Great location to go to Taroko Gorge as well. A little farther from the coast if you're looking to go to the beach, but a fellow traveler and I were able to bike to the coast no problem in about 20 minutes, with an amazing view of the water and mountains!

This hostel is run by volunteers which stay short time like 2 weeks and have no knowledge of hospitality. They welcomed us with "what do you want" attitude. No one is at the counter most of the time and almost don't see other guests in this hostel. The electric socket beside my bed did not work. There was weird smell in room and bathroom. Cleanliness was so so. No towels provided. Extremely fast internet inside room.

Pro: Price - by far the cheapest option in Hualien, location - in a nice quit neighborhood but still close to the main station (pls. Be informed that you have to take the backside exit NOT the main exit, kitchen can be used, free drinking water and coffee / tea making facilities. Cons: stayed 4 nights - on 2 days nobody cared for the rooms. That means not even the trashed was taken out.... In a 10 bed room. As well it seems like they could improve a lot with daily cleaning and taking care for the house

Air con wasn't working well when we checked in but they got it fixed immediately so that was the only slight issue. Other than that, highly recommended!

We were asking for one towel but got charged 40 NTD for rental. No chairs or table in the room. We were at fourth floor and doesn't have bathroom in the room (the bathroom located at 2nd floor. Very inconvenient! Won't choose this guess house next time.

Good, although the location was a bit far (5,10 min walk from railway station and 20min walk from city centre). I was staying with 2 uni,students from taiwan and mainland and had a good experience communicating with them. The facilities including the toilets were clean. Can sleep quite comfortably in the hostel. I am not sure of the price in other hostel so i have nothing to tell in this area.

Tres bon accueil du staff malgre le chinois ! L auberge est calme et coloree. La chambre est grande et propre. Des toilettes auraient ete appreciees au 4e etage.
