Great value for money”
We booked through Agoda and were more than happy with the Hotel Ramada Plaza in terms of value for money, location and space compared to previous stays in Noumea when we'd opted for a city centre hotel room and the confined space that that entails. At the Ramada we had a spacious I bedroom apartment with delightful views of the ocean and within an easy walk to the main Anse Vata strip or the local convenience store for baguettes, brie etc. Television reception was excellent with a pleasing choice of French and English channels I was especially happy with the wi fi access as I had been worried after reading earlier reviews on trip advisor. However, after a little finger trouble on my part (which was quickly sorted out by one of the helpful staff at reception) I found access quick and user friendly - enabling mini Ipad access to the market, news, emails, bank transactions etc. Thanks Ramada and Agoda - an enjoyable stay for us once again in this delightful and colourful part of the pacific...

Comfortable and spacious self contained apartment”
Very good place to stay with family. The staff was friendly and very helpful. Our two bedroom apartment had a nice size balcony with great view to the ocean, pool and the city. If you travel on a budget, cooking your own meals will help because the food is expensive AUD $40 for breakfast and AUD$70 for a meal. There is a supermarket walking distance, a pharmacy, the clothes shops and ATM from. Noumea is not a great deal...you must visit one of the islands like Ile des Pin if you are in New Caledonia and snorkel in Amadee.

Good hotel with good location”
We enjoyed staying in this hotel, thanks to the ample space of the 3-bedroom appartment and the kitchenette, which made it possible to make breakfast and have snacks when it suited us. We tried the hotel breakfast once and it was pretty poor (but probably ok based on French standard = a croissant and a cup of coffee) and very expensive. One room-service dinner was also a disappointment. But the central location makes it easy to dine out. Airport transfers and luggage storage was practical when touring the islands.

Spacious apartment not far from beach”
We had a 2 bedroom apartment which was a good size and a decent view of the sea. Rooms are a bit dated so not "luxury" but perfectly adequate and clean with a daily service. Staff were friendly and helpful, they were happy for example to book taxis, trips, airport transfers, and give advice on things to do. We had the continental breakfast in the hotel (approx $20-$25 per adult) which was decent and the children did eat free (aged 4&2) so it wasn't bad value and in a nice setting next to the pool so children could happily paddle about whilst we ate so all very easy. The pool was clean and good for children - not huge and only about 8 sun loungers but very pleasant. We also all enjoyed the revolving restaurant for dinner. The hotel is about 5 minutes walk to the beach, and there are plenty of restaurants and cafes along the sea front so it's easy to get out and about to explore. All in all a good value stay.

Ramada Noumea”
I called the hotel before arrival to arrange airport transfer - his was billed but no transfer eventuated & I organised my own transfer from the airport. Numerous minor issues occurred during our stay - used towels removed, but not replaced; attempted to bill us for breakfast, which we never took as it was so ridiculously expensive (CPF3000 each = AUD37.50 or AUD150 for the four of us per day). Tea, washing up liquid, soap, toilet roll not replaced, requiring visits to reception to ask for restock. Advertised Australian TV channels (not that I traveled to Noumea to watch TV....) didn't work and none of the staff seemed to think they ever had, despite being listed as a feature on the hotel website. When we did approach reception about problems, they did respond quickly. The hotel restaurant only offers two options on its menu. Despite this, we enjoyed our stay. The rooms are good, the view (if you are facing the sea) is great, and there are plenty of shops, activities, restaurants, bus stops etc nearby.

Perfect Stay. We really enjoyed this hotel.”
We were given a clean and modern top floor room which faced the ocean and had perfect views. The rooms got a little warm even with the 2 aircon units. The staff were also very friendly. There is a convenience store, restaurants, local bus stop and beach all just a short walk away. We didn't eat at the hotel but were advised to avoid it. The pool area is lovely and we spent a lot of time there.

A very mixed experience”
Location of the hotel is OK - about a 10 minute walk to the beach/shops. We were in a 1 BR suite and it was fine - a little dated and odd layout (no hand basin near the toilet) and you couldn't watch the TV from either lounge area - the room required a re-arrangement. However the view from the balcony was excellent and pool area good. Room facilities were dated as noted - several power points didn't work and the shower flooded the bathroom. Breakfast at the hotel was SUPER expensive, but that just reflects general food pricing in Noumea - everything is outrageous. Full buffet breakfast for 2 was in excess of $90AUD. Revolving restaurant has a great view but on the night we tried to dine there they had a menu of 3 items - small steak, large steak and a fish. That was it. We left without eating. However the truly disappointing aspect was staff attitude when you raise a concern. One day we returned to our room to find it had not been made up - at 3pm. So we called down and they said someone would be up within 30 mins. An hour later no-one, so we called again. 30 mins. Still no-one after 45 mins so called again - just over 2 hours after we first called and after 5pm, a housekeeper came in, made the bed, changed towels and left. Next day, we arrived back at 4pm and again, the room was unmade. We called reception, who said they would get someone up. Shortly afterwards the housekeeping manager appeared at our door to advise us that our room had indeed been made up that morning at 9.30am and that because we must have 'unmade it' they would not make it up again. What ensued afterwards was a Fawlty Towers episode with us being told that our room was in fact clean and made up when we were sitting in it clearly not so. We even invited the manager in to see the unmade bed, used towels, uncollected rubbish and unswept floors. But this made no difference - her sheet said that the room was clean and that was it. So after 2 hours and a personal trip to the front desk with a reque

Good business class hotel”
Reception staff very helpful. Only complaint - Breakfast is average and expensive for a Ramada hotel

Great location”
Very, very relaxing environment. Hotel cleanliness and service great. Two recommendations for the hotel would be a movie channel or DVD service and power adapters for international travellers. Overall - loved it, and would stay there again.

Excellent location, fantastic pool, very friendly staff. Needs a bit of TLC but room clean & tidy. ”
A bit run down but we noticed all the buildings were the same. Wifi pretty bad unless you were in the foyer. Food in the Sports bar limited & pricey but the pros definitely outweighed the cons. We would stay there again after comparing other hotels. We thoroughly enjoyed it!

Location was great.”
Staff organised breakfast boxes when they realised we had a very early plane to catch. Rooms were spacious and clean and in good condition. It was a short stroll to many restaurants and a lovely beach.

Island in the Sun”
I stayed in the shorter wing, a room with a balcony where it was usually shady, calm and pleasantly open to the passing breeze. The attitude of the staff was fine except at the Sports Bar where if you do not make yourself obvious there is a good chance to be ignored even on a relatively quiet afternoon. The beach is a five minute walk away that is easy to reach. Overall it is a good place to visit, though try to eat at Le 360 before the sun goes down so that you can really appreciate the view.

little bit of walk around the hotel to beach was little annoying as other hotels seemed to be located right in front of beach.

Apartment style accommodation in Anse Vata”
Dining out in New Caledonia is expensive so a full kitchen style apartment is a good cost saving option. The staff at this complex were the friendliest and most efficient in our travels around the island. Our apartment on the 15th floor had great views over the lagoon from the balcony and living areas. There is a nice cosy bar and tropical swimming pool in complex. In desperate need of an update, I believe this is underway. Minutes walk to shops, restaurants and beachfront. Overall a good option.
