An amazing hotel, rooms are beautifully designed and equipped for your stay. The bar with a dj is very welcoming. And the restaurant is outstanding, breakfast in the morning was exceptional and the staff were very friendly and would do anything to help. Definitely be coming...looking for Christmas time.

What can I say, hotel, staff and location all great. Drinks in Refuge are most definitely worth a visit! Room was really lovely, air conditioning worked ( visiting in a heatwave it’s essential) room well kitted out. Our only complaint is our room (207) had a connecting door to the room next door and the other guests staying there could be heard talking so clearly, which isn’t their fault but at midnight and 6.45am wasn’t appreciated. Overall it hasn’t put us off and we would definitely return soon

Great location , very friendly staff and big rooms. Make sure you book the restaurant in the hotel for the evening early as it gets very busy but there are plenty of places nearby to eat at as well. Breakfast is plentiful and well organised with a great selection. Will definitely visit again

This hotel is stunning all the way through, the building steeps in history and is so grand. The breakfast in the morning was out of this world, so much to choose from, buffet style hot and cold, also a menu you can pick off to have something special at no extra charge.

A friend and I recently stayed here for three nights. The hotel is located in the centre of Manchester within walking distance or a short tram ride of many attractions. The hotel is beautiful, having been converted from a former, and rather grand, assurance company building. Upon check-in, we were actually upgraded to a Premium Room as the University of Manchester Doctors’ Ball was going ahead that first evening and staff didn’t want us to be disturbed. Very thoughtful. The room was spacious with all the amenities one would expect but an umbrella, dressing gowns, bottled water and free snacks (crisps, wafer bars … replenished daily) were nice touches. We had free breakfast (worth £23 or so each) with Agoda and that was a definite positive. Breakfast staff directed us to a table and the food was superb. A good variety, from full English breakfast to fresh fruit, cereals, croissants and make-your-own toast. Staff overall were friendly and professional; particular mention should go to Marco on Reception as he spent some time describing places to go with a map. Hotel highly recommended.

Amazing stay over pride weekend. Arrived early as our original flight was cancelled and put on an earlier flight. Tara checked us in and gave us an early check in. Hotel was beautiful. Breakfast was amazing. Will definitely be back next year.

Fabulous hotel!”
As soon as you walk in to the dramatic reception you will be wowed! Our room had 2 double beds & 2 huge flat screen TVs. The complimentary tea & biscuits were best we've had (posh crisps, penguins & KitKat's!) Only downside (if I'm being picky) was ceiling lights had a few cobwebs & revolving bathroom mirror had fingerprints on. But nothing that would spoil a fab stay here!

Classy hotel right next to the Oxford Road station”
Principal is one of the iconic building in Manchester, the interior design is comfy and classy. The breakfast is a buffet type and the variety is good. The room is modern and the ceiling is super high in my room. The location is very nice, it is just opposite to the Oxford road train station which you can connect to the Manchester airport. But if you consider the only shopping mall in Manchester City, "Arndale", is the Centre centre, then this hotel is a little bit far from there, but as Manchester downtown is not so big, it is still in a walkable distance of around 15-20 minutes. If you are a visitor of the University of Manchester, it is a good choice as it locates at the same road, Oxford road, of the university. Supermarkets such as TESCO and Sainsbury, mcdonalds, pizza express, Caffe Nero are available in 1-3 minutes walking distance. 10 minutes to the National express bus station where you can connect to many other cities of UK.
