4 notti trascorse purtroppo il cattivo tempo non ci ha permesso di fare molto. la stanza e' semplice ed economica, il bagno piccolo ma la doccia e' ottima. il costo della colazione, mangiare ed bere contrastano con l'economicita' della stanza.

scommessa vinta! mi sono fidato dei commenti letti di altri ospiti e devo dire che el galeon si è rivelato un buon punto di appoggio per gli spostamenti (più o meno lontani) da sabang. peccato solo che - non disponendo di una grande spiaggia (quella esistente è praticamente un passaggio) - non è possibile godere appieno del posto con rilassanti nuotate.

Dive Puerta Galera”

El Galleon is a very good choice for scuba divers staying Sabang. The staff is awesome, the food is really good, facility is clean and well equipped and well managed... the owner obviously cares about his property. EG is situated close to the Asia Divers office and dock away for the congested part of Sabang... which is a real convenience. I go to PG for the diving... EG hotel is a really nice facility to launch from.

Great personalized experience”

It’s hard to imagine a better GM than Allison. She truly cares about her guests and creates an extremely personalized experience. Her creative, resourceful and efficient problem solving is what made my stay great. It’s not easy juggling divers with disparate skills and interests but she did so beautifully. El Galleon’s poolside economy rooms are simple but private and everything works. The fridge and kettle are a nice touch. The wifi was strong and consistent in the room and the restaurant was extremely accommodating with special requests. The setting is terrific - close enough to walk everywhere but far from the craziness of Sabang. Thanks again for a great stay.

Diving operation is world class. ”

It's the home base of Asia Divers Padi training center. High individual attention with high volume of divers/customers. It is also 20% more expensive. Food and Beverage is terrific in the main dining room. The rooms are expensive considering the age and general state. Many pension houses offer better @ 1/4 the price. It's a happy place. And that's unlikely to change.

Ex-Cellent”

Great location on Sea front with a great dive shop, facilities and dive team. On the resort front the restaurant front great range of meals and wines to set your appetite running. Dive experience was fantastic with a broad diversity of dive sites.

Relax and diving ”

Nice and competent diving center and resort personnel. Sherly perfectly organised and coordinated my transfer from and back to Manila, and took care of everything. Diving center is well equipped, Instructors and dive masters and competent and helpful. I really enjoyed diving with whole the Team, and wish to stay longer :-). There is a nice sea view from room #1 in first line from the sea. Everything is simple, but quiet and nice. Worth to go for lazy relax and of course diving in several beautiful underwater spots.

Great location, rustic”

It was priced almost the same as the other hotels in Sabang but this was, by far, the most worth it. It can be considered pricey by some but we were more than satisfied after staying at another resort 2 weeks prior. It is located far enough from the dirty Sabang pier and the little boat dock transforms into a charming bar at night. The food is pricey, but some of the dishes were good for two (like the porkchop). Brekky dish was a little lacking like the bacon. The pieces were few and dismal. The room was adequate and acceptable but at least we didnt have to lug our stuff up 3 flights of stairs. Bathroom is also adequate and acceptable. Rooms were clean enough but not exactly spotless. When you are beachside, I dont think that's possible with all the sand everywhere. Staff were nice enough and curteous. Restaurant was spacious and beachfront, very charming. Pool was usually used by divers, but we weren't interested in swimming in the pool anyway. All in all satisfied and would definitely make this my go-to home when in Sabang. Oh, will try the massage service next time.

One of the best in El Galleon”

I've been to El Galleon multiple times and 70% of the time when I go to Puerto Gallera I would stay with them because of the following reasons: Food is superb, Price is right and the service is great. I just brought friends over the weeekend, they were so glad to be there.

Good for diving, solid bars and restaurants. ”

I booked a stay via Agoda for a budget room, but received a poolside room, which was a nice upgrade. The room was nice, with a huge closet (actually too big for a room this size). I wish the TV had worked a bit better. The room is entirely functional, although it appears a bit old. This hotel is fine for its intended purpose: providing a place to sleep or otherwise relax for divers or students of diving. I ate almost every meal in its restaurants; if anything, its portion sizes are too large, but tasty and affordable. I would recommend this hotel without reservation.

