Was worried by bad reviews re condition of property. Nothing to worry about, as was well maintained and all very clean. Smelly/smokey casino but that’s Vegas. Staff not as pleasant as in other USA visits, but nothing to concern one self about. Receptionist seemed irritated to be doing job and some other staff seemed to be very abrupt in dealings. Good free parking. With resort fee not very good value compared with hotels worldwide but it was still the best priced 4 star we could find for strip. Good location and easy walk to all other iconic places there. Had 2 for 1 at the Seafood Shack, lobster and crab. Great value and gorgeous fresh seafood. All in all I would go back, but hopefully would book earlier and get cheaper rate.

The rooms are large, clean, and modern but no fridge. Shower was one of the best. Get a room above about the 7th floor if you don't want a view of a wall - I was on the 8th floor and could just see over the parking garage roof. Last time I was lower and could only see a wall. Hotel has everything including good restaurants with reasonable prices. Beverages at the bar are about half the price of strip hotels. Gift shop has the best prices for alcohol I have ever seen. Seriously prices are as good as Costco. Large racebook and sportsbook, Steak and Shake near the books, theaters, equestrian center, bowling, etc. This place has it all and the value for your money is really good. Drawback for some is that it is located 4 miles south of the other strip hotels but it is just off the freeway (15), has a free shuttle to the strip, free airport transfers, and best of all if you are driving from Los Angeles you save 20 minutes going and returning.

I loved Eataly!! I couldn’t wait to eat and shop at the many restaurants and boutiques in Eataly. Location is excellent(right on strip). If you are craving Italian or just want a freshly cooked steak, wine, and desert....Eataly is a must visit for anyone. Sports bar and sports book is one of the best on the strip, I was literally glued to my seat during the final four tournament. Best spicy chicken sandwich is available at restaurant next to sports bar. DJ was playing some good sounds during commercial breaks!! It was an awesome experience. Rooms are very spacious, clean, with excellent views of the strip and T-Mobile arena. Overall I give this hotel/casino 2 thumbs way up!!

Beautiful hotel, beautiful room (even bathroom), beautiful service!!!! The best location on the strip, smack bang in the middle of all the actions, literally in the middle of the strip. Restaurants and bars in the hotel/casino are excellent, the trip up to the Eiffel tower was unforgettable. Everything was very satisfying, the only downside was we didn't stay long enough :) Book in early for affordable rate!!

The Golden Nugget was a unique experience for our group. Previously we had all stayed in Strip hotels, and as I expected, Fremont Street and the Golden Nugget were laid back and perfect for us. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. The front desk staff, bellman, and housekeepers were all very friendly and helpful. The Noodle House restaurant had some of the best Asian food my family has had, including the sushi. I was a bit put off by the charges for things that at other hotels in other cities were complimentary. Such as USA Today, use of the hotel fitness center, and internet service. In this economy, it seems a daily newspaper could have been included. Perhaps with the cost of my $8 Bloody Mary! I would also suggest that the hotel is actually sending their guests screaming in terror at the thought of sitting through the Gordie Brown Show. After 5 days at the Golden Nugget, riding the elevators with the continuous video loop of Gordie highlights, his show was the last thing our family wanted to see. Mostly though, we would highly recommend the Golden Nugget to our friends!

NYNY was easy to get to from the airport and provides free self parking behind the hotel. We had no problem finding a parking space near the elevator. Check in on Weds night at 8:45 was quick. We were placed in a 5th floor room off the New Yorker elevator. The room had a terrible view of the back of the hotel and the roller coaster. That is really the only black spot on an otherwise great stay. The beds and decor seemed recently updated. The rooms were clean. We never heard our neighbors and I hope they didn't hear us as I had to rise around 6am each day. The casino has a great vibe, very lively. The restaurants were fantastic. I had the best steak I have ever had at Gallagers. Overall a great place to stay, just make sure you request a higher floor.

I'm a hard working mom who needed a little escape. The Tuscan Suite was everything I needed and more! Great bed, fluffy pillows and very clean. The highlight for me was the giant tub with jets. The tub can easily fit 2, it's so big! I can't say enough how perfect this room was! Well worth the money. My ONLY complaint is the restaurants closed at 9:30 on a Friday night which left eating options scarce. However, room.service is available 24/7! Best place you can stay in Reno without a doubt!

One of the pioneer hotel in Las Vegas, the room feels like you're in the '70s or '80s but very spacious and clean --good experience :) our room has a big window with a nice view of the Sierra Nevada mountain ranges afar, the hotel is located at end corner of Fremont street where the action begins (near Golden Nugget), varieties of restaurants and casinos are at the ground level, friendly and very helpful staffs, airport transfer is available with VIP treatment. Other minor downsides; no kettle for boiling drinking water in the room, no bidet spray in the toilet. Overall, the hotel is highly recommended.

