This was the perfect hotel for a couple who were first time visitors to Queenstown (not skiiers) who wanted a zen-like rejuvinating experience in the extreme sport mecca of the world The Sherwood's sustainable concept reminds me of the McMenamins establishments in Oregon and Washington state. Loved their yoga offerings, farm fresh dining options, sauna/massage, and the curated offerings of live entertainment/concerts. Excellent location: you are only a short bus ride to downtown Queenstown, so you can enjoy its excitement when you want to. If you do ski, Sherwood's location lets you avoid downtown Queenstown traffic jams to/from the slopes. Highly recommended.

We were so happy with our 6 day stay at The Glebe in January. We stayed in the studio room which was so comfortable and beautifully decorated. We had everything in our kitchen even a rice cooker! It was the best provisioned kitchenette we have ever stayed at. They provided you with an abundance of every amenity even down to the dish soap. The ladies who run this fabulous establishment do an amazing job at making their guests feel completely welcome and do whatever they can to action every request. It's been a long time since I have been at a hotel that always answered 'yes' to any reasonable request that you had. You are so close to everything in downtown Queenstown making it easy to grab food from the store or go out for dinner.

The location was exactly how I like - not right in the city centre (no noise, no crowd, no pollution), but very close it. By very close, I mean easily walkable. There's a short cut to reach the centre centre by foot - which is uphill (only about 100 meters or so - the rest of the way is quite flat) when you go back to the hotel but almost all of New Zealand has big ups and downs. It wasn't a problem for me although I had a bad knee scrape at that time. The room itself was quite spacious and the kitchen was adequately equipped. The staff were very responsive and professional. The room was serviced everyday (basic cleaning and replacing towels etc,) - I was surprised that they even did the dishes when I left in a rush left a few dishes in the sink. Like many other hotels in NZ, this is also easily reachable by Super Shuttle from the airport ($20). Overall, I had no complaints and had a very pleasant stay. I think it's very good value for money. I'd definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone.

This is a bit out of town center. A taxi into town costs $39 nzd. But you can take the bus for $5. Most of the tours I booked still picked me up from here. I loved staying here because it’s away from the crowds. It’s super clean. They have a cafe off of the lobby. There’s also a shopping center with a grocery store and other restaurants within a 5 minute walk. Honestly, most places in town were unreasonably pricey but this is a great option for the price.

We booked this apartment because of its location overlooking the lake. It was a good choice. Fortunately there is a lift to take your luggage up from the underground garage to the fifth floor, leaving us only a few stairs to climb to our penthouse apartment. The view from the glass doors was breathtaking and we enjoyed sitting out on the huge balcony overlooking the lake and town. These apartments are just far enough from the town centre to avoid the noise of the nightlife in Queenstown, but are still only a few metres walk to the shops. The apartment was well fitted out and had very tasteful decor. The ensuite was excellent, with two showers and plenty of storage space. This was the most expensive apartment that we booked on our travels, but it was certainly worth the money and was the best accommodation of our three week trip.

As our flight into Queenstown arrived early in the morning we transferred to this hotel expecting to just leave our bags and return later in the day. Upon arriving, the duty manager took it upon herself to liaise with housekeeping staff to have one of the two rooms we had booked ready for us within the hour. The duty manager took our mobile number and called us within the hour while we having breakfast to advise the room was ready and we could return and check in at our leisure. This allowed us to wander around Queenstown and get some breakfast and have a shower after a long flight then get on with our full day of activities. The service at this property was impeccable. The rooms are very well appointed with great views and very comfortable beds. A great experience.

Great Hotel, just two issues. Firstly there are no ovens in the kitchenette, which is unfortunate. There is also a large Moose head on the wall near the elevator which you always have to swerve around. So not only is the owner ignorant of the views of people that see majestic animals as being best kept alive in the wild, they want to rub it in your face everytime you enter and leave the place.

Ok granted, we probably got lucky with the views but when i last checked my neighbour's balcony to the right and left, we all had pretty good views! :) From the check-in right to the time we checked out, the stay was 5-stars. The apartment opened up to snow-capped mountains up ahead, the kitchen was roomy for those cooking (there were 2 cooks! and 2 other nosy bystanders at the same time!), the dining area and the TV area was comfortable. What we love most? 3 rooms for privacy and 2 large bathrooms. The two bathrooms was really really thoughtful for those with more than 3 persons travelling in a group. We got the upper floor so there was a bit of climbing with the luggage on our backs but we didn't mind it. Once we got up there, we stayed put. A bit of a drive to the property but amenities were no more than 2 mins away. We couldn't get enough of the stay. Kudos!

