We arrived to be met by the friendly and helpful owner. Our family room was clean and well kitted with what we needed for our 1 night stay. The shared bathroom facilities was right across our bedroom door and there were ample facilities that even at full occupancy there was no waiting period to use the clean facilities. We were treated to a nice surprise with a hearty soup and bread at night which seems to be a usual. The included breakfast was a good start to the day with a special warm porridge, freshly brewed coffee, juice and even gluten free and dairy free options to compliment the freshly baked muffins and other cereals. Should we visit Picton in future, we will gladly stay there again.

stay in a little villa, each one has three bedrooms, ita own living room and kitchen.. and the communal area has a hot tub, tv room and beautiful garden. its kitch and cool and has an absolutely beautiful sense of home about it. The staff are amazing and place is insanely clean (except when backpackers ruin it). Rooms are spacious and they offer tours. we've been travelling for almost 6months and this place is in my top 10 best hostels around the world. Lockers in each room would be my only suggestion.. but you can store valuables behind reception.

Sequoia lodge backpacker is literally the best hostel I've visited traveling though new Zeland. From the moment you pass the door you already are at home with warm home made soup and chocolate pudding (I wish I could have try it !), the place a tidy and cosy, there's a lot of facilities and the staff is truly kind and make everything to make your stay as nice as possible. I was sick when I arrived I felt so much better after spending three days with them, thank you so much you are the best 🌸

This was the best hostel we stopped in throughout our hole trip through Australia and NZ. The couple that run Tombstone are really helpful and friendly (Even gave us a lift down to train station). The hostel is next to the bluebridge ferry terminal which is great when your carrying a heavy bag. Our room was really clean, comfortable bed and had iys own friendly cat! Breakfast was also included. Fantastic stay, wished all hostels were this good.

Well it's not a hotel thou. It's a Holiday Park (I dont know if this term of Holiday Park is familiar, but I use it all the time to describe this such accomodation). I got the lodge (double bunk bed). The bathroom was shared with $1 hot water for 5 minutes ($1 coin only) but it was really clean and bright. They also have laundry room, full function kitchen, and very spacious playgrounds. But you have to bring your own linen here (or just use a sleeping bag) because they dont provide it (and they already told this upfront). The staffs are amazing and friendly.

Very good. Though we arrived past 10pm due to a delay by the ferry service, the host, Barbara was waiting patiently for our arrival and even upgraded us to a unit by itself to save us the trouble of moving around. So we were able to settle and rest for the night. Host also provided good tips on the attractions location which made our drive even more convenient. Very thoughtful host!

The owners only took over the motel in Sep 17 so I think the rooms have just been recently renovated. I love the small touches they have put into the decor of the room. While the room we booked was small, it was very cosy and comfortable. Location is very good as well with many food places and shops on the same street. Though, note that while there is a microwave and utensils provided, there is no kitchen sink. However, the owners have placed a pail in the room for you to deposit your dirty dishes and utensils, and they will wash them every day. Overall, a pleasant stay.

Overall this was a pleasant experience. We arrive after reception closed, so they put a sign with our name on the door which we found easily and quickly got settled into. The chalets don't have AC so it was VERY humid, but we did have a fan and we kept it running throughout the night. The sheets and bedding were clean and the beds were adequate. The bathrooms were close by and they were shared bathrooms. There were quite a few families staying, but we never once saw any one else in the bathroom while we were using it, so it still felt a little private. Because we were only staying there as a stop over before catching the ferry the next morning, we decided not to use the showers. The bathrooms were very clean though. We were probably only at the the campervan park for about 9 hours, so it was worth the money. But it's definitely not your 4-star hotel.

Overall stay at top10 was 5 in scale of 10. Location, Cleanliness and facilities were good. Kitchen wasn't having any utensils like plates, glass, no kitchen paper roll. Staff wasn't polite and stubborn in talking. It had parking issues ie no specific marking for private car and caravans at all times and what if someone else would park at your place. And firstly staff wasn't accepting their faulty process and were verbally arguing and asking to pay extra charges for wrong parking, which they later accepted and waived the charges off. Rooms and Toilets were clean from shared facilities point of view. Also, they dont warn you before changing extra money for parking in case its not in front of your unit. Also, they dont track vehicles which is coming in or going out, from security point of view. For me, next time I will think twice before booking it unless it is emergency.

