This is a gem in an otherwise overrun by hostel and low budget hotel island. The cabins are updated, comfortable, clean, and have beautiful views (either beach/lake side or garden). Wild Waves Surf House is one of the best places we stayed on our trip so far. We ended up staying longer. Gianni is very helpful and caring for his visitors. The place is right on the beach and very close to the surfing beaches. The rooms are cleaned every day and there is a good kitchen to make food. Franklin was a great host. he provided cheap and great dinners and breakfasts as well as arranged a guide last minute for me to climb the volcano. the room itself is basic, no hot water, but it was good for the price.
This place is ok but really not that cheap for what it is. The rooms are small, The wifi is really bad and it's extremely noisy, we had issues sleeping everynight. As it is located in the party area, the very loud music goes on till late. I wouldn't stay there again but it was ok if you are into that kind of stuff. The staff was nice though.
