My wife and I booked and stayed at the Royal Station Hotel, and we were thoroughly impressed with our stay there. In fact the 5 star ratings we gave it are a fair reflection of what we experienced there. Upon our arrival we were upgraded to a suite, and the suite was actually bigger than our apartment in Hong Kong. The true comfort and peace and quiet was great, with it being next to the main road running past the Central Station in Newcastle, all windows were double-double glazed meaning we couldn't hear anything past about 8pm. The location is ideal, as you can access buses and trains which will enable you to visit some of the legendary landmarks the whole region has to offer. It really is too good an opportunity to be missed if you're planning for such an excursion. I'd recommend this hotel to families, couples, and business travelers.

Lovely hotel, very central right across from train station ...lots of bars & restaurants around. The room was nice apart from the cracked sink in the bathroom, also there was 3 of us and the room was set up for two ....only 2 cups for tea/ coffee plus 2 glasses in bathroom for brushing teeth..phoned down to reception who said they would get some up ASAP....but left and still waiting on them appearing. Breakfast was good full English buffet style ...cereals......cheeses...ham...croissants...pastries. Staff very smart & friendly. Security was excellent could only access lifts with room card .... late at night coming back there was security guards taking your name & room number . Would definitely recommend this hotel.

I would describe the hotel room as being minimalist functional with charm. A delight to stay in. Everything was clearly arranged and all the things I may have needed were available in the room. I would give the hotel at least 9.0 marks out of ten; but for the wifi which was so slow that even a 2 minute you tube took near 8 minutes to watch with endless buffering. Anything heavier was a complete and total waste of time. Ended up watching the neatly placed TV. BBC2! On average the score would be 9.0- 1zillion for the claim "wifi in all rooms" which should read "very slow wifi in room 9."

The hotel caters for vegetarians and gluten free diets freely supplied them at short notice and all the staff couldn't do enough for you .The rooms were lovely with great views of the Millenium bridge especially which lghts up at night and changes colour .The breakfasts especially your spoilt for choice from fresh fruit and homemade Granola to a full English and again very attentive staff.Ideal location for exploring the city and beyond and for the 3 hour cruise along the Tyne towards the North sea .We even got a complimentary glass of bubbly each when we had dinner and a card from all at the hotel on our special day.Can't praise the hotel high enough and well worth a visit.

Enjoyed my stay here. There were good bars/ places to eat/ a waitrose nearby . 5 min walk to metro. Nice staff at the hotel. Had a good steak at Scalanis restaurant, Osbournes restaurant next to the hotel was a nice place for a drink. Especially worth a visit during happy hour. Taxi to Newcastle/Quayside easy to get/book and not sure exactly, (due to amount of alcohol consumed) but was under a tenner and 5-10 min journey at most. Would stay again and recommend.

The Hotel was fabulous, the foyer was spectacular, very modern and quirky , the rooms are very well furnished and were very beautiful, they are small but they are perfect for relaxing in. The only negative issue with this hotel is because of its location and appeal its a homing beacon for Stag and Hen Nights. On our stay (fri-sun)During the late night hours several Hens and stags had checked into the hotel and they where staying on our floor and we were awake the whole night with the noise . we even had one party try to get into our room because they thought it was their room, which was unsettling. the staff did intervene with the parties but they still kept us up all night. Apart from that the hotel is splendid and the food is excellent in the shark bar (A classy ''Hooters'' like environment as we called it). Andf literally a stones throw from james park and Eldon square shopping centre which was a plus. ;)

Booked two rooms for myself husband, son and his fiancee could not believe they gave us fifth floor executive rooms with balconies overlooking the tyne bridge and river along with admission to the executive lounge with free alcholic drinks and snacks before we went out to the evening wedding night at the Sage just over the road. Booked the breakfast on arrival at discounted rate of was not disappointed. Don't like paying for car parking when staying at a hotel but will forgive them for the fabulous rooms.

I booked a room at this hotel as a birthday treat and the visit was incredible from start to finish. We were greeted by lovely staff that were incredibly welcoming and upbeat, open to having a conversation which I loved, this is surprisingly rareally in my experience and it made us feel more at home. The room was amazing!! For booking a standard room we were expecting a small room with basic amenities however, we were given a huge room (room 007) that was fitted with air-conditioning, floor length windows and beverage facilities. I especially loved the most free mirror in the bathroom, something so simple but makes a huge difference and you certainly notice and appreciate it. I want to further highlight the wonderful service of the Sleeperz staff as they were lovely throughout our stay and will be definitely returning and recommending this hotel in the future.

