Great Hotel For NEC”

Stopped at the HI Express for a trade show at the NEC. Very good all round. Easy to get to, bar decent, food ok. Rooms good and clean.

BAD”

The booking was "screwed up", the room facilities were terrible, the toilet stank, The breakfast was the worst I'd ever had, the sausages burnt 50% the bacon was like planks of wood.. The staff however were very helpful. Would not under any circumstance stay here or recommend it to any friends

Excellent for overnight stay for show at NEC”

Very clean, comfortable room and bed. The quietest hotel room I have ever stayed in.. Very limited meal menu but the lasagne we chose was tasty and as we were only staying overnight, the lack of choice was not a problem

Value for money”

Stayed in the Hilton the following night which came no where near being as good as the Holiday Inn Express, We had an Executive Room at the Hilton, which seemed very dated compared to the Holiday Inn. Would definitely stay at the Holiday Inn again.

Does what it says on the tin”

Hotel is convenient for overnight. Clean and fairly comfortable however the room was a bit cold. The heating system was set to 22'C but the room did not reach that. Breakfast was excellent. Confused about the parking. It says you have to pay for overnight parking but when I checked out and asked about paying they said that it was all taken care of. Emailed them later to confirm and got no reply. Overall pretty good value if all you want is overnight and breakfast.

Avoid all the traffic by staying in a hotel on site. Not cheap but certainly convenient. Breakfast included

Very quiet, lovely staff, nice sized room with double and sofa bed; brilliant breakfast. Did not like being charged £7 for overnight parking.

Great location. I attended a concert at the Genting Arena, so the location was spot on. My only gripe was parking. I had to pay £7 to park in the hotel's own car park, when I'd already paid £83 for a room. This is a bit naughty, but the only bad point.

Holiday Inn Express, NEC”

I had a great two night stay at the hotel. It was easy to get to and from Birmingham town centre on Saturday. The Little Owl pub next door to the hotel was a great place to start the weekend.

For the purpose of visiting Birmingham for a trade expo, Holiday Inn NEC is the perfect choice! You get extreme value for your money with the free breakfast and free internet (the other hotels in the area didn't offer this). Although the internet in my room was crawling, the internet at the lobby and restaurant area was very fast and I ended up spending most of my evenings catching up on work there. The staff are magnificent as they attend to your every need with a smile (kudos especially to James at the bar who just the nicest, most attentive, and friendliest person). I highly recommend this hotel. The food at the Holiday Inn is not the best, but there is an excellent restaurant called The Little Owl just next door.