I spent 3 nights at the St. James Apartments. On entry I was a little concerned, the was vaccuming going on and few people getting in or out. Specially since it is not our standard reception area like big hotels, I was a little worried. Check in was easy headed to Room 307. Actually it was a suite, two huge beds, each equipped with shower etc, then the was the kitchen a living room and dinning table. In honesty 6 people could fit just fine. Everything was clean and well appointed. The the was the view from the balcony ( looking directly at the very green hill was nice every morning. Plus you are in the middle of downtown Queenstown. So you are proximal to grocery store and restaurants. The staff I dealt with mostly was super helpful, she even helped me book my day flight to Milsford Sounds ( must do). Now it was a little pricey and a little noise since Room windows open to a road. But all I needed to do was close the window and noise dead down. Thank you for great stay! Keep it up!

the hotel was everything we wanted. this was our second visit, the first was two years ago at the same time of the year, but this time we were celebrating a special 50th wedding anniversary. when we told the staff about our celebration we were met with such kindness which was excelled in our meal on valentine's night in the beautiful panoramic restaurant.we use accor hotels frequently in france and are always impressed with their cleanliness, so keep up the good work and perhaps we will be able to save enough for an air fare to return again next year from the u k. i would recommend the panoramic restaurant to everyone it was super! we think it must have the best views in queenstown. on the downside (if you can call it that) we were disappointed that we were not able to add any a -points as we booked on line and used an agent but we did get agoda points!

Coronation Inn was a pretty wooden hotel. The staff were very friendly and willing to help with any questions or additional room items. Our room consisted of a queen and full bed with enough space for three people to move around. There was no ice machine, but the front desk would provide some if more ice than the small tray in the freezer was needed. There was a bit of noise from neighboring rooms, so the sound proofing could be better. We could also hear the pop of fireworks from across the lake but unfortunately could not view them due to the trees in the beautiful park across the street. The park was peaceful and allowed for a quick, steep walk to the city center. There were no elevators, so be prepared to carry any bags up and down stairs. There is a car park beneath the hotel as well which is also only stair accessible. When ordering an Uber, we had to direct him around to a different side of the hotel for pickup as to avoid the steps. Overall, it was an enjoyable stay.

We had an interior facing room on the 6th floor, which means the window went into a space between different hotel buildings, offering no view but perfect quietness. The room was very large and clean with 2 double beds, a sitting area off to the side and a corner with the fridge/tea making facilities through which to access the bathroom. The bathroom was modern and clean. I particularly liked the fridge without mini-bar, giving you space to chill some of your own food and drinks. We did not eat at the Park Regis. My only nitpick would be with the Internet. In 2015 you expect free wifi in any motel, and certainly in a 4-star hotel! The Park Regis offers wifi only in the lobby and at dial-up speeds. In the rooms you can get wired Internet for $25 per day. Only when I inquired about the Internet at check-in, the staff did not tell us this, requiring us to visit one of the close-by Internet cafes in the dark of night. My wife would not been comfortable doing so by herself considering there are several massage parlours and night clubs surrounding the hotel.

The only downside to this b&b is it's up a steep hill from town but taxis are pretty cheap from downtown - we walked, even upon returning from the 5 day trek at Milford Track, carrying our stuff. We immediately relaxed with friends on the patio with a fabulous view of town and the lake. At 5:30 we were treated to wine and beer and appetizers. Followed by more appetizers! Louise, the owner, and the staff were friendly, helpful, accommodating and fun, and gave us great suggestions for restaurants in town. The following morning they served an outstanding breakfast, including the option of smoked salmon instead of bacon as a side. Eggs Benedict was delectable! Our room was clean, spacious, and bright, with an outstanding view. I was initially concerned that the front window couldn't be opened but we had plenty of fresh air from the side window. I'm not sure about the business use facilities, such as wifi and fax, etc. so I didn't give it an excellent rating for business travel. (Wifi can be tricky to access most everywhere in town, 'tho Patagonia seemed to work best and is free if you purchase chocolate, coffee, ice cream, etc.) This b&b even has laundry facilities 'tho we didn't use them. A little pricier than some places, but with the food included, a very good value!

Just one of the Best hostels I have ever stayed at in my 5yrs of travel and especially for New Zealand, was very happy to see it really embrace the use of Te Reo Maori, Maori art and culture, as well as it's LGBTQ friendly sign out the front. The staff were very friendly and professional, and welcoming. They were also very helpful. The lounge is spacious, clean, well set out and has a beautiful view of the Lake and the mountains, the kitchen looked clean and new. The Dorms were spacious and the private pods are an awesome idea, with a light and a charging section in each and a curtain to pull over the bed.. just awesome, There is Free Soup, which is delicious, hearty and flavourful, and in the morning a decent continental breakfast, beds are comfortable, large, pillows are quality and big. Great location, close to town but a little bit away enough to be quiet and away from the sound... just amazing... Thank you and I def recommend this Hostel... Nothing bad to say at all...