Totally decent 3/4 star hotel in the best section of the strip. Easy access to everything from Paris to Venetian to Wynn to Bellagio. Even walked to MGM and New York with no trouble. Hotel is fairly new so rooms are nice. I was on floor 2 with basically no window, which kind of sucked, but I was alone so I didn't mind. If coming with GF I'd prob thrown down for a 5 star hotel. My only gripe was the pool was kind of a bad experience. 21+ only, no where to sit with shade unless you pay hundreds of dollars and the staff were kind of jerks out there.

I was passing through Vegas for a couple of days and elected to book Planet Hollywood last minute. Arriving at the hotel, I elected to self park which meant I had to trek clear around the shopping promenade and through the casino just to get to registration. Not a huge issue, but if you have a considerable amount of luggage, I would advise you just valet. I had a bit of an issue upon check in when I was informed that there would be a standard $20 "resort fee" on top of the rate quoted and paid to Agoda. Despite my insistence that the fee was not disclosed and that I had no intention of using the services for which the fee was meant to cover (phone, gym, and internet), I was assessed the fee anyways and told to take it up with the booking agency. Despite the additional fee, the rate that I received for the evening was actually quite reasonable and about half of what I am accustomed to paying for comparable hotels in Vegas (though I noticed the price for the next night was significantly higher). Apart from that, the rest of the stay was fine. The room was spacious and comfortable. Had dinner at Burgr which is a Gordon Ramsey burger joint just off the casino floor. Arguably one of the best burgers I recall ever having.

The rate was the best my group was able to find and I thought the room was going to look super cheap and rund own buuut I was so wrong! The room was sooo amazing and spacious, clean and the view was of a lovely golf course. The staff was very accommodating as my booking was for 2 queens but they offered the king at the same rate! This has never happened for me hotels are always trying to charge extra for the king size bed. The huge flat screen tv and Jacuzzi tub were amazing as well. The pool was great and the strip is literally down the street from this hotel! If you can't tell from my review it was a great stay! Would definitely recommend to others.

I realize I booked into a Casino, so I may not be fair in my review. The hotel itself is quite nice, with lots of conveniences such as stores, coffee shops, bars etc. The pool was awesome, with the hot tub being a relief after a long day. The problem is, I expected more of a resort feel, not a casino where the heavy smoke filled the air. If you are a smoker, this place will suit you better. Since I am no longer accustomed to spending the weekend inhaling smoke, I was bothered by it. Like I said, this is not a fair review, but you asked me what I thought.

we have stayed at the tropicana on four occasions now.this year we have voted it the best hotel we have ever stayed in,and in the usa that is many.the whole remake of the hotel has been wonderful.this year we stayed at the club tower,wonderful.the room,the service everything could not have been better,we have just getten back to england and we are already booking tropicana for next year.great.

Hotel staff was very helpful, check-in went without major issues although it was a last-minute booking through Agoda. My room ("premium") was renovated fairly recently... it was a corner room in the Ivory Tower. Very spacious, with a very nice feel to it... in particular the large (somewhere in the vicinity of 50") flat-screen TV was fun, and the large desk and comfortable office chair were a big plus. The bed and linens were very comfortable, everything was well-appointed. Nice, luxury feel to things... the design of the room was contemporary (if a little pretentious... not a "family" atmosphere... but this is Vegas after all). I felt the lounge chair and ottomans in the room definitely had a "form before function" feel to them -- fun to look at, but not comfortable for sitting/lounging at all -- but this is a small quibble and was more than made up for by the bed and the nice desk chair. The only downside was that the weather was uncharacteristically cloudy/rainy during my whole stay, so I could not enjoy the pool much. Seemed like it would have been a great party atmosphere (though again, not for kids). The hotel is home to some very posh restaurants, which looked tempting but were way out of my price range. They have a 24/7 diner, though, which is reasonably priced (with really good food and excellent service), and there's also a "food court" next to a large, embedded multiplex theater that gives a number of budget-friendly food and entertainment options. There are also a number of interesting bars and night spots, though I can't say much about them (nightlife is not really my thing). Overall it was a great stay. My only complaint was the weather, which I can hardly blame on the hotel.

The hotel portion of the casino was excellent and the staff very helpful. I received a good value for the money. But and this is a big BUT, maybe I'm just old and out of date, the taxes and fees that are charged on everything in a resort area just blows me away. The reason I do not give 5 stars was the hotel said I received a credit for not cleaning the room the first day of my stay, but the staff would come in and make sure the the room was stocked. Never saw anyone my entire stay and had to call housekeeping just to get some room coffee. Nice hotel, close and convenient to most things Reno.

