This place is great while spending a couple of days in Brunei! Pros - clean rooms, warm showers (not that you need it), small kitchen area, filtered drinking water, free tea/coffee, excellent staff (always smiling, super friendly and helpful), location is walkable to night market, town center, lots of place to eat nearby. Cons - the green fake grass floor, it’s really dirty, pieces are falling off. It doesn’t seem like a good choice for a hotel...

Bell, the owner, is one of thefriendliest hosts I have ever met. We had a lovely stay. Bell helped us as much as possible by picking us up from the airport and giving us a ride to the center. To be honest, the location of the villa is not ideal but Bell, his staff and the villa itself make up for that one. Soon he is opening a guesthouse in Miri as well. We had a preview and we really loved it. Unfortunately for us it was not finished yet but hopefully you can try it out.

Getting there from the airport wasn't difficult as the taxi driver knew where the hotel was. We stayed here for two nights and I'm glad we stayed here among all the hotels in Brunei. We booked our stay late already but they were still able to receive our booking. The wifi's fast and the hotel owner makes you feel comfortable and at home. You can use the hotel's kitchen if you wanna make your own breakfast. What I like most of the hotel is that the surrounding's really quiet. It makes you feel relaxed and you will be able to sleep at night comfortably. Going to the downtown area isn't also a problem as there are water taxis that you can ride near the hotel. Just go towards the direction of the sea and you will find your way to the water taxi stops. It only cost 1 BRUNEI DOLLAR for a water taxi/boat ride for each. This is a must try experience. It was also so kind of the hotel owner and his wife to give us a ride to the downtown area after we checked out. They also introduced to us the famous Roti Kuning Kawin of Chop Jing Chew bakery/restaurant. It was the best tasting bun I've ever tasted in my whole life. seriously. The hotel owner was indeed so friendly and helpful and we managed to make the most of our stay in Brunei with his tips and advices. All in all, our experience in Brunei was great and staying at Apek Utama made if even better. Cheers!

I had an excellent stay at the Jubilee Hotel and would highly recommend staying there. Very good value for money in Brunei and location is perfect as only two minute walk from the city centre, shops, restaurants, coffee shops, banks, best rate money changers, main bus station and coach pick up site to go to Sabah and Sarawak. Some of the key tourist sites like Kampong Ayre, boat jetty to Tembourong, Royal Regalia Museum and the famous and most beautiful mosque are also only about 5 minutes walk away. The hotel is quiet and clean with good wifi and the staff very helpful and kind. There is a nice restaurant downstairs that offers food and drinks at a very good price. There is also a well equipped shop downstairs which is open till late. Plenty of space to park your car. Another good thing is that the hotel offers free airport transfers which few hotels in Bandar offer but it must not be a night time flight. You will definitely enjoy your stay at the Jubilee Hotel and I will stay there again the next time I am in Brunei.

I chose this guest house since its location close to the airport. We arrived at airport from Melbourne at mid nite and before I have asked the staff of this guest house through Agoda whether the hotel can pick up us at airport since this is my first time coming to Brunei. It should be no problem because I read the review that hotel can pick up with additional charge,. Unfortunately, the staff replied my message and he said it is not possible to pick up as even though I could pay the service. So when I arrived i took taxi and the driver charged me for USD 8 which is very expensive coz the distance is only 1km :(. So i disappointed with the staff who answered my message in Agoda. The good news that I got the pickup transfer to airport in the morning. So if you book this hotel make sure u contact the right person because actually the hotel offer pick up service, and please be careful when u get taxi coz the taxi in Brunei is expensive.

This is my first time to book an "Agoda home" and don't know what to expect since I will be staying with the homeowners in a separate room and I was surprised! I was about to back out since it is too far from the city "center" and since it is very difficult to find transportation in Brunei, going here proved to be a challenge. However, the host is super duper helpful and would constantly send follow-ups to provide assistance. I would never forget how helpful they have been that they agreed to drive for me and also changed my money (since all money changers are still closed early morning). So all in all, my stay became more pleasant because of them. Can't thank them enough for opening their home for me (in a very cheap price) and I love how their place has "personality" that I forgot to ask if they are into the "arts" because I love how they decorated the place. Their baby girl is such a darling ^_^ Sending love and gratitude from the Philippines! ^_^

This hotel is very good for first timers in Brunei and also good for a low cost room and very clean. Excellent and very friendly staff and also very cheap public transportation. Only 20-30 min. drive to the airport. Restaurant is very spacious, excellent and cheap food, and excellent staff too. Its also close to the Jerudong Park so if your with a family this is a good hotel for you and also cheap. I give this hotel a 3 star and RECOMMENDED!!!

The place is very much strategically located as shopping malls, night market, restaurants, convenience stores, and the bus stop are just within a walking distance. The bed is also big and is very comfortable. I felt safe staying in my room as Brunei Darussalam itself is one of the safest countries in the world. My only suggestion is that you’re staff should learn how to speak in English better. There are a lot of resources in the Internet for better communication. If I come back to Brunei, I will definitely stay here again!

