Very nice diving and location”
We enjoyed our stay at Planet Dive. The location is good with the Twin Rocks dive site right in front, and they have a nice decked area to eat and chill out. Food was OK. Not mind blowing but nice enough. It was geared more toward Filipino taste and served buffet style. There were 3 choices plus rice and soup. However we felt that the food was overpriced. Standard rate is 500 peso p/person, so 3 meals p/day is 1500. We felt that 350 peso would have been a fair price to match the level of food provided. The room was nice enough. Main downside was the bathroom had a urinal and the deodorizer was quite strong smelling, so the bathroom door needed to be closed at all times. Room had a nice terrace with great views. No TV. Primary reason for staying here is of course diving, which is great, but the way dives are charged is different from other parts of the Philippines. Instead of a set rate per dive, you must hire out the boat and guide. Therefore it's really best to go with a group to share the cost. If you're a lone diver you're looking at paying 5000 peso for 2 dives, which of course is very high. With a group of four the price per diver is reasonable. Also, transfers are quite expensive. To/from Batangas port to the resort, a distance of approx 30km, 45 min, the price is 2500 peso. By comparison an equivalent transfer we took in Bohol was 500 peso. Other than that, everything is good. Loved the diving. Recommend for diving addicts.

Great Getaway”
Whilst its hard to get to Mabini or Planet Dive from Metro Manila, the stay was wonderful. World class dive centre and waters. Staffs was helpful in calling for tricycles to go around the area. Adequate facilities. As nothing is close by, food served was excellent. Really peaceful place and relaxing.

Great place for skin diving ”
Had the place to ourselves for 2 days (Thursday and Friday). During our last 2 days though (Sat and Sun), the place was already packed with people. Nevertheless, we enjoyed our stay. The place is great for skin diving (which my boyfriend and I loved to do). The waters directly in front is the best spot for diving, I think, since all the other boats from other resorts go there for diving also. The only thing we didn't like was how expensive the food and rentals were. We ended up just eating out (10-min drive from the place, we found a local who would cook for us whatever we requested) for 3 days and we tried their set meals on our 4th and last day. Rentals of fins, snorkel and masks cost a lot for 2 people. I suggest they make it part of the room package. Anyway, good thing the room (including the bathroom) was clean and spacious. We also had the best view of the sea. All in all, we'd come back for another diving vacation.

Second Visit and not the Last”
This is my second stay at Planet Dive this time with my GF. I came back for its House Reef. Still an amazing place to dive in despite being partially destroyed by Typhoon Glenda. One thing I noticed this time is the improvement in regards to Diver Safety. I'm happy for that. Apart from that everything is same as it was in March 2013. A place where a diver wants to be.

Great diving getaway in beautiful location”
I had a great time at Planet Dive, all the staff is very friendly and helpful. The food is fine. They serve a varied buffet three times a day. It would have been nice to have some more drinks available, fresh fruit juices or even cocktails. Although I must say I haven't asked for it either, so I can blame myself for that too. There is a large group of expats/locals from Manila visiting and diving regularly in the weekends. They're very open and friendly to other people. Resort can be a bit quiet during the week. Rooms are a bit basic, they lack some decoration and furniture is in good shape but a little outdated. Quality is fine. They're opening up new rooms soon and have recently purchased new furniture for dining and oceanfront area so it is definitely improving. The resort is a bit remote, no other shops nearby, just a few other resorts. It took me four hours to get there from Tanauan during rush hour. Normally that should just take 1.5 hours. Diving instructors are very experienced and careful, diving is great if you like the little stuff, lots of nudibranches. Great snorkeling/diving right in front of the resort but boat trips are also offered.

Good”
Check in time is 2pm, we informed them ahead of time that we'll check in late. We arrived approx 11pm. Tip: price we got from Agoda (regular room) is approx 2500-2600 php food not included. If you book at Planet dive you can get it for 3500 with 4 (buffet)meals. We then just had to pay buffet breakfast meal valued at 500 (ea pax). Pro: Staff was so accomadating and let us check out late (4pm) since I finished diving late. Over all I recommend this place, value for money is good especially for divers. Regular room can accomodate up to 4 persons. They allow pets inside the resort (how cool is that) Cons: Resort needs upgrading.

Great staff, peaceful and beautiful”
Best 2 things are: 1 great stuff, 2. Dog friendly. I booked the date wrong, but the staff were able to handle my situation fast. Toilet in the room are clean, air-condition is great, only negative are the pillows, I suggest you bring your own if you are particular with it. Facilities are pretty simple, there is a long deck facing the sea with lounges, basically just it, I spent my entire day, snorkelling after the intro dive; sun bathing & reading on the deck. and my dog just chill, swims with me etc. there are a lot of stair way so if you are travelling with elderly if have to take note. but the rest are great.

Place is very secluded and extremely quiet. Would recommend using the shuttle from Manila. Food is buffet style was very good. Diving was organized and professional. Room was comfortable no hassles. No wifi at resort so make sure you have a sim card. Staff was awesome very helpful and nice.

