The 1st 5 stars hotel in the world asking for additional money to access the pool, every thing expensive, even for the car park they are asking for money! The room very very old, u can see by yourself, cleaning not as 5 stars, the view amazing this is the only thing they have. NOT RECOMMENDED, i would pay a little extra and go to movenpick.

Excellent”

I was hesitant to book this hotel due to the reviews. Then I calculated the 83USD I paid would well be made up with 2 x 2 days of pool entry (I only stayed one night, so could use the pool the day I arrived and the day I departed) - pool entry is generally around 50USD per day for two. The pool has been newly renovated - except for the music being slightly too loud, it is a beautiful pool, the staff are really happy, friendly and sociable (I find other pools the staff rude)... As for the hotel room, I didn't expect much - but I was pleasantly surprised. There were some cookies upon our arrival in the room, the bed was soooo comfortable, the room was really nice (maybe touch small but very nicely decorated and renovated)... I would definitely stay here again and definitely recommend this hotel (as long as the price is good - probably wouldn't pay over 120USD per night though....

Beirut and the Riviera”

the location, the lounge bar & gorgeous pool

The Riviera is on the perfect location: you are within a walking distance from the city centre (Hamra & the souks of Beirut) and the nice area of Raouché. Cross the road and you will take a long, nice walk along the Al Manara pavement. Go to the pool and you will never want to leave the place! Lounge music with live DJ, cosy comfy deckchairs, sunbed and jacuzzi beds, tasty cocktails will make you forget you are in the heart of a vibant, changing and hectic city. Call a cab and you will reach the best shopping/yachting/clubbing/dinig areas in less than 10 mn. To put in a nutshell: the hotel is close to everything: airport, business centres, shopping areas, cultural sites, trendy or traditional streets - without the noise!

Good location, own beach resort, great breakfast, friendly staff, clean place, good value for money.
Needs refurbishing, Great hotel but I would classify it as a 4* and Not a 5*. Wireless internet not too expensive but signal is weak & drops out frequently.

Enjoyed my stay in this great hotel, the location is great, it's own beach resort is great, not far from downtown Beiruit ($2 - $3 by taxi). Do not use limo service use taxi instead. Staff very friendly but hotel is old and more likely a four star type. The breakfast is great, selection is good. I would definitely stay here again. It is good value for money.

Facility expenses ”

The hotel is amazing it self but if you are ready to pay for facilities separate while you already paid for the room like for a 5***** hotel. They charged us separate for swimming pool without providing towels plus the person that was in charge has 0 english knowledge and the attitude towards the guest is not really pleasant. I was pissed off when I found that they charged us for swimming pool facility and didnt provide towels by asking for extra charges on top of that which basically they rip you off. I live in dubai and they dont do such things over here once you pay you can access all the facilities. However I understand they inform the guests about it but at list if you are charging us make us feel satisfied.

Run down everything”

Hotel looked good had lots of character and chic boutique feel. The room however was the worst room i have ever stayed, ever. - Toilet was something from the 1980's, very poorly designed, sink was cracked, black marks all over the edges of the bath tub, old old fixtures, toilet paper roll always jammed - Balcony window cannot be locked so always feared someone else could steal my things (there is a safe, just to note) sofa outside without cushion -Bed mattress was good -Bed wasnt fully covered -TV was a cheap tv - the were steal plugs coming out of the wall, very visible (possibly from another tv that was hanging on the wall prior. -House keeping didn't clean the old glasses well as there were liquid marks at the bottom ***please note that i didn't inform the hotel of my issues, i only left my clothes there as i had no time to waste arguing and also checked into another room for 3 out of the 6 nights booked.

The 422 I was granted smelled smoking all the way and bed was dirty and the whole room felt like old and not fit of riviera reputation. I asked to be changed no room were available . May on the reception was extremely polite and supportive but nothing she could do . I checked out a day earlier though all money was already paid for two nights I spent barely one. And I still didn't understand the deposit taken, this practice is so vintage and not in use already over many years now

amazing pool area on the "beach" accessable through the hotel and free of charge, directly on the coast
rooms are a bit older (but clean), no gym, a bit away from downtown

Depending on the expectations, this is a good value for money hotel. Not exactly the service and offerings you'd expect from a 5* western hotel, but definitely in the range what you can expect for that price

Good location but not worth the price”

Friendly bar man, comfortable room, good pool views

Comfortable room and amazing ocean views with sunken pool bar and DJ. Poorly advertised in agoda - we booked a premium room with access to the lounge (that did not exist at the time). Very pricey for what it is - would have worked out better to stay in a cheaper hotel and pay the $25 entry to the pool area. Also, there is no beach as advertised. Expensive valet parking. Would not return or reccommend the hotel.
