Traveling to Bangladesh? Find Chittagong Division hotels

The staff were wonderful and really took care of me--from the driver who picked me up at the airport, to the breakfast and dinner staff, to the very helpful staff at the desk. As a woman traveling alone, I felt so comfortable and safe traveling around Chittagong. The staff was also so helpful telling me how to get to museums and other sites, and where to get the best souvenirs. The Bangladeshi restaurant was excellent; I had dinner there every night since I wanted to try the local food, and there was a great selection. Also the breakfast had an excellent selection of food. On the whole the staff was wonderfully welcoming. It is a big 5 star luxury hotel, but it feels very warm and welcoming. I had a really nice stay there.

We wanted to try the best hotel in Cox's Bazar so we decided with royal tulip. They provided shuttle service from Cox's Bazar to the hotel which is about 1 hour ride. When we waited for the shuttle there was some issue with the shuttle bus, hotel management immediately sent out a car to pick us up, very good response from the management. The hotel is very nice, locates in front of the beach and away from the crowd, we felt serenity here. I wish they have shows at scheduled time, or informed us of activity list when we checked in. Rooms are nice, breakfast is good. We are satisfied with the stay

The hotel is quite comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. We didn't use the gym and swimming pool, however, they looked good and well maintained. The location of the hotel is near a busy road. We stayed in room # 2009 which is road facing and was a bit noisy till midnight. Rooms at the back should have been more peaceful. The breakfast was good with plenty of options. We had buffet dinner at their 1st floor which was also good, even though there was not enough option.

There are many mid - range hotels in Cox's Bazaar, but the White Orchid is far better than others for the same price. Cleanliness, staff, and breakfast are MUCH better than you will find at similar hotels. Just make sure of the room price. They put me in a premere room without my realizing and I paid a higher price. Still much better than the drab, dirty alternative hotels in Cox's.

The first thing I didn't like after arriving the hotel they were trying to allot me a triple bed room, though I had booked a quadruple room with Agoda. On my denial to take that room they give us a quadruple room. Setting our stuffs in the room we discovered the shower system of bathroom was out of order. They took more than one hour to fix it up, but being failed they shifted us to another room. Getting fresh we went out for dinner. Returning from there we discovered our door lock was not working. Being informed they came and replaced the lock. We were very tired because of a long 12 hours' drive and really upset with this mismanagement. They hotel staff were cooperative but the management is not keen to maintain the quality, I think. Maintenance is poor.

You have to remember there isn't much choice in Chittagong. Whilst the rooms are ok, the air con in the rooms is not - it just blasts out and can't be turned off. Last time I stayed at this hotel the check in staff were very friendly - seem to have taken turn for the worse and the early check out nearly never happened as the guy on reception was struggling to operate the card machine. Curry in the restaurant will be swimming in oil unless you make a point of asking for little or no oil. I did, and it still came out swimming in oil. To be fair the waiter took it back and it came out with hardly any oil - and it was great. It can be done !

I stay at this property every time I visit Chittagong for business. My stays are typically one to two nights. The rooms are comfortable and staff friendly. The rooms are a comfortable size and bathrooms super clean. Showers have good pressure. The air-conditioning works well. Room service food was tasty and arrived within 20 minutes. I particularly like the breakfast buffet because it has offers Sri Lankan dishes including hoppers, curries and lentils and condiments. I will continue to stay the the Peninsula Chittagong on future visits.
