Find hotels near Quan Lan Island in Hạ Long, Vietnam

Nice hotel close to the beach. However, internet are limited. And the water is not very pure, perhaps because there's a shortage of clean water on the island. Aircons work at certain limited time everyday as there has not been an official power line and system to the island. All electricity relating use are from generators. Hot water is also limited as the island people use solar heaters. The only worthy reason to visit Quan Lan island is its clean, white, sandy beach with beautiful landscape, and the 45 minute boat trip from inland to the island is really fascinating!

Robinson Ecolodge , you have the potential to be a really special spot. There is no website, no phone number so I just found a boat to QL island hoping I would find the hotel. About 1.5 hours after docking and nearly $20 Usd later I came to the edge of Vietnam. All doors were locked and it looked deserted. In the magic that was those few days, two Frenchmen, one fluent in Vietnamese, happened to be staying there and I didn't turn around and leave. The rooms are musty and dingy , I thought it was a total rip off but the french, who happen to live in Hanoi, said it was a good deal. There was no food or water. Using the translation app on of teenager's stationed there by the owner I had to beg to get a ride into town for some water. I spoke with the owner two or three times asking to switch places or be reimbursed , he said he would do both but never showed up or made any effort beyond the phone call. There is no tv, no internet. The ac in my room was broken. The place runs on a generator and we didn't have power for most of the second day. There is a kitchen to use and fortunately the French came prepared w goodies , otherwise it is a 5,10 tuk tuk into "town." This place is on a deserted beach, miles from anything. If you want to get far off the beaten path I highly recommend it here. Having someone speak Vietnamese is also very helpful as a few teenagers were doing the absolute bare minimum to keep this place going. To the owner, I hope you read this and invest just a little into the Ecolodge. Also, correct your Agoda page to more appropriately reflect the truth about the Ecolodge , tell people to bring their own food and water or supply it for them. I was offered instant ramen only. You had three days to prepare for a visitor as I booked on advance and it's pretty amateur to be unavailable at the location. I am so grateful for the adventure I had on your land Bc QL is a magical island and I was fortunate to meet two stellar people there.
