Exceptional”
This was our second visit to Riva having stayed in November last year. The detail to attention is superb and is fully deserving of its 5 stars across all categories. The staff are incredibly helpful and friendly nothing is a bother. The cleanliness and comfort of the room allows for a great nights sleep. Thank you to all the team for another very enjoyable stay.

Classy and an up beat vibe ”
We had a night to spare and combined the Riva with a visit to The Hill House. It was an amazing day and evening. The soft bed was very comfortable and the facilities were great. We went for a package with a cooked breakfast and it was very good. Apparently all guests get a continental breakfast that was not clear from the website or booking service.

Relaxing hotel. ”
Super modern hotel with nice decor. Very friendly staff at reception and also in the bar. Superb location in Helensburgh for food /bars and walks etc. Breakfast was continental choice although I was surprised there wasn't a cooked version on offer I was satisfied with it. I'll be back again for sure.

An OK stay”
We stayed for 1 night, and were given the wrong room to start with despite showing our confirmation on arrival. When visiting the room, this was not a sea view room, per my confirmation so we were given a different room which did have a sea view after showing my confirmation again and being told for the price we had paid this wouldn't be a sea view room!! The room was lovely, however extremely warm with the temperature unit on the wall showing 27 degrees and the radiator being on full when it was 17 degrees outside. We went out for dinner and upon returning to bed down for the night we had no sleep with the bed being very soft and low down but the reason for the lack of sleep was the extremely bright green emergency exit light over the door. I understand that this is required but I would suggest eye masks are provided instead of the in-room slippers that we didn't use. Breakfast the following morning was ok - aside for we were asked how we would like our eggs, where we asked for scrambled, and they sent fried. All in all an ok stay but we wouldn't rush back. We weren't even asked if everything was ok with our stay so left our key at the empty reception desk.