Metropolitan escpae”

A brief one night stay in an ocean view room to escape metropolis. Centrally located between night life bay of Sabang and nice beach bay of Big La Laguna. Room was fairly basic, but due to location rustic would better describe it. Very peaceful and relaxing being low season and due to typhoon remnants could only get from Batangas to Sabang via Calapan on the larger ferry. Journey across the island take 1½ hours in a sardine packed minibus at 200 pesos, or 2000 private and will only get you to Puerto Galera, with tricycle the rest of the way on unmade road! High tide may cut you off from reaching the bay by foot, but is all part of the adventure

Perfect weekend getaway”

This was a perfect weekend getaway. It was easy to reach within 3hrs from Makati and the 3hr travel was definitely worth it. We enjoyed the food and especially the buffet breakfast. The dive shop is well set up and very organised. A very enjoyable weekend.

Nice hotel, good location”

The hotel is nicely located on quiet Small La Laguna, which is a welcome change to Sabang beach, although only 5 minutes walk away. The swimming pool is very nice and refreshing. The room (standard, by the pool) is simple yet very comfortable. Make sure to bring moskitoes repellant though, as they're all over the place, including the bedroom! Antoine, the French chef is worth chatting with, as he is quite a caracter!

Excepțional”

W had such fun staying here and learning to dive with the Asia Divers team. I would fully recommend getting one of the sea view rooms, they're so cute and you're just that much closer to the beautiful water. I'd agree the rooms might feel a little dated, but we were really only sleeping in the room so it wasn't a problem for us. The bed was comfortable and the room had AC to combat the heat. If you are spending time in the room, rather than by the pool or on the beach or under the water, then there is a TV with a good selection of channels. There is also Wi-Fi available, which seems rare in the Philippines. The restaurant offers a good range of meals, though the portions are quite large, my one change would be to offer a "diver bites" menu with smaller portions for those who are about to go diving or between dives.

Average stay. ”

Staff receptionist seriously does not know the departure time for the ferry back to Batangas, as we left early and it was the wrong time. A huge hassle getting to Sabang as the port was closed. Terrible infrastructure. Food...nothing to write home about. Average stay, would stay elsewhere next time.

Good location / Older Hotel”

Centrally located, but older hotel that could use some maintenance. Over all good for Sabang area. I had a bit of an issue with bangka and taxi back and forth to Manila, make sure they understand your needs.

Watch your gear”

I had a pokey stick attached to my BC with a retractable clip. It was a rental BC so the staff would clean it and put it in my locker. I forgot about the pokey stick so after lunch I went back to look for it and it was gone. I never found it again. I had to buy a new one with the retractable clip and when I showed them my receipts, they would not comp me a dive or even just comp me the rental gear. Also, if you take the ferry, beware that in bad weather the small ferry boats will not go out. We had to go to the ferry at Calapan which is two hours away. We waited 12 hours to get a ferry. Do not go there! It was an awful experience! It is probably better to wait for the weather to improve and take a small ferry when you have no waiting instead of waiting your whole day outside.

great resort with a great restaurant and attentive staff”

El Galleon is a nice well kept resort on the beach. the rooms and buildings are made of native wood, bamboo and rattan. it feels like you're in Bali or Fiji. but the staff makes it authentic filipino. the location is not too far away from the ferry terminal and the nightlife. the restaurant has a great chef that makes delicious food. they also have a breakfast buffet, Indian buffet and Mongolian wok buffet. we stayed at the poolside room and it has nice amenities like a small ref, a small closet, and a small safe. we will come back and stay here again on our future visits to Puerto Galera.

Acceptabil”

Location - Seaview is nice, but bit far from the town, the way back from town dark... receptionist is not friendly..., Facilities - a lot of flies! when you have lunch in their restaurant.... Hotel DOESN'T include any drinks even the 2 small bottle mineral water that put on table .. ** at 1st i though that was complimentary but, everything is chargeable, advice that you could buy your own drinks is more cheaper

Nice place, though on the pricey side. Mixed feelings about Asia divers”

Great food and good service. The room was fine with an excellent view of Sabang bay, although at $110 per night it was on the pricey side. Asia divers was PHP 1,700 per dive plus equipment hire. They have a good range of equipment and the staff are friendly. Our diving experience was clouded by the fact that we had rain during our stay and so visibility was not great (5-8m). We did 5 dives over 2 days and felt that the sites we dived at could have been better selected. Eg, the first two were very close to each other and so quite similar. Later dives were decided by what other people had done, or were more interesting for people taking pictures, which we were not. This was probably because they often used 1 big boat for 2 groups of divers going to the same spot. Our dive master on the second day was not particularly attentive to us after admitting that he had had too many magaritas the night before, so I guess that explains it.
