Short 5 minute walk from Sendai station. Hotel is very nice. Easily would be twice as much to stay here if this hotel were in Tokyo. Value and excellent service. Hotel is not a large hotel with only 9 floors. Room size is about average for Japan. Maybe even hair bigger considering I could lay out 2 bags and still walk around the room fine. Quality of materials used in room is on par with any other 4-5 star hotel. Laundry facility in hotel that has a separate washer and dryer. That's a selling feature for me because I don't like to dry certain clothing I have on high heat. I would recommend anyone stay here. The staff is super friendly and all spoke English very well, and the service in general throughout the hotel is really good!

this hotel is really outstanding.. the location is very convenient. .it is attached to the East exit of the Sendai JR station..you do not have to go outside to enter the hotel..it is a very new hotel and has the best in room amenities of any hotel I've stayed throughout the world...virtually everything you might need is here..phone chargers, shavers, hair brushes, lotions, hair dryer, pants press, free WiFi, free smartphone (handy phone), ..also the room has an standing shower and an ofuro (deep soaking tub) ..we loved this hotel and would definitely stay here again

I booked this hotel via at the very last minute when i could not finish my works in Sendai. I wish to highlight members to be more careful doing the booking. I was rushing into doing the booking & I made a mistake by clicking on 1 person. I ended up paying 4000 yen more for my wife, which I think it was too much. Paying USD156 per night was not worthy. The other mistake I made was choosing a smoking room. The blanket & pillows were smoked. The smell was not very apparent but was bad enough. The hotel room, the bathroom & toilets were the best in my 9 days stay in Japan.

my stay was short but i was impressed by this hotel. the staff were very friendly and helpful. my room was comfortable with interesting views. i could actually see an outdoors event nearby from my hotel window. so i went to check it out. sort of a small concert - art exhibition - food festival. anyway, the hotel is a great spot to explore sendai city center from. around the station, there are long above street walkways which make it easy to get around and sight see. when i left, with 2 medium sized suitcases i easily got from my hotel to the shinkansen on foot. i'll definitely book jal sendai again next time i come this way.

My husband and I initially chose this hotel because it had the lowest price for our stay. We didn't expect much, but when we arrived we were very pleasantly surprised. The staff was very friendly and eager to please. Breakfast was fantastic and had lots of choice for my vegetarian self and my meat-loving husband. After 9pm, complimentary ramen was served. This was very nice after a long night of sight-seeing. My husband and I also had massages at the hotel. They were very nicely priced and so pleasant after walking around as much as we did. The location of the hotel was perfect. It was right in the middle of the shopping district and we were able to walk to Sendai Station and Zuihoden (the Masamune mausoleum) from our hotel. Though we opted to not have our room cleaned, we were provided with fresh towels and lounge clothes (with the hotel logo--they were super comfortable, too!) each morning. We did not take advantage of this either, but the hotel also offers a laundry service and has a microwave for customer use. Right next door to the hotel is a Sunkus, which we visited often for snacks and drinks. All in all, my husband and I were beyond pleased with our experience. I definitely recommend the Dormy Inn to anyone travelling to Sendai.

After booking to stay here for 3 nights I received a message from the hotel saying there would be a blackout. I was fine with this after reading as it stated that the blackout would be from 1.00am-5.30am which would be fine as we would be asleep anyway. We arrived on the first night after travelling from Tokyo (around 8pm) and needed to go out for dinner. We went out for dinner and headed back to the hotel for around 12.40am so that we would be back in time before the blackout. When we arrived the outside of the hotel was blocked off and all the lights were off and we couldn’t enter the hotel. I tried to call the hotel and messaged on Agoda too but had no response. So we ended up trying to book another hotel for the night but we didn’t have our passports on us as they was back in the room so we wasn’t accepted anywhere. We ended up having to wander the streets of Sendai until we found a late night Izakaya. We finally got into the hotel room at around 5.45am and had to get some sleep before getting up early. The issue here was miss-communication - the English speaking man that spoke to us on reception didn’t explain properly about the blackout and the sheet they had given us with details wasn’t clear as it said “1.00am-5.30am (midnight)” so we asked him do you mean 12.00am or 1.00am and he assured us 1.00am which clearly wasn’t the case. Other than this huge shadow over our stay, the hotel room was ok, it was clean, there was amenities and a smart phone to use outside the hotel for free wi-fi. I think we would of had a more positive stay if it wasn’t for the first night we had.

Excellent location, good value for money and efficient and friendly staff. The only thing that I did not like was that the bed and pillow were too hard for my taste, and that the breakfast options were a little adventurous, although coffee and simple bread buns were available, as well as scrambled eggs, sausages and yoghurt. Westerners may bear this in mind when booking this hotel.

I stayed 3 nights. The second day when I returned to hotel, found a card from housekeeping stating that they were unable to do housekeeping due to fact that someone was in the room, which is impossible as I was travelling alone and left the hotel at 730am and only went back at 830pm. Highlighted to the reception, but seems like they don't understand what I mean. I suspected that someone went into my room to rest while I was not around actually. Nothing was lost though.

If you are looking for a modern, clean capsule hotel with great amenities, i highly recommend any of the 9h hotels. They all come with the best facilities including shower, lockers and of course the famous Toto toilets. Capsule size is quite large, definitely no issues with it at all, however only comes with one power port which can be challenging. Location is great as it is close to a lot of food options, i'd suggest grabbing some famous Sendai Gyuu-tan (Beef tongue) at any of the Sendai Gyuutan Ryori Kaku joints.

it's one of the best hotel experience I had in Japan. It is so beautiful, quiet and clean, the staffs after super caring and friendly too. Love the onsen very much, as this hotel could be located at a more secluded place they have little guests too, so the onsen is never crowded. Room is the most spacious I ever seen in Japan. Will definitely return when I'm back to Sendai for visit!