The place doesn't resemble the name, but....”
The overall experience was okay. The Batangas area has gone from extremely affordable crap places and high end luxury places when seeking accommodations. Planet "Dive" is headed in the direction of its name. Mold on the curtains, bath towels as thin as paper towel and coarser then your mother-in-law's sense of humor. Food provided in the buffet was cold, tasteless and definitely geared toward drinkers who drink and don't care about food or what they eat (ever). We ventured off the property for all of our meals, after the initial attempt to try a lunch buffet, no ala carte. Definitely has pluses for divers who dive, drink and sleep, with no idea of where they land at the end of the day of diving or care. However, if you are a couple seeking a little R&R and peace, this is not the place. Divers hanging out and drinking after dives are loud and go for sometime. Overall the place is a hike up and down, up and down stairs since it is on the hillside. Trikes end after 7 PM we are advised so getting one to get the heck away from the resort takes some planning. Great resort down the beach with clean facilities and great kitchen, called Buceo Anilao. Also, a 20 plus minute trike ride gets you to the La Chevrerie (way overpriced) has good food and menu (plus atmosphere. But again, this is the extreme on the bipolar of the Planet Dive's deliverables. Good for locals who don't have the any expectations.

OVERRATED”
Our stay at Planet dive was a bit difficult. It was not advertised how hard it was to get there. You have to drive along a very steep dangerous road along the side of Mabini to get to the resort. Once there, the slope to resort is incredibly steep and run down (unless driving a 4x4 , don't risk it). Carry bags to the rooms is a huge workout as theres loads of steps. The view from the room was the only decent thing about the stay. Anyone planning to stay there has to BE WARNED that the food is terrible. It is a buffet of very cheap cold pot meals. they charge 500 a head per meal, which is a RIP OFF. on checking out we were actually charged extra for meals we didn't even eat ( which we had to dispute ). We did plan to stay 2 nights but after one night we couldn't wait to leave. We found a much better, functioning resort close by called Seas spring resort. Although Planet dive is obviously a diving resort, I would advise anyone to go to another resort which has a normal menu, easy to access and you will still be able to go to the same dive spots on a boat which wouldn't cost alot.

Good”
Location is a bit remote and difficult to get. We got a private driver from Airport (SGD 150) to bring us there. There is not much to do, and facilities around. It rained a bit when we were there. Staff is very friendly and accommodating, and you can just text the reception as room service. The reception is all the way down at the front (operating hours 8am-6.30pm) ⁃ The dining area was just mid way, above the reception (operating hours breakfast 7am, lunch 12pm-2.30pm, dinner 7pm) Food ⁃ food is nice and decent. You can choose between PHP 500 for buffet or PHP 200 for set meal (2meat, rice and soup) to which they give a gracious portion nothing much to do here except three things ⁃ Island hopping PHP 3000, 4hrs, 1-8pax, 2 dive/ snorkel location ⁃ Snorkeling ⁃ Diving ⁃ Fortunately when we went island hopping it didn't rain,

Unless diving, don't bother ”
The whole Island is a bit of a dive. Half an hour drive gets you to a 7/11 and not much else. I don't believe that I've ever been to a hotel that doesn't have a menu, and only serves a small amount of dishes. Unless you're there to dive, there really isn't much else for you. Wifi did basically nothing, no TV and no bar besides one type of local beer. It's quite dull, and no where nearby to escape to when you're bored. That's not their fault though, that part of batangas is more of an industrial area than a holiday spot. Beach is large stones and the stairs going up and down are unpleasant. Rooms was dull, but reasonably clean though.

great for snorkeling”
The location is convenient from Manila, about a 2 1/2 drive. As is typical for Anilao/Mabini properties, food is served as a buffet, in generous portions but nothing special. The rooms have nice views but are generally pretty spartan. I was not thrilled with the bathroom, mainly because it stank like an outdoor toilet. The upside is that the house reef is just a walk into the water and the sea is brimming with various fish and sea life. Worth a stay but keep your expectations in check.

Great Staff, very, very basic resort ”
The word resort should not be used, other than diving, there is nothing there. No tv in the room, no recreational activities other than diving, no restaurant accept at meal times, tea and coffee were always available, but other drinks were in a locked fridge. Nice place to relax for a day or two, read a book, but just nothing else there at all. Room was very, very basic. Literally a bed, a table and a bathroom. With good hot water. Not even a chair. The price was cheap, but should be much cheaper. Admittedly, I was there on off season and was literally the only guest. The staff were sort of in holiday mode, but were very friendly. I got asked each day what I wanted to eat. The chef would come each day to cook and serve my meal and they did leave things open for me, they were very accommodating. This is purely a place for diving, nothing else. I will go back there again for the diving, but it is also a little bit out of the way and if you don't have a car getting there will take you a while

Too Expensive”
the food and diving were too expensive for the location. you are forced to eat the resort food, as there are no other options in this secluded location. be aware that this resort is located on a fairly steep hillside, so there is lots of stairs clibing required to get from your to anywhere in the location. my brand new wetsuit was damaged on their property overnight, and the hotel offered no sollution...disappointing. Will, instead, look at other dive resorts in the area if I plan to return to Anilao for diving...

Good staff, expensive Car rental”
Quiet place, the best place for practicing diving here, as it has a famous dive spot, twin rocks within the reach. I will surely come more often if the car rental can be lower.