Highly recommended! The location was great. It is just less than 5 minutes walk to go the centre. And the view from our room was amazing! The staff were very accommodating and friendly. This hotel has a kitchenette which is a plus as most of the hotels do not have this facility. We cooked our breakfast and dinner so we were able to save on cost. The location was so good that we can just stroll down every night at the centre. And as our activities are just around the centre- Gondola, Coronet Peak, TSS Earnslaw, Shotover Jet and Onsen Pool (which has a courtesy shuttle,),we do not need to rent a car as this hotel is just a few minutes walk to the centre. Great location! I

This was my second stay at this motel. Friendly, professional staff. Room: clean, spacious, warm, beautiful view of The Remarkables and Lake Wakatipu. Well equipped kitchen. Skiing: more convenient for going to The Remarkables for skiing. Bus stop across the road.. If going skiing, the hotel location is better suited to the Remarkables than Coronet Peak. The NZ Ski shuttle bus picks you up on the other side of Frankton Road. If you have to be there at a certain time for ski lessons, it is best to book the "hotel bus" for NZD 35. The other option is the express bus which is very likely to be full in the early morning trips. If you want to use the express bus, you should walk down to the Snow Centre in town and board the bus there. Location: Can walk downhill to the town centre. When walking back up to hotel, it is best to walk up Coronation Drive, not the main road (route 6A is too steep). Locker for skis in garage. Laundry facility available.

We loved our stay at blue peaks apartments, it was perfect for our group. Weeks before our stay, I kept emailing them requesting to get a lake view unit and when we got there, we had an awesome corner unit with a great view of the lake! We were all amazed! The apartment was very clean and spacious and had everything we needed, specially a good AC heater. It is fully equipped and couldn't ask for anything more. The only cons is that one of the toilets had a broken lock which locked up one of our friends inside at 11:30 pm! The staff was able to attend to us quickly and had to break down the door until we got our friend out. We were just thankful it wasn't my friend's child who got locked up otherwise it would be a whole different story. The guy was very apologetic which we appreciated. We just hoped we could get a later check out time but our request was declined but we understood. Other than that, we were very happy with the place and would definitely choose this for our next visit :)

We stayed here for 3 nights in a 2 bedroom motel room. The park is about a 5 minute easy walk to the city centre, extremely clean and the staff are so friendly and helpful. The views of the mountains from our room were beautiful. The only downside was the room was not well heated. Plenty of blankets and electric blankets, 2 heaters but still a little cold. Everything else was amazing.

Enjoyed the comfort and lay-back style of the hostel. Extremely well run. And the hygiene (particularly of the kitchen)was extremely regular and first rate (provision of continuous supply of fresh tea towels - a blessing!). My rating overall : 9.5 out of 10. One comment I need to make is in relation to dormatory windows (the metal arm holding the window in a fixed position could be classified as a danger; they are at eye level, and could constitute a safety hazard (eyes). Please see what alternative you could introduce! The dining room, I found to be a little congested (an extension, I feel, could be of great advantage with the high visitation rate of your Hostel!). The only single (personal) negative - was that someone saw fit to steal my new pair of 'Asic' running shoes !!!!!!! I (and my family) look forward to a return visit to Lake Wanaka in the relative near future. Wishing Management and Staff the very best; and I thank you for your hospitality.

This hotel located perfectly near the city 'hotspots' including the Dunedin Railway Station, George Street (shopping street and many restaurants), The Cadbury Factory, The Octagon, Otago Settlers Museum, The First Church of Otago... There were 2 big supermarkets (New World and Downtown) nearby so that we can safe money for food by buying foodstuffs from those supermarkets.

Stayed in 3 bedrooms apartment for 3 nights. Modern. Very comfortable stay.Great view. Perfect stars watching right at our balcony. Free Wifi. Big screen TV with discovery and pay TV channels ( free for us). Further away from city centre, so not crowd or noisy, but that means have to use taxi, cost about $ 12 each trip. Right by lake side, very steep to walk. narrow driveway, even the taxi took us back had his side of the car scratched. Can improve with more supply of tea & coffee and toilet roll, feel embarass to go and ask for more toilet roll and other supply, especially at night time. Overall, very modern, nice and comfortable apartment

It would be great if it is cheaper! Staffs are highly effective, nice and have a good smile Facilites - 5 stars ( room 4 iron is not okay at all, please check it.) other then that, it is good spacing for car parking, coniventent for parking area which is very close to room, good sound proof from other rooms and outside, good observable lighting signal for driver to notify the motel locaiton Just the shower room is a bit too hot and the air seems not flowing when taking shower after closing the glass door

We spent altogether seven nights at the Hurleys and loved every minute of it. We want to say thank you to Erica for being extremely helpful and going in out of her way to keep our baggage while we were travelling and making it easy to return even when the reception was closed. The facilities are lovely, the gym is pretty good and the sauna new and clean. We loved every single thing about this little hotel and would certainly go back. Thank you eveyrone.
