1 night stay”

My stay was fine. There are a number of steps. Not suitable for anyone with mobility problems. No lift. Breakfast, excellent choice. Toast, cereal, juice, coffee/tea and full cooked fry. Good wifi also. The room was reasonable spacious. Tv, flat screen, although small, had a good selection of channels. The only 'fault' i could find was, on my arrival, the window was open (old windows), and room was freezing. At the time, the temperatures were below zero. The electric wall heater took a long time to bring the room to a reasonable temperature. There was aslo a kettle and coffee/tea making facilities. Bed was clean and comfortable. Shower good. Overall, no complaints, after having read some of the other negative reviews.

Nice place to stay, which is currently being decorated and improved. But staff managed well with the disruption, good place to stay for city centre

Very convenient position”

Booked for my son and his band mates as they had a last meeting meet up in Glasgow. They said it offered everything they needed for an overnight stop. Breakfast included which they welcomed. Room comfortable and clean. Most of all near to city centre.

Great value”

Room was comfortable and clean, breakfast was very good. Shared loos and showers but enough of them for this not to be an issue. The room had its own sink and tea/coffee making facilities. Broadband worked well. The rooms are on the upper floors and no lifts so not suitable if you’ve got mobility problems. For the money, a great place to stay.

Disappointed that not told that Bathrooms were separate”

The room was very small for three people and it was almost like sleeping in the attic. It is not mentioned in the room details. Agoda please correct that in the website. we had a lot of luggage that we had to carry first from the road through a long flight of steps to the reception and then two floors up. We got breakfast but the service staff there was impolite. Needs much improvement.

Overall ok experience. The staff was helpful with ordering taxi for an early morning transfer to Glasgow airport. The bathroom was super small, shower was functional, but basin tap run only cold water.

If you want local, this is local! I have been to this place before and I enjoy the atmosphere and the peace and quiet at night time considering it is in the middle of Glasgow. The staff are very helpful. And the place is homely. Plus it is only lesson five minutes to Sauchiehall Street to lots of eateries.

Crabbit, unhelpful wee wifee...GOOD VALUE...”

Said she didnt have any rooms avaiable , i went online whilst there to show her there was, so had to book via agoda, then she wouldnt look to check if booking went through. she did allow me to leave bag. when i returned 4 hrs later there wax a nice chap there who took me to my bag. the front zip had been opened he said it must have opened whilst he moved it!!!what 4 inches up 6 incjes ralong and anothe 4 inches down......I DONT THINK SO. nothing was missing but so glad i didnt leave any valuables in it. Breakfast was nice although the wee wifee again was crabbit with guests anx staff, shouting at them in the kitchen and abrubt with guests.....breakfast pkates where almost flung at you.....good value and because i do t habe to be friends qith this wifee i would stay again. BUT PLEASE learn manners...manners cost nothing.....no guests....no money...no wages....

Friendly staff, lovely cooked breakfast, clean, no noise from outside from my room. Just cold in the room, as it wasn't double glazed. But recommend for a weekend stay over. And 10 mins walk from the centre.

Great and lovely stay”

The stay is nice. The staff is friendly and giving any helps if needed. The location of the guest hotel not convenience if coming from airport. But if you looking for food and drinks, it is a perfect location by walking distance! Overall, the stay is great for me!

Nice place”

Nice place, clean and at good location. The breakfast was very good. It is not suitable for people with moving troubles - the stairs are steep and didn't see an elevator. You can hear people in other rooms and in the corridor.

Couple with baby”

We stayed in the hostel only for a few days, but it was a very pleasant few days. The staff was very kind and helpful, whenever we turned to them they tried to help us as much as they can. The facilities were excellent - nice room, nice shower, TV, comfortable beds, iron, hair dryer etc... We were very satisfied. The only thing is that we had to climb the hill to get there and also the stairs to get in the hostel. Although we saved the gym with it! :) Thank you! I recommend the place to everybody!

great location, quiet rooms”

stayed with a friend. staff was helpful, couldn't hear a thing, our room overlooked the garden, which was very peaceful. one street away were all the bars and restaurants, but you wouldn't notice from the guest house

I stayed at Charing cross house for about a week , and it was a great choice; location is in the heart of the city ,everything within reach,food,train stations,theatres,art gallery , etc, besides that the room was really a sweet and warm, i loved the breakfast . definitely i will book again and and again .. worth the money thumbs up

I'm a performer and this August , I was performing in Edinburgh fringe. Me and my gf decided to go to Glasgow for a couple of days after I finish with my show. I looked online and found this guest house which was the best and chippest one. I've read some reviews and it seemed everything is fine with this place. A lot of people said the breakfast is so good. I have to day they were right. I loved the traditional Scottish breakfast they served. There were other sort of breakfasts available for people who don't like full Scottish breakfast. The room was nice and clean and the heating was working perfectly. You will receive your services by a bunch of friendly staff. We left our stuff inside the dining room before check in and after check out. It was a big help for us as we could go around the city without any disturbing bags with us. If I go to Glasgow again, I will definitely go back to this gust house.

after readihg some bad reviews about this guest house. i was delighted with the reception at the start. ok the room showed its age but the comfort made up for that,and the bed was very clean and comfortable (too comfortable for me i lay too long in it )the breakfast was first class and plenty of it, the dining staff were friendly and quick. this house is ideally placed for all the city center attractions. i will definetally use again

I lived in standart room on the 2 floor. I have a boiler, 2 cups and some tea bags, cofee, milk, sugar in the room. If you need electric adapter like me just ask a staff. Breakfast was tasty and dense, it was enough almost the whole day. I didn't like a furniture, because it was old and shabby. Сleaning of the room and the bathroom with toilet was excellent not always. But the hotel is situated near the center and near the Sauchihall street. And there were no problem to go for a walk, sightseeing or shopping. Overall I had a good impression of the hotel.

Quick stay over Glasgow”

Only for a night, but the stay is pretty good; the room is like in the attic, common bathroom which I dont quite care, and there is a small washing basin.