We were traveling to have Christmas with our son - so we were just looking for a convenient and economical hotel to sleep in. Additionally, we don't gamble, so the casino that filled the entire first floor of the hotel was annoying to us. That said, the room was spacious, spotless, and well appointed. The bed was comfortable, and there was a coffee maker and refrigerator in our room. We also had a view of the golf course. So even with the casino we had no interest in, this stay was a 5-star. We'd do it again.

Quite a good place to stay provided you are not keen to be 'on' the strip. The hotel has undergone a recent renovation so it doesn't feel dated. The dining table and chairs were thankfully from a few decades back and felt supremely sturdy and comfortable like good old 'back in the day' stuff. Most rooms do not have mini bar or refrigerator but the hotel was kind enough to have one sent over for us to store baby food. We had the Premium King room on 15th floor and the view of the city was amazing. For food, there is the Brass and Fork restaurant ; though the Feast buffet is the ideal bargain given the excellent taste, huge selection and reasonable price. The access to the feast buffet is however only through the casino and since smoking is allowed inside, you do need to rush past the slot machines and roulette tables if you have a child with you or else risk exposing your baby to second hand cigarette smoke! An alternate access to the buffet would have been great. Also, the location is awesome if you intend to visit places outside Vegas as you are minutes from the ramp and exit. Covered parking is in abundance, valet parking is available too. Definitely worth the money and certainly would recommend it to others.

new year's eve 2013! las vegas. when calling to make a res "in person" was directed to a website with an inducement of a resort credit. automatically redirected to a second website to book - no resort credit in the end. woefully understaffed for new year's eve. long queue at check in, only two agents for check in, one bartender and two cocktail waitresses. for new year's eve. really? children everywhere of every age. zero activities for them. children rolling around on the dance floor. not a family event. it should have been an adult evening. dinner in medici was delicious, but couples were put at tables of ten regardless how many in your party. champagne included, but not available unless you picked it up at the hostess station upon arrival for seating. (who knew?) only two seatings, 7 or 9pm. arrival for dinner could have had staggered start times i.e. 6:45, 7:00, 7:15, etc. to avoid the long line. dancing confined to the lobby bar area, ballroom remained locked for the evening. breakfast the next morning in the medici again was delicious, but no one available to greet and seat us. wait staff never refilled coffee or juice, even upon request. since it's buffet, why not have self-serve drinks? not offered mimosa or bloody mary, etc , even at an upcharge. it appeared management was operating "on the cheap" for the entire holiday. the staff appeared disinterested in the guests. would loved to have been greeted with a few smiles and maybe some helpful information. a pity as the potential for greatness is possible from a dolce property. you missed the mark to win our repeat business.

I went up to see a show at Harrah's, and planned to stay overnight, so I wouldn't have a late night drive through the mountains. The altitude and smoke were hard for me, but when I got to my room I was so relieved and happy to find it didn't smell of smoke, was extremely quiet, very spacious and with a terrific view of the lake. I should note that my room was just steps from the elevator, but despite that the quiet was wonderful. I hadn't asked for any special view. The one fail was that I checked in late after the show I attended, and wanted to order room service to just have my dinner in my room where I could just relax. When I tried to call room service, I found my room phone didn't work followed by a lot of frustration and time on hold as I used my cell phone to call the hotel and finally reached Room Service, who were great.

The Westin is a basic business Hotel with nice amenities for the price. We booked an amazing deal on Agoba so the hotel was a great value. We had a queen double room with plenty of space. There were four of us staying in there and we never felt cramped! The bathroom had a great mirror with a little magnifying mirror on the side that was very useful. The downstairs casino was very convenient and just the right size. We went to the pool often and it was a little crowded in the afternoons so get there early to get a spot in the shade!

Magnificent setting on Lake Las Vegas surrounded by mountains! I had to ask, and on checking in they upgraded us to a lake view (I’ve belonged to SPG for 15 yrs). No prob with the Agoda booking, thx. The room was clean and the view, spectacular. I hate paying resort fees but this hotel took it to a whole new level. $32.77 per night for 2 bottles of water (which weren’t replenished), parking (free in almost all Las Vegas hotels even on the strip), a pool (pretty standard in 4 star hotels but they did have a lifeguard), and that was pretty much it. They have stopped providing water sports and the beach is enclosed in a cage (really). All beach amenities like paddleboards are rented at $25 per hour plus, by a third party. The coffee shop was only open from 6 - 11 am on Sunday and Monday (really) and they had no regular tea. I would stay again but I feel that Marriott is nickle-and-diming the Starwood hotel brand to death and decreasing its value.
