the place is child friendly. the food is excellent. we were just awaken at 4am due to noisy neighbor whom the staff told us coming from the other building, cooking and preparing for their island tour.

They gave us a wonderful memorable vacation. They were super accomodating.”
The food is great and delicious, but not all in the menu is available. The attic room good for 15 persons was very pleasant, just don't make too much noise or the occupants downstairs might complain because the flooring is wooden. Parking is also far from the buildings, you have to cross a beautiful bridge before you can get there.

Stayed 1 night”
We stayed at the Japanese inspired room. It was spacious and fine aside from that it is a bit old and will somehow give you a creepy feeling. The room is difficult to lock, the heater is not working and the room itself smells like an antique closet. It is near to the beach so you can easily say that they lack maintainance. They should maintain even their beachfront.

Disappointing”
We liked the food here. There is nothing else that I can add on the positive side. This is a slightly old hotel, I would guess. It shouldn't be (or feel) grubby, though. The beach was dirty, too, wih plenty of cigarette butts. Don't get Japanese room no 1 (your key will show JAP1). Nightmare: 1. The aircon is way too loud. We couldn't sleep. 2. The television didn't work We asked for a different room. We were given Japanese room number 2: 1. The television was working but there was no remote control 2. The air conditioner was a bit quieter but gave off some moisture. Very difficult to sleep. 3. A foam mattress together with foam pillows is a nightmare combination! 4. The restaurant serves only about 50% of the food items shown in the menu. The bar about 20% 5. This is probably the worst hotel I have ever stayed at in The Philippines 6. I paid for 3 nights (in advance) but we only stayed for 2 nights. That should tell you something!

Do not book the Japanese style room”
We book our room on a last minute and we do not have many choices of rooms. So we are assigned in Japanese style room. Naming it japanese style is an insult really! I dreaded taking shower the next day because the bathroom have no heater & the sewer pipe of the upper floor is expose in the ceiling of the bathroom! The other room have clog toilet bowl so when you flush, it flooded the bathroom! Really horrible experience! The room is so bright as the curtain is too thin. The ceiling light have aluminum foil to reflect the light & make it brighter.

The moment we entered the building, it smelled like bleached, the room smelled like mold.”
The bathroom, the water tasted like drainage water, shower room were flooding. I wouldn’t recommend this property. It needs renovation, and the water system require better filtration. The compound was nice, it has a nice garden, however it smelled like animals/birds poops. 6,000 pesos was a waste.

A rustic hotel with its own charm”
Stayed for 3D2N Pros: - good food - quiet & clean beach front with few (1-2) or no boats - friendly staff (they'll also help you when you want to get a boat going to Potipot Island) - rustic feel - 5-10mins away from Potipot Island Cons: - weak wifi internet inside the room (signal is strongest at the resto or outside the room) - room is a bit outdated, gloomy & smells dusty Management also allowed us to extend 2 hours on our last day (without additional fees) which was great.

This is your gateway to Potipot Island with its own amenities to enjoy ”
pros: 1. Situated along the highway so it’s easy for those who will take the bus from Manila. Walk a bit to enter the resort or take a tricycle for 30 pesos only. 2. It has its own parking space 3. Beach front with own swimming pool for kids and adults to enjoy 4. It’s also home to different birds that are welcoming and friendly 5. Rooms are clean with big smart tv 6. Own restaurant that serve hot meals 7. Entertainment amenities pool table, piano, guitar, game boards, playground for kids 8. Boat services to potipot island available at the beach front 9. Showers all over the resort 10. Beautiful garden and landscaping 11. Friendly and accommodating staff 12 quiet place during weekdays or off peak Cons: 1. No WiFi but I prefer it that way 2. Foods are good for 4 people minimum otherwise you order ala cart which is a bum for solo traveler or twos 3. No free toiletries so bring your own Enjoy your stay!

Gear place, great facilities and attractions”
The place is located in a great spot in front of Potipot island and the boat there and back definitely recommended for a day on the island beach. The restaurant is good as well and the atmosphere in the resort really nice.

Pwede na. But we have no plans of returning. ”
El Nido or Discovery Shores in Boracay are bright shining diamonds while Potipot Gateway is a hunk of carbon. The best things I can say about the place are 1. The rooms are big - we stayed in the ground floor of the Riverside Villa. 2. The staff seemed eager to help. 3. Some of the food - the inihaw - is very good. Unfortunately, it gets to your table really, really slowly. It's a pwede na place if you don't mind the not very inviting brown sand beach that's littered with packs of Zesto, Chippy, and a disposable diaper. Potipot island - a 10 minute boat ride away has a cleaner, more inviting beach but the facilities are a bit too crude for my taste. There's nothing to do which is a great thing if you like doing absolutely nothing. Older guests or people with mobility problems will find it problematic negotiating the foot bridge that connects the resort to the parking area. I wouldn't go back. My wife, daughter, and I all agree that our stay at Potipot was our least favorite vacation.

just after typhoon mangkhut”
my partner and i checked in last september 17, 2018. Almost a day after typhoon mangkhut hit the philippines and made damages even in zambales. the staff were all friendly and very accomodating. the menu is pricey but worth it. the hammocks were not available at the moment since the typhoon destroyed some of their facilities but you will not notice it for they offer a lot of other services. we stayed there with few other guests, thus we found serenity on our first two days until other guests arrived before we left. the downsides are one, the beach is not inviting for swimming. the sand is black and the beach has floating trash. though it is understandable since those trash might be swept there by the typhoon. two, the room we used smelt like dust and air freshner or baygon orange scent (either of the tw, im not sure). 3rd, we felt that the blanket and comforter were a bit damped. last, i was attacked by a roach while i was drinking my beer inside the room on our last night of stay.

Pleasantly Surprised”
I was pleasantly surprised at the number of amenities available for a resort / hotel so far from the city. Potipot Island is of course the attraction but it is nice to know that there is a place to come home to after a night of roughing it.
