L'edificio è a metà strada fra un castello di Ludwig di Baviera (che era pazzo!) ed il castello di Disneyland. Per lo meno originale e comunque abbastanza divertente. Stanza spaziosa con grande bagno tutto di marmo con doccia e grande vasca (ma senza rubinetti). Arredamento alquanto sconcertante, con molti velluti e grande baldacchino decisamente kitsch ed un po' stile bordello (non manca una luce rossa sul letto, del resto la prostituzione ed il diving sembrano essere le attività più diffuse a Sabang!) Ogni stanza sembra avere anche una grande nicchia con statua religiosa (il sacro ed il profano). Se avete l'auto è disponibile un parcheggio di fortuna in un cortile di una casa vicina. La reception ci ha procurato una barca per una escursione di snorkeling. Il prezzo piuttosto competitivo (prenotato con Agoda) non comprende la colazione che è invece relativamente cara. Abbiamo cenato solo la prima sera perchè il ristorante valeva poco. E' facile trovare di meglio fra le decine di ristoranti di Sabang.

Me and 4 of my friends stayed in this hotel last May 17. We booked Family Room with 2 double beds and requested for 1 extra bed. Our room was assigned in a very back end of the hotel which was a bit scary because we were only the people check in that area. We requested to be transferred to a room near the pool. The receptionist helped us immediately. We were transferred to the 3rd floor with the view of the pool. The pictures posted on the Agoda website is very different. All pictures were posted looks like taken when the hotel is still brand new. The wifi and telephone to your room were not working. As I read previous comments from this hotel's past guest, looks like the wifi has been the issue a long time ago. Even if we were at the reception area wifi cannot be connected. The receptionist just reasons out that they have a problem with their service provider. I guess we got what we paid for. Many many times, I've walked past this hotel, so I was intrigued to wonder what it would be like to stay here,and I wasn't disappointed, my room was fantastic, a wonderful comfortable bed, and a nice bathroom, the one negative was to pay extra to use the bathtub

Fantastic”

If you are looking for middle range & affordable resort. This resort might suitable for you. Overall, It was a pleasure stay in Tropicana Castle Dive Resort. Resort 1st floor has a ocean view & one small pool good for beginner to learn to learn the scuba diving. The only thing that need to improve is the Wifi signal was weak & the lift was not working, guest who stay in 1st floor and above have a hard time to climb up & down from the castle especially carry their luggage to the room.

Accessible Location w/ Reasonably priced restaurant ”

The hotel is walking distance from Sabang pier. You can immediately discern the place from afar because of its castle-shaped feature. The hotel room is huge and comfy despite its oldness. The staff are helpful and friendly.

A gem of a Hotel”

Love its idiosyncrasy..........not to everyone's taste Its Dali meets Gaudi meets Ludwig of Bavaria. Quite one of the most extraordinary places in the world, let alone the Philippines. It reminds me of 'Burden of Dreams' or more probably something in Werner Herzog world.

Stylish”

I extended my stay here. Really stylish, even though it has seen better days. The 4 poster beds are great to sleep in and for a hotel like this the bathrooms are really big with a very roomy shower. The pictures in the rooms are very interesting too. Pool is a bit small and can only really take about 5/6 people. I did not eat often at the hotel but breakfast was ok

Design”

The design of this place is amazing, very different to anything that I have stayed in before in Asia. You can spend a good hour wandering around the building. Good view off the top, though it is a shame there is no longer a restaurant up here. The rooms have an amazing design with large very ornate bathrooms and some interesting pictures on the walls. Bed was a proper four poster.The in room safes are good as you can use the padlocks they provide and your own as well.

Ok place... bur be careful”

Internet goes on and off. Hotel falsely advertises free Nitrox -- they charge. Bad scuba boat, bad motor and bad boatman. Elevator does not run on generator, so get room on 1st floor as the stairs are steep and awkward.

Great location and good size rooms”

A short walk from boat, the biggest hotel on the resort, looks great too. An unusual design for a hotel on a Filipino island, but it works. It is a big hotel with many floors and worth exploring. It is well kept and clean. The hotel is easy to find from arriving on the boat from Batangas Port, just a 3-4 min walk. I was surprised at the size of the room, it was very large. I had to remember the bed was high from the floor level, so don’t fall out. The bathroom was fitted with a big bath, but couldn’t be used due to government water restrictions, a big pity.