Breakfast is included in the price although the Agoda booking said it is not. Simple continental fare but more than sufficient. Bed was comfortable but room was rather small though it was tastefully decorated. The wifi service was fast and stable. Overall, it was still an enjoyable experience staying two nights at this place. Hotel is located quite close to the Interislander ferry terminal.

The owners are hardworking conscientious people and make sure that the accommodation is spotless and in the best condition possible. That being said the building is approaching 100 years old and in need of some serious upgrades.The floor joists in the ceiling above me creaked all night due to any movement of the hotel guest above me. Similarly the walls between room have zero acoustic insulation in them, allowing snoring and conversations of neighboring guests to enter my room. For these reasons the price was a little high!

Handy location in the main street with a short stroll down to the foreshore & restaurants. We had great fun there with our 3 year old - paddling in the water & watching the boats, riding the mini train (NZ 20c each!) & merry go round, the brilliant Aquarium (that includes Tuatara reptiles) was a hit and checking out the amazing history of the Edwin Fox (the world's oldest merchant ship). The Motel had super comfortable beds, good quality sheets with fantastic pillows - I had brought my own and didn't need to use it. The staff were very friendly and helpful - Kent in particular is a real star. He gave us the low down on local attractions & history - he's great for a yarn! We were also given several discount vouchers and allowed to park all day after our checkout (the joys of the off season). We loved our winter getaway to the beautiful Picton & Marlborough Sounds.

thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the mercure picton. good standard of accommodation with good facilities, as per most mercure hotels. we enjoyed a room with a balcony and view of the harbour area, definitely worth the few dollars extra here. just a few minutes to walk to shops and a good variety of eating places, as well as the wharf and companies for bookings for sightseeing of the marlborough sound, as well as museums, galleries, playground and park. not far from the railway station as well as the islander and bluebridge ferry company wharves, which transport people, cars, vans, buses and trucks from the south island to the north island and return. the hotel is also located close to a number of enjoyable and interesting local walks along the harbour, a few kilometres to a yatch harbour, or further along to an interesting moari heritage site. we also enjoyed a walk to the top of the lookout and gained a marvellous view of picton and down through the sound. another great lookout can be reached by car, just a few kilometres out of picton. such an interesting and friendly place, we will definitely be back again. the staff at the hotel made us feel very welcome all the time.

Lochmara lodge is an amazing go-to spot for any type of traveler. staying here gives you free entry to the wildlife recovery and arts centre. you could go hiking up to the top with amazing views of the sounds. spend the day exploring the nature walks, feed some animals including the special kakarikis that they are breeding at their wildlife recovery centre for the department of conservation nz along with others they are taking care of. you also have free use of their kayaks and more. there are a whole lot of things that you could do at this amazing lodge! the service here was also great, the food was yummy with BIG portions, the staff were VERY welcoming and friendly. Overall i would recommend this lovely lodge to anyone that is planning to stay in the sounds. and i would definitely come back again when i get the chance!

Large room, wonderful outside area, all the things you could need in the room. Great location! A lovely walk into the town, the beautiful park just around the corner. Di is a wonderful host. We forgot something in the room and Di was so kind to courier it to us at our next location. She went out of her way to to help us. So with a great room, location and staff we highly recommend Two Tree Lodge.

Janet collected us from the ferry and showed us to our rooms which were lovely and super comfy. Home made cake and shortbread awaited us with tea/coffee making facilities. Lots of info given about where to go, activities and best places to eat in Picton which was handy. Invited up stairs for a glass of beautiful local wine before we headed off for tea. Everything is in walking distance and the views are so pretty. Quiet overnight and woke to a scrumptious breakfast, absolutely the best in our two week stay by far. Pity I only booked for one night but there is always next time.