This is the second time I've stayed at this particular Campanile Hotel, the first being earlier this year, unfortunately the same great price for a room wasn't forthcoming this time so it pays to book well in advance to get the best deal. Either way shop around on the internet, I was able to save myself over £15 booking through a third party site against booking direct with Campanile's own webpage, however it was still around double I paid before. The rooms are pretty standard fayre, mine being a double offered a good level of comfort, bed and pillows provided a sound nights sleep. TV, a good powerful shower over bath, hair dryer and tea/coffee making facilities provide all the essentials needed to compete a comfortable stay. Breakfast wasn't included in my tariff, however this can be added to on the visit, I went for the full continental and cooked option at just under a tenner. With a great choice of cooked options, all freshly prepared it was very welcome start to the day

Visited Village Hotel Newcastle again as we were so impressed the first time. The staff are lovely and very helpful and always at hand day or night. The rooms are always very clean and tidy and very comfortable. Enjoyed the breakfast every day and would recommend to other travellers without hesitation. Only one bug bear, could we just have a kettle and some coffee rather than the complicated coffee machines?

Modest but adequate room size. More plug sockets than I've ever seen in a hotel room before - the whole family could charge phones, tablets, computers and cameras and still have a socket to use the tea and coffee making facilities! Good cooked breakfast. Easy check-in and out. Staffing was sparse as you'd expect in a budget location but they were responsive, helpful and polite. Would use it again if driving to/from Scotland or flying from Newcastle airport. Good parking for car within barrier protected site. Could leave car while on holiday at reasonable price.

reception was well organised, booking forms on hand and a very pleasant welcome. room excellent, spacious, modern, well appointed bathroom with all the touches you would expect. early morning call on time and check out very simple. evening meal was good value and well served. i would have no hesitation in using the hotel again if my next holiday was to be off an early flight. only down-side was that the room is so dark (and quiet!) that i couldn't see the time on the clock as it appearred to be in 'darkened mode'.

First ever hotel we stayed that goes an extra mile for their guests. Notable examples include: - good room/furniture layout. - proper designed kitchen (you don't bang your head when cooking). - laundry basket in the room (laundry use is free but you have to buy wash tablets or bring your own). - 24h complementary bar that offers tea, coffee, sparkling water and still water. - evening reception from Monday-Wednesday with free drinks and nibbles for people to social. Definitely our first choice next time to Newcastle.

We booked a small double for £52, and continental breakfast. The Cairn is well located for access to Newcastle, on a busy road. Sunday night in Jesmond is quieter than the rest of the weekend. Our room was small, but clean. I hated the hard pillows, my husband loved them. We were unfortunate to have two air conditioning units on the external wall and a staff room of sorts above us, but in general we had nothing to complain about, everything in The Cairn is adequate. Staff are very pleasant and helpful. Food was fine. Happy hour in the bar- brilliant. We have stayed in several hotels in Jesmond for short visits, and The Cairn is better than many.

When I arrived to check in at reception, the receptionist was very rude and had a massive attitude problem, I arrived at 2pm (the time I stated on my voucher with Agoda, who I booked with) and was told abruptly that I couldn't check in until 3pm, she seemed to like the power she had, it was written all over her body language. I am a seasoned traveler worldwide and that was the worst ever I have been treated. I trust Holiday Inn will discuss this with all their staff to retrain them appropriately.

After booking on a bargain price I checked previous reviews, some of which were awful. However I noticed they were from some years ago, more recent reviews were far more positive. And I can only add to them, was nicely situated just a mile from the centre with bus stops nearby, staffwere freindly and helpful, room was great and bed very comfy. Only problem on the 2nd night was a group of teenagers who arrived back from partying in the early hours and decided to carry on partying rather loudly. I eventually had to go downstairs and speak to the Night Manager who informed me he'd already had calls from other residents. He went up and told them in no uncertain terms that they were disturbing other guests. I asked him as I suffer from CFS could I possibly have later check-out so I could get some sleep and he kindly agreed I could check out at 1pm instead of 11am. He apologized profusely about these rowdy guests but obviously it wasn't his fault and quickly sorted the situation out.

We were booked into the newer half of the hotel which is great given my dislike of creepy older hotels. However, the room that we got didn't have air conditioning, which made it a little stuffy. Room was okay, not awesome, but not bad. The layout of the block we were in was a little weird, over a gym - so every time we came in or out, the gym/spa front desk would look at us expectantly. Location was good though, everything was just walking distance.

Great location, within short walking distance to the main centre. Spacious room and clean. My main problem is the lack of WIFI which for 2018 is totally unacceptable. We had a daily allowance of 30 minutes free per day and the option for 24 hrs at 3 pounds whilst only a small amount, it was an additional charge I refused to pay given you can walk into any coffee shop and WIFI is included in the price of your coffee and all the recent hotels I have stayed in offered free WIFI for the duration of our stay. So something to bear in mind. Aside from this, our stay was wonderful.

Stayed here after travelling around hotels in the the North for a week and this was the best Hotel by far I stayed in. Hotel staff were helpful and attentive. We had food in the Tavern and the Fish was superb! Hotel cleanliness was something that had been short on our travels but Hallgarth Manor soon made up for this. Hotel was spotless and room was beautifully clean. I will definitely be booking to stay at Hallgarth Manor again when I return to the North. Thank you for having us
