Great location, friendly staff. Clean and comfy. Bit aged and dated but that's the style. Nice breakfast. Can't fault it really. Will stay again. We loved Bath, so much to do.

Great location and service ”

This hotel had so many positive points the staff where helpful and friendly, the room though compact (I did reserve a small double) was exceptionally clean and well laid out. I asked or a quiet room and apart from the pigeons on the roof at 730 am (can’t really blame the hotel for wild life) was quiet for a hotel locate some the main road. Breakfast was superb and I got a good inclusive deal. The only negative is that the shower though hot had very poor flow. The location is superb opposite the train station entrance.

Great vintage hotel in city centre with presonality and great staff”

The hotel is located in a beautiful Bath Stone building within walking distance of city centre's shopping and sightseeing areas. The rooms are traditional, very comfortable and clean, although there is some squeak in the floorboards which become quite noticeable as you walk around the room (perhaps trying to be quiet if another member of your family is sleeping :) ). The breakfast service is excellent, with a buffet of fruit and cereals, and a menu for made-to-order cooked breakfasts. The staff are friendly and provide excellent service. There is limited off-road parking around the corner if you reserve it first, for a small charge, although if the lot is small and parking can be difficult if there are several cars already there. There is a public car park about 3 minutes long the road, and you can buy a ticket for the following day on the night before to save you having to get there early.

Jean and Stuart from UK”

We stayed in a 'small double' room which may have been small but it was very well equipped and had everything we needed for a short stay so was good value for money. Be careful if you book the car park: there are only 6 spaces and the last one is really small especially if all the other cars are large. The staff however are very helpful and knowledgable about the area and can recommend an alternative.

Beautiful hotel, very helpful and welcoming staff, and excellent location - across the road from Bath Spa train station and five-minute walk from city centre. Due to location there was some 'night-life' noise but not loud enough to keep us awake! Breakfast was outstanding.

It’s alright ”

The hotel had more of a B&B feel to it when we arrived, receptionist was very nice, checked into room on second floor, rooms are nice, a bit dated, floors creek like mad but it is an old building, locks on door hard to lock and unlock. Breakfast was nice although not overly keen on the sausages. Bar area was good with a good selection of drinks and staff were nice. Located opposite Bath Spa train station, across the road from Debenhams which is at the bottom of the high street so all in al not a bad location. I would recommend but I don’t think I would return, I think I could find something nicer and cheaper. Friday and Saturday cost £305 but I will be honest and say we did have the last room which was a family so effectively I paid for 3 people to stay when it was only 2

Royal Hotel”

We had a wonderful stay at the Royal Hotel in Bath. It is very conveniently located right next to the train station, making the location very good for us. It is also so close to a lot of the sites of the city. The highlight was the breakfast, which was absolutely amazing! We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in Bath.

Old charm with mod cons”

When you walk into this hotel, you think Poirot will turn up at any point. It's a 19th century hotel brought into the 21st century without losing any of its old charm. It's quirky and comfortable and very friendly. If you want to stay in a hotel with a character that you will remember, right next to the train and bus stations and the city centre, this is the hotel for you. The breakfast is excellent, and they also have a bar and a restaurant that serve food during the day, so you can just come 'home' for dinner after spending the day exploring.

Not having heard of this hotel or having stayed in Bath before we had a open mind on what we would find. We were very pleasantly surprised, we were greeted very warmly and professionally, in fact all the staff were very, and good very helpful.Only 3 points we found slightly irritating but perfectly understandable:- a) insufficient parking places b) Lift very small (could only take 2 passengers) so we had to wait quite a while to be able to use lift. c) The sausages for breakfast were bland (a very petty detail)