Decent hotel that was close to the airport and at an affordable price. Very convenient for those transiting in Brunei and need somewhere to rest for a few hours or a night before flying out again. Came with the amenities of aircon, wifi and hot shower though I found it strange that toothbrush and toothpaste are not provided in the toilet and need to be requested at reception (whereas soap, shampoo and towels are automatically provided. why exclude the dental stuff then?). Overall, an ok hotel which I will definitely use again when transiting through Brunei.

Even though the place is far from the city, we're able to go around known places in Bandar Seri Begawan through a rented car at reasonable price. The staff are very accommodating especially Ms. Gina who assisted us in all our needs. Airport transfer is free which is very important since taxi fare is very expensive. We enjoyed a lot our stay in Brunei and in Venice Lodge.

We travel to Brunei every 2 months, this is our first time stay in this hotel because recommended by ours friend. They provide basement carpark, is safe and good for customers. I love this hotel because surrounded by restaurants, café, supermarket, shopping and etc within walking distance. That is a small shopping mall connected with hotel lobby, can find restaurants, bakery, boutique outlet, electronic shop,... without walking out from the hotel! Breakfast was provided, fresh and nice foods and good environment. Our room is big, a small coffee making area, and living room ( two of single sofa and one coffee table), big window, big washroom, only the decoration a bit old.

Ended up at the Palm for a one night stop-over in Brunei, and I wish it was longer. The staff was very helpful and attentive, and our Standard Twin was more than I expected for the low price. Very clean, very comfortable. This hotel offers amenities like a pool, gym, and excellent restaurant that you would not expect for the price. I would absolutely stay here again and recommend it to anyone.

It was surprisingly pleasant. With such a competitive rate, I was expecting a run-down building with poor service. But the building was quite new and well-maintained, the parking space ample, the rooms spacious with good beds and the staff was courteous, friendly and helpful. Located just off the Muara-Stutong Highway and close to the Jerudong Park Medical Centre, the location was perfect for me as I could make frequent visits to JPMC to visit a sick friend. Bandar Seri Begawan was also a short drive away. One improvement required: the hotel should insist that guests do not smoke in the rooms.

My stay at this hotel was nothing but perfect! The main reason I booked this hotel is for the complimentary airport transfer because I had a 12 hour transit in Brunei. Upon arriving at the airport, the driver will be waiting at the arrival hall with your name on a card (Please email the hotel in advance regarding your flight details in order for them to make the necessary arrangements upon booking through Agoda). The room was clean and spacious. It had all the adequate amenities for guests. The hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating. Oh, and the wifi was perfect too. Finally, I would like to thank Darren Tan for promptly replying my emails regarding my queries. Definitely recommended for anyone staying or having a transit in Brunei.

Room is clean and receptionist lady is very friendly. The airport pick up service is perfect, when I arrive in Brunei, my flight is delayed more than one hour, the driver is still waiting. However, the shuttle bus service is not good enough, nearly equals none. 1) The frequency of shuttle bus to landmark is rarely. 2$ On 2nd day of my stay, I ask for shuttle bus service to come back hotel ( 3-4 hours in advance), receptionist confirm to pick me up on 9:00. At 9:30 clock, I did not see hotel shuttle bus driver so ask again. Another receptionist refused my request say nobody received my call and nobody confirm my request once. At that moment it is late in evening. If I still need hotel shuttle bus service, there are fee-paying for those service. I answer..... ok how many is it, the man ( receptionist) quoted 3 price in one sentence of his words, BND 5- BND 20-BND 30, finally he say I need to pay 30 dollar. it is so strange 3 different prices so I refused him. Then, I take a taxi by using “ DART” come back hotel, costs BND 14.9.

Decent bedroom with a living room equiped with a small kitchen area(no complaint about it).Wifi is usually slow and terrible in Brunei, so for me it is normal. Rather used local sim for business internet connection although the data is a bit pricy.Tv channel is limited, so recommended to download movies/series in a pendrive/HD to plug it on the tv usb port for in house entertainment. Busy area during the day due to tyre shop, workshop noises nearby which does not bother me so much, but restfull at night (just few noise of cars passing by) and the location are mostly nearby food area, daily needs, business area and easy access to other strategic places. the place is not as fancy as you expect like other develop countries such as singapore, malaysia, etc but i would recommend riverside residence as one of a decent place to stay. I am satisfy with what they had in house, not so much complain about it and pleased to have stayed there.

