I am glad that after 7 years of visiting Dumaguete, I tried Plaza Maria based on Agoda's rate. Plaza Maria allowed me to check-in as soon as arrived at around 8AM. So, I took a nap and woke 9:30AM refresh from my early morning flight to attend a rigorous business day of standing for about 3-4 hrs. straight. I will definitely stays in PM whenever I'm in Dumaguete for a day trip! P.S. Wi-Fi is very strong!

Low price, no frills, friendly staff”
The rates were so low, so I knew that i shouldn't expect much. The room was spartan but clean and comfortable, suitable for just sleeping in. But the hotel is in a great location, close to some of the best restaurants in Dumaguete City and to the famous boulevard. The staff are also quite friendly and helpful.

Good hotel to stay for a night.”
The Plaza Maria Hotel is a very nice hotel for travelers. The rooms were adequate & comfortable. The shower had plenty of hot water with fresh towels. Short trike ride to the shopping center was a big plus. Across the street from a nice park & a short walk to the boardwalk along the sea was convenient. I enjoyed my stay there & would recommend the hotel to all.

The staff was nice. They picked us up at the port for free. It's also right in front of the plaza and a stone's throw away from the Belfry Tower, San Rival Bistro, Silliman University and the Boulevard. You won't have problems getting a ride because there are tricycles waiting outside the hotel. The rooms were newly renovated. However, the toilet was a little bit smelly. It might help to put an exhaust fan in there to regulate the smell.

Basic place, centrally located, good staff”
Stay was great, this is a basic hotel, economical but centrally located in the city. Very close to good restaurants and bars, easy walking distance. The staff was great, helped with good information on travel to outer islands. Very accommodating group of people here.

We stayed for 1 night in this hotel in a suite room w/ a non-working fridge. Staff are friendly, d hotel is situated just across d plaza where jeepney going to d port is just waiting in a corner. Overall, I rate this hotel as satisfactory.

The hotel is a little bit dated but we found it to be clean and the staff polite and friendly, wifi was good and the TV acceptable - this was our second stay and will book again

It started out fine, the room was just older and in need of maintenance. after my first night, I was pleased , but noticed I was sneezing and had a tickle in my throat. After the second night I got worse with the sneezing and discovered it was from the mold. It would be a nice budget hotel if that issue was taken care of. The desk help were top notch.

Very pleasant people there. I say some foreigners treat them poorly and they just smiled and dealt with the situation. Just treat people with kindness and your trip will be more enjoyable. Returning next year and plan to stay here again

Nice place to stay if you are travelling solo”
Not a bad place actually. Not much facilities but a good location. Near a McDonalds and only 50m approx to the Baywalk and the major attractions and restaurants. Parking is REALLY limited if you have a car or motorcycle but atleast it is secured. Easy to also get a tricycle in the area. Just keep the windows closed as the heat from the outside is REALLY stifling.

Good location, not very clean , terrible shower mixture of friendly and unfriendly staff ...I don't like this city , I been traveling for a month around Philippine and this was the most unfriendly people and worse place so far I been in philippines, will never come back again here

Vacation disaster”
I made my booking online for a Matrimonial however I was given a twin configuration and was reasoned out that the hotel didn't have any control over Agoda Booking which then becomes an issue of false advertisent. This is solely the fault of the Receptionist who can't handle good customer service. Instead of finding a solution she preferred to argue hence made me demand to speak to the Hotel Manager who was called over the phone conversation. Finally, another concern staff took over and made the decision to give me an alternative room with the configuration of my choice and has the space twice as big as the one previously provided. No apology of any sort received from the Receptionist who remained talking over the phone whilst another staff took over and resolved the issue.

All the fixtures to your things are not good”
The value of my money is worth it. The fixtures to hang your things and clothes are poorly done. When I turn on my exhaust i can get the smell of food.
