I've paid less than half to stay at true 5 star hotels. Only a few staff were service oriented and outgoing. Staff did their work, but for the most part we had to get their attention and ask repeatedly; staff ranged from only slightly friendly to dismissive. After our underwhelming dinner in the Frontier Mail Restaurant (a charming train car-cum dining space), I was asked to write feedback. Our server reached in front of us as we were getting up to leave to snatch my feedback - and expressed displeasure at my ratings! Perhaps she should've paid more attention or brought us dinner plates instead of serving us on our used appetiser plates! I am not picky, but when I pay for a 5 star hotel, I do have some expectations. Rooms were OK w/ nice beds but far from luxurious - toiletries were poor quality, TV small, etc. Overall this place is not bad - just seriously overpriced. We paid for the lovely common area and the rest was unremarkable.

We stayed in this hotel for couple of nights since this hotel is in the city center. We had a late check in. The staff were very helpful and attentive to our needs. We booked two rooms, one of them smaller compared to the other, even though they both were deluxe rooms. The rooms and bathroom were very clean. They had high speed internet and TV with lot of options for entertainment. The food from the restaurant was delicious. I would definitely recommened people to stay in this hotel.

On arrival we were shown to a very good room with apparently good facilities. However there has clearly been severe damp problems an paint was peeling and dropping from the walls when the curtains were touched. On enquiring about WiFi we were advised there was no reception in this room. Without a request being made by us, it was suggested that we moved rooms. The 2nd room was smaller and less well equipped but with the same areas of damp damage. It soon became apparent that there was a large party going on in the function room below us and the noise was do great the floor shook. Staff agreed that this was unacceptable and moved us yet again. Standard again not as good as the 1st room however because of a problem with a broken pipe there was not a drop of water in the bathroom and so after a day's of travelling there was now showering facility!! This was subsequently resolved later on in the evening. Food was satisfactory and staff were friendly and helpful. However having moved rooms 3 times due to the aforementioned problems and the overall look of the place, we were not at all happy or satisfied with our stay an felt that these matters could and should have been addressed when we came to pay our bill. Foreign visitors should not be accommodated where recognised noise levels such as we experienced were likely

Nothing was good except location. Huge noise day and night. Around 10pm when, We were sleeping, I woke up suddenly die to a huge noise of music. DJ was started and dance was going on just next to my room (there is a a party hall). I had to call reception 4 times and it took half an hour to get that stopped. But my sleep was ruined. The music was even not stopped by them fully. Day before this, I slept in day time around 2pm, suddenly woke up due to huge noise of construction. I do not know why they accept booking when construction is going on. I could not connect agoda to complaint that time but I just wasted my money. If I would have connected agaoda I would have asked for refund and would prefer immediate check out. If you want to sleep please DO NOT BOOK this hotel. There are Two party halls and one open marrige apne inside and adjacent to rooms. 24×7 NOISE arrangement. Food is good but very costly.

The Lodge is an Oasis amidst the forested area. A great place if you love nature and wish to be away from the concrete jungle. If you love bird watching , this is the place, seeing wild peacocks was a first for me! Well in terms of food, the menu is limited but you can always visit the shops near by to get what you need. Friendly support from all and if you need anything done or cleaned, just let them know as they would not want to infringe on your privacy. This is a lodge in a jungle and as the name suggests, go with a mindset to experience that, not a five star hotel!. The garden is beautiful and if you catch the monsoon wind and rain, a walk up the hill is wonderfully soothing for a tired soul. A short stay of three days should suffice if you need to unwind unless you decide you just want to relax or start write a book! Which I did!! The owners of the place are extremely helpful and kind to see to how they can make you comfortable! After a while, its no longer Siswan Jungle Lodge, but Siswan Jungle Home!

The amenities and facilities at hotel are somewhat satisfactory. However, we expect MM international to work and improve on following aspects - 1. Cleanliness - MM should look into cleanliness of blanket cover and bedsheets. These are potential source of mites and infection spread. 2. Toilet bowl was found stained and dirty. It seems that bowl is not being paid attention for long time resulting into stain build up which is distracting actually. 3. Wash basin taps are not cleaned of build up and as such I felt irrittating to touch. Rest of things were satisafctory and given the location and its size, it is okay

This place is a 5 minute walk from Kalka train station and is newly rennovated building. Some details need to be installed (light over bathroom mirror needed and I had some problems w regulating hot water-too much hot water without being able to mix it w cold water-could be a problem w timer or switch). In total, it's a gem for Kalka, staff are very helpful and friendly, I would not hesitate to stay there again. It's convenient location means early morning trains to Shimla are easy to take. There is a restaurant in station that serves good food.

a. Poor hygiene - cleanliness and overall hygiene was low - it didn't feel like a WelcomHeritage property b. Poor quality of beds - the beds sunk in into a curved shape making them really hard to sleep on c. Inadequate variety of food - while the hotel is in a small town, it's not in the middle of a jungle. The quality of the breakfast and the meals (based on their pricing) seemed unworthy of a respectable property

Karnal is a perfect town to stop over in if driving from Manali to Jaipur, and Gopinath the Grand is undoubtably the BEST hotel in Karnal. We received personal and very caring attention from the bothers Mr Ashok (owner/manager) and Mr Vinod (chef extraordinaire) throughout our stay. Nothing was too much trouble and the food was a class above excellent. The love and meticulous attention to detail with which the bothers keep up their family business was obvious throughout our stay. The room was clean and tidy and all facilities were there.
