be that the beds indeed are hard - but that does depend on your preference. We could have asked for an additional topper but didn't so really our fault for not speaking up. All in all a wonderful staff with excellent staff at hand to assist.

The hotel is located in Alwadi alkabeer near Albustan Hotel and 5 minutes drive beache. I booked a family apartment which was clean and had a comfortable beds . Be aware that there are not many good restaurants near by. The staffs are very friendly and attentive especially the Indian reciptionist lady. Overall ,My family and I enjoyed our stay.

Great room, terrible location”
Overall, this is a fine hotel for those traveling on business or have their own car. For those without a vehicle though it was a bit problematic, as there are virtually no tourist sites near the hotel, which means taking exorbitantly priced taxis whenever you want to go anywhere. Additionally, no taxis know of the hotel, as it's new, meaning getting there is always an adventure. Rooms are massive and clean, with the lobby staff extremely friendly. I took one tour with the hotel, which I probably wouldn't recommend, as it was just as expensive as a professional tour with few of the benefits. The guide didn't really explain or show us much and he spent most of the time chatting with his friend and his girlfriend.

Great and helpfully staff. They opened us the pool after 6pm. Nice rooms, but the kitchen was not very clean and nothing in it. (not for 4 People Apartment) No coffemaker, no cups. Nice but very small Poolarea. Nice resterant for the evening but very poor breakfast. This was disappointing

Spacious but too noisy”
This hotel has plenty of space, but when I specifically asked for quiet room when booking I was rather annoyed to find myself on the 4th floor facing a busy road and with machinery on the floor above making strange gurgling noises all night.
