Visited bath for Chrismas”

Very good location and selection of restaurants and sights within walking distance. The hotel has its own bar and restaurant but needs reservation. Room was very spacious and clean, we got a free upgrade so it was even better.

Great location, very helpful and friendly staff. Room was a bit small, but as advertised. Wanted to check in upon arrival at noon, but 3:00 check in was needed to allow cleaning staff to do their thing.

Beautiful hotel in great location”

I couldn't fault this hotel. Service was excellent. Room, very confortable and elegant. All the facilities you could need and excellent location in the heart of Bath. Staff very friendly and helpful- 5 stars all round.

Great older hotel in a wonderful location”

The hotel is older with a great deal of charm. The staff is helpful & the bar area is very comfortable. Best part is the location. Walk all over town very easily. The only downfall is the parking is in a public lot.

Excellent location”

This hotel is within convenient walking distance of the attractions in central bath. It is comfortable and there was nothing that stood out as unsatisfactory or (apart from the location) outstanding. It would be better if breakfast continued after 10am, as everyone came down at about the same time, shortly before 10, so service was slow and the restaurant overflowed into the sitting room and bar.

Fantastic locations”

We stayed at The Abbey Hotel for a night. Room was decent size and comfortable. We paid a discounted rate (through Agoda) and perhaps because of this we were given a room above the bar/nightclub downstairs in the 'basement' level. The bar was rowdy till beyond 11pm. But for the price we paid and for one night we had no other complaints.

Nice stay”

We stayed two nights in the Abby Hotel. Overall, we weren't incredibly thrilled with Bath to begin with and we did think the hotel was a bit pricy. It's cheaper than most hotels in the area but the room was quite small (two people plus luggage) but for a solo traveler it would be fine. Overall it was fine. The staff were friendly and they kept our luggage for us upon checkout. Breakfast wasn't included in the room and we opted not to spend the 10 pounds per person and went to a little sandwich shop nearby.

OK Standard Hotel”

Hotel was what you'd expect - clean and tidy. Good location close to the main attractions. Disappointed with the bed - our "king" bed, was two singles pushed together. Not great for a couple..... Room was a bit stuffy and there was no a/c or fan.

Great Choice ”

Lovely hotel, staff really helpful, room very cosy and clean. The bar has a nice atmosphere and a good selection of drinks. We didn't eat at the hotel as there was a nearby restaurant that we wanted to try and we didn't order breakfast as we wanted a lie in.The hotel is in a fab location. Sadly we could only stay one night but wished we had stayed longer. Will definitely stay again.

Underrated For A 3 Star”

The location is a BIG plus - a few minutes walk from the Railway & Bus Station, The Roman Bath, the shopping district. The service was five star and breakfast provided was very good. What we need was there in the room. The staff was friendly and helpful. The only downside is some noises like furniture being moved above our room like 6am in the morning (Room 117) Nevertheless we will definitely be back and recommend this hotel to friends and travelers.

Great customer service and comfortable room”

The hotel staff were very prompt and helpful when I wrote to them regarding room queries. They also helped ensure that the birthday surprise that I requested for was arranged in time before we checked into the room. The Roman Baths, Bath Abbey and spa are just nearby and makes for easy walking. Am not able to comment on food/dining as we did not eat at the hotel.

Good location Hotel in Bath”

I choose this hotel mainly because its the meeting point for one of the local tours which I've jointed. The location is also ideal and within walking distance of "The Bath Abbey" and "The Roman Baths". So location wise, this is a very ideal hotel. However, I can't say the same about the service provided. Trying to find a handyman to fix my tap is near impossible because most of the in-house staffs do not work 24 hours. So you have to learn to be patient. The price isn't really that attractive also..

Great Location”

My daughter and I spent the weekend in Bath for the Christmas Markets, we chose the hotel for the location, we were not disappointed we could walk everywhere. Our room was a twin, fairly small but modern and clean and a great view. The staff were great so friendly and helpful. We would happily use this hotel again, the hotel does not have car parking facilities but there is a car park about 5 minutes walk away.

Expensive and street noise kept us up awake. no air con so windows had to be open this ment that drunks wandering by could be heard and every morn delivery trucks parked out front n woke me up. bring ear plugs. bit expensive for puttong up eith that noisr

Good overall”

Good location for sightseeing, however I stayed in the superior room and it was really noisy (people on night out), and also we asked for more bottles of water and they charged us for it which I thought was ridiculous. The breakfast was also nice. Overall I would rate 3 star.

We have stayed in this hotel a number of times as it is a great location but very disappointed this time. Taking an elderly relative on a trip to Bath and booked two double rooms (and immediately paid for) over 8 weeks beforehand. On arrival, was advised rooms were not together on same floor as late rbookings took priority! Luckily 1st room was fine for relative as accessible by lift but ours was quite some distance away on much lower level near kitchen. Asked to change but told no others available. Very poky room and complained to the manager about the awful state of the stairwell carpets leading to the rooms. They made some attempt to clean them afterwards but still very unpleasant. Very limited sleep that night as could hear kitchen staff moving around outside and room became permeated with strong smell of breakfast cooking (bacon etc. - I'm vegetarian!). Our clothes reeked the next morning and we moved out of the room until breakfast served. Will not stay here again.

A nice hotel with some character which we used as a base from which we explored Bath. An easy walk from the train station and central to the city.