This is the best place to stay if you're coming to Brunei. The staff are really friendly and very knowledgeable of Brunei and the surroundings of the apartment building. It is also very close (10 minutes) walk to the city centre and the walk takes you across a little water village with a nice boardwalk to the main mosque in the centre of Bandar Seri Begawan. The apartment complex is very clean and the rooms are very comfortable. There is a supermarket and other shops in the same building open until 9:30pm and there are a lot of restaurants and a shopping centre right outside the building. The staff even took us to the airport for free when we were leaving Brunei. If I come back to Brunei I'll stay here again as my no.1 choice.

Good location which is just few minutes drive to Brunei Airport and they provide free shuttle to airport (super convenient for me as I was just transitting at Brunei). Friendly staffs and the room is clean and nice. However, it would be better if they offer a pick up from Terminal Serasa, I know it is quite far from the town but perhaps they may make it chargeable. At least another option for the traveller. Overall is a five stars from me. Keep it up!

Birthday surprise Well I decided to have a short getaway at my birthday, and I reserved for 1 night's stay here. This hotel has high ratings on most online agencies. First they have a FREE shuttle bus 2-hourly going through many places and tourist attractions in Brunei, and FREE airport transfer is also available upon request. Though Seri Begawan is small, it's still very torturing walking on the streets, I feel like I am steamed. Second their location is also quite convenient. Royal Regalia Building and post office is with 10 mins walk, Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddin Mosque is about 15 mins walk. Third free breakfast is provided from 6.30 am to 11.30 am. The second day's morning when I am at the front desk the hotel staff presented a birthday cake for me and they sang the birthday song for me. At that moment I was like, astonished because I never expected a birthday gift from the hotel and I didn't tell them it's my birthday. They truly gave me a big surprise. Overall, Brunei people are very kind, nice, friendly, many of them can communicate in English and are willing to help you. I will definitely suggest you to spend 2 - 3 days in Brunei and stay with the Capital Residence Suites.

The living room was spacious and beautiful! It was the two balconies and the comfy-looking couch that really got me. My family was absolutely in love with the apartment. But seriously, the best thing about it is how cheap it is per night!!!! Instead of wasting my money on hotel rooms for 4 person, I could just get a whole apartment for better price, bigger space and larger group of people. All in all, we were quite sad that we only stayed there for a night only.

Overall it was a very good stay. Unfortunately Brunei just may take the cake for one of the dullest destinations around, but I kept myself busy for the 24 hours I was there. The best thing of course about Brunei Hotel is that it is very centrally located... just a short walk from all the main sites. The breakfast buffet was delicious and I found the room to be very comfortable. Unfortunately it was overpriced, but everything is in Brunei and based on that standard I thought it was a very reasonable option. The staff was also very lovely and accommodating. I had a flight out to Manila at the god forsaken hour of 2:50am. They let me relax and even nap in the lobby until my taxi came at 12:30 which I was very appreciative of. I mean, I'm not sure I'd really recommend Brunei as a destination since it's expensive and there really isn't much to do, but if someone is going there anyways I'd definitely recommend Brunei Hotel.

If you want to stay and do like a local, this place is the right place. You must take a boat taxi to get there. Mrs. Kem as a host is very very kind, she treath her guest like her member of famiy, chit chat at the terrace, go to the morning traditional market to buy traditional kuih (traditional cake), she will suggest you a nice experience in brunei. The breakfast was so wonderful, breakfast with traditional kuih and with the view of brunei river and ali omar mosque. It’s a bit pricey for the room, but it’a worth with the experience you will get there. If you want a luxury fancy place to stay it is not a right place, but if you want a great experience stay and do like a local it is a right place. Thanks kunyit 7!

The CentrePoint Hotel is located exactly as its name, surrounded by all different restaurants and shops. Better facilities and great views, rooms in great size; comprising, LCD TV, mini fridge, a safe, strong relaxing shower head in a generous bathtub, clean and comfortable room with adjustable room temperature. It also has two swimming pools, one deep pool and the other one is kiddie pool. Our flights arrived around 5:45pm, when we come to the hotel around 6:10pm, took us around 15mins to check in, then straight into the pools because the kids were so looking forward to a pool in Brunei's hot weather (also the reason I changed my booking from The Brunei Hotel to The CentrePoint Hotel). The reception saids the pool close at 8pm, but a board next to the changing room states the pool facilities would close by 9pm, however, our kids had about 1/2 hour fun, someone actually turned off all the lights at 7:30pm, looks like we were welcome to use the pool at all! I have to say it has better facilities than The Brunei Hotel, however, the services are not as good as The Brunei Hotel. Depends on what you're looking for your stays, if you're looking for better facilities, The CentrePoint Hotel would be the one, however, don't expect much smile and services from the staffs. However, one thing I have to mention, is that the airport pick-up is just perfect. The driver was a most friendly and talkative informative that gives great advice on where to visit, best time to leave and how much time we required to get to the airport, honest to charges, hotel told us it would cost BND30 each way for a van, but the driver only charged us BND25 each way, not a big difference but we appreciated his honesty and all the information he has given.
