Too Hot during Summer”
At the end of an exhausting day, we were hoping to come home to a cool and comfortable room. Our first 2 nights had 2 ACs in the room, which was OK but when we transferred to a different room on our 3rd night, the room never got cold. In the different hotels (hostels included) we have stayed during our Central Asian trip, we never encountered this problem. For the price we paid, we were expecting a working AC to have a good sleep. They transferred us to a different room but the AC was cooler by maybe just one degree. I did not have a comfortable sleep because it was just TOO hot. They said they were fully booked. The hotel's equipment/ facilities badly needs upgrading. Washroom sinks have stains and toilet seats have cracks, it actually pinches my thighs. Also, there's no coffee in the room. Just tea. We booked 3 nights because of the good reviews. But we were really disappointed during our stay. The people at the reception were very pleasant; but with an old hotel, the kindness of the staff will not make up for it.

In fairness, buffet breakfast was abundant, and they kept on refilling food even if it was near the end of breakfast time. There's one day we had to miss buffet due to an early outdoor activity. They prepared breakfast to go--half a sandwich, a fruit, yogurt, and a bottle of water. I believe they could've provided more. We booked 3 nights because of the good reviews. But we were really disappointed during our stay. The people at the reception were very pleasant; but with an old hotel, the kindness of the staff will not make up for it.

Helpful Staff and Nice Hotel”
This is a very nice hotel, probably the nicest I stayed at anywhere in Central Asia. The staff were very friendly and helpful with getting taxis and otherwise making my trip to Almaty easier.

New , clean, spacious , centrally located”
Very comfortable hotel, renovated in the past few months and looked absolutely new and tidy. Twin room is spacious and got all the facilities you can name ( tv, bottled water, iron, working table, small fridge, kettle, dryer etc). Buffet breakfast has different selection of food everyday and with good varieties, the decoration of the restaurant (carpet) looks nice too.5 mins walk to the Zhibek Zholy metro station ,with many restaurants besides the hotel. There are 2 currency exchange shops right opposite to the hotel. Also 5 mins to the Zenkov's Cathedral but it is currently close for renovation (May 2018). 10 mins walk to the Tsum Supermarket.Taxi to the airport is around 1500tenge .

Good Place to Stay in Almaty”
Good sized, well equipped room with prompt daily cleaning. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Included breakfast was good and the restaurant/bar food and drink is reasonably priced. Location is good with the shops and parks close by.

Nice, clean , comfortable hotel”
Clean, good size room, very comfortable bed, rich of amenities, and variety of breakfast, the restaurant for dinner is much better than other restaurants we tried in Almaty , good quality of steak. Location is very close to Zenkof Cathedral and many restaurants nearby, walkable distance to Arbat shopping street. The weak point is just slow wifi.

All the people at the reception... like Ms. Sayora and support staffs like Mr. Kairat... great people. Not only do they speak English, they go out of their way to help their guests and yes, that means around the clock. The only problem we faced : We requested for a single King Size bed and got twin beds. The Hotel rooms are very spacious and the sheets are fresh. Breakfast was excellent. I definitely look forward to seeing these folks soon. Thanks