Right in the neighborhood of the Sendai downtown area without paying the exorbitant costs. Located near the shopping arcade and great restaurants. Simple stay for a great price. Solid Japanese style cafeteria breakfast every morning. If you are familiar with Japanese travel hotels, this is a good one. If you are some foreigner expecting some 5 star experience book a boutique hotel and pay 5 times as much.

This is a fantastic hotel. The staff and greeting were fantastic as well. The room and view were also were above board. The two draw backs for us was the fact that it was so far away from the train station and the beds were very hard. I like a firm bed by western standards, but not as hard as Japanese might like. So the location for train access and the firmness of the beds are the only reasons for me not to give a complete 5 star rating.

There's not much to say other than that the wonderful staff made our weekend absolutely magical!!! Our only complaint was that the shower in our room wouldn't find a suitable temperature, we could only get it to be too hot or too cold, but this isn't even a problem if you opt to shower and bathe in the onsen, which we did. A couple forewarnings, dinner isn't available after 7:30 or so, but we called ahead to let them know we'd check in late and they were very accommodating and understanding. Also, if you're as tall as me, (193 cm), you might find the yukata a little short and the slippers a little small, but this is a characteristic of Japan as a whole, not the hotel. Also, mind your noggin. Doorways in Japan are only about 180 cm high. All this being said, the onsen was incredibly relaxing, the room had a gorgeous view, the food was impeccable... I'm already thinking ahead to coming back!

We opted to book this hotel because (1) it was close to Sendai station and our event venue (2) it was within our budget. The hotel had great service, offering us a bigger bed than what was booked (since the hotel wasn’t full) and was accommodating when my friend checked out later than required. It is located close to the shopping street with many dining options. It’s a pity the aircon temperature couldn’t be adjusted but it was still a good stay on the whole.

I stayed at Value The Hotel Sendai Natori for lack of other choices, but there's nothing to complain about. It's a very decent place for travelers on a budget, even with the lack of public transportation except taxis. My room was quite large for a Japanese hotel, exceedingly neat and with good lighting. Surprisingly, the toilet seat wasn't the customary washlet, just a regular one, but I guess it comes with the two stars. Coin laundromats are available if needed. Breakfast didn't offer much in terms of choice, but the traditional food was tasty and filling. All in all, quite fine for an overnight stay.

The hotel has everything you need during travel. They provide us a smart phone with wifi and you can use it anywhere. They provide free laundry, which is very helpful for long stay. They provide all the information of local tourism and most updated information. They provide basic breakfast, however, never change daily. I stay for 7 days and I give up the breakfast for the final several days for I cannot eat the same food for so many days. Their stuff speak no English... I have some problem when using laundry and they asked somebody else's help. Altogether I think this is a great place to stay with budge. The location is perfect.

The rooms are fine according to Japanese standards. During our stay, we had a problem with the toilet, and the staff was very nice and upgraded our room to a deluxe room. The only drawback about this hotel is in my opinion the breakfast, which was not as good at the other hotel that we have been to. For a westerner, the choice of food for the breakfast may not be very good.

I stayed in a discounted "Double King" room and loved it. The hotel room was very clean, and had modern-looking, stylish and comfortable linens. There was parking available in the hotel but at an additional fee of ~1100 yen for the night. I'm not sure what the rates are for a longer stay. However, this rate is consistent with the rates offered by the private parking lots nearby. Unfortunately they only allow you to use the parking area while you are a guest, so after check-out you will have to find a new place to park. There are several next door. Japanese hotels tend to run on the small side, and although this room was larger than most it was no exception. The bed took up roughly half the room, although there was still plenty of space for a couple to put bags, clothes, etc. The TV was not huge, but larger than most I've seen in Japanese hotels. Overall the hotel itself was a very nice place to stay. It's located a few blocks from the main Sendai train station (and bus stops) as well as the shopping areas, so it's very convenient for everything Sendai has to offer.

This was a good basic hotel. Rooms were tight by American standards, but average for Japanese hotels. Slippers, pj, toothbrush, razors, bath sponges were provided. Staff were cordial. Location was a few blocks from main shopping arcade but a cab ride recommended if coming from Sendai station. Breakfast was the true highlight of this place! It was all homemade traditional Japanese dishes in abundance. The two ladies that work the kitchen cook everything from scratch. We would return just for the breakfast!!!

For those worried about walking distance to JR Sendai, as I was when I booked this hotel, I did it in 7 minutes at my usual brisk clip, door to door. You may get held up at one pedestrian crossing for what seems like an eternity. On the other hand, there are walkways that mitigate against that risk. I doubt you will find a better, closer hotel than this one. For some reason we were placed in a room on one of the Comfort Floors, which sounds good though I don't know how it compare with a room on a regular floor. But it was good for the soul, at least. Best part was the vouchers for free (nonalcoholic) drinks at the Royal Host restaurant next door. I took my iPad and surfed the Web for a good hour or 2 every night while knocking back untold cups of cocoa. I paid for breakfast once, and overdosed on pancakes. Staff were very pleasant. Only minor quibble is poor directions given on the website. I found the hotel more by luck than anything, though it was not too hard in hindsight.