Good hotel except for hot water problems”

I'll start off by saying I won't stay here again. The main problem I had was with the hot water. I took a shower and little or no hot water came out. I complained to the front desk and she was rather cold about my complaint. They said they fixed it but the hot water again sputtered. I stayed at a cheaper hotel my first night in Sabang and the hot water there was much better. The Tropicana front desk staff were also not that friendly, and the hotel is supposed to be one of the posh digs in Sabang. Other than that, it was a good hotel but I'll try Mermaid across the street if I ever go back to Sabang.

This place is not your ordinary hotel. I came to took a lot of pictures of the place. It actually became a photoshoot for our family. The room was huge. Unfortunately, to be able to use the bathtub/jacuzzi you have to pay an additional of 500php.

Could be better”

I loved the castle but it has seen better days. I hope they renovate the place a bit. The beds are nice and the rooms are huge however its components are falling apart. The fridge was not working, the TV is very old and the power outages are horrible! Imagine being in a large antique-styled room with no lights and AC. It was inconvenient and scary! Every time the power went out i had to run outside because i couldn’t stand the pitch black darkness. It was suffocating and creepy. They should at least have emergency lights or candles ready. Other than that it’s a nice place for what it’s worth.

Needs work but still good value.”

Having stayed here some years ago, we decided to revisit recently. Maintenance must be a nightmare in a place like this. It appears that this has lapsed a little in the ensuing period. Biggest problem is the noise from neighbours who again partied into the night or were excessively noisy early in the mornings. Staff were great and very accomodating. Food in the restaurant could be greatly improved. Overall i would say that the hotel is very good value but if I travelled to Puerta Galera again I would probably want to stay in the White Beach area.

Totally shocking behaviour by staff ”

I must have stayed here 5 times in the past but sadly never again No hot water for the first 2 days then the last 3 days when had no water despite the staff telling us it would be ready that night ...lies and more lies We had to beg a bucket from the cleaning staff to flush the toilet with swimming pool water for the last 3 days carried up 2 flights of stairs as the lift was broken It’s time you invest in your hotel Paul and get the place in a decent condition as it’s falling down Get a decent manager in as you are not upto the job anymore....standards have slipped to shocking And your front desk staff are useless liars

High quality at an affordable price, almost perfect!”

When I saw the resort when we arrived in Sabang, I was stunned how it stand out among the other buildings with its castle-like structure. You can see it from the beach when you arrive to Sabang via Ferry. The resort is just a few minutes walk from the port. Entering our room, the Kingsuite, I was at awe on how big the room was. The curtained bed is fit for royalty! Every corner and details are intricately designed and well-thought of. They provided us with basic things like slippers, small towels, face towels, toiletries and even an umbrella. There's an electric kettle too for our morning coffee. The bathroom is huge! There's basically 3 parts of the bathroom, the shower area, sink & toilet, and the bathtub. The bathtub is gorgeous. Unfortunately, we weren't able to use the bathtub in our 2 nights of stay there. It is not indicated here in Agoda that there is an additional fee for the use of bathtub. But they've put a memo on the wall informing the guests that a small fee of P500 is needed to use the bathtub. We understood why we need to pay for this facility since freshwater is a scarce resource in the area and electricity for heating the water can be expensive. And we are so willing to pay for this since it is so worth it. The fee includes whole day use, bubble bath and scented candles. But when we are about to pay for the bathtub, they informed us that they still need to ask for an approval from the owner and it will depend on the current water supply. At first, I was informed that it was already approved. But after some minutes when I went down to the reception to pay and get the valves for the bathtub, they've reversed the decision since the water supply went down :( It could have been so nice to have experienced this. The resort also provides free WiFi access to guests but unfortunately the signal is weak inside our room and according to a staff they were having network problems at that time that is why the internet was slow. Stayed here a couple of times and although the tvs are small and the reception is not so great the rest of the place is cool, with a pool to swim and just up the road from the port, will stay here again in future

Unique design to take photo, nice location”

The outlook of the resort is very unique and attractive. You can take a lot of nice pictures there. Location is convenient. The room is nicely decorated, but the aircon in the room is really too old, it makes a lot of noise and is not cool at all. One thing not so good is the wifi, no signal in the room.

Big bathroom”

I always stay here when I go to Mindoro. I personally like this place because the bathroom is large. I just don't like small bathrooms even if they are pretty clean. The only problem I had this time is that the toilet didn't always flush properly so I had to add water to the tank manually, and the shower's water wasn't always hot enough. But overall especially considering the price this place is well worth it for me. It's clean and the service is good, nice staff.
