"Located in a prime spot right in the centre of Port Ellen, this is clearly a well-run establishment that has been recently renovated. Rooms are smallish (as usual in Scotland) but comfortable and well thought out, with nice little extras like delicious oatmeal cookies to go with your tea, and pleasant toiletries. Staff were very professional and friendly. But the real highlight is the restaurant, with its excellent food (by no means a given in this part of the world!), and the lively bar with its superb selection of single malts. No need to venture out into town when the best eating and drinking is right where you're staying! :)"
