it's a home stay with very friendly owners. they made the effort to drive me to the city centre and introduce local food and night market. they even offered to drive me to the train station the final morning for my next leg of travel. located near to the train station with the West entrance.

HOME AWAY FROM HOME”

This home is spick and span. The owners, Mr & Mrs Dai/Ms Liang are so helpful, accommodating, pleasant, friendly and just fantastic. They went out of their way to send us to the railway station, helping us with the luggage right up to the correct coach! This they did after booking the train tickets and train bento for us two days earlier. They also gave us a lift to and fro for breakfast at a local, well established place of serving breakfast since 1952!! They were able to help us book a day tour for us. And what a surprise to be given a big box of fresh cherry tomatoes and we also had time chit chatting. Thank you very much Mr & Mrs Dai. May God continue to prosper you in this endeavor.

perfect.living here just like live in your own home. the host is kindheartd.my fellow do not feel good after sailing.they give us their thermometer in early morning. and will drive us to eat delicious breakfast. room is tidy .soundproof is good. you will have a good sleep .bed is big enough for two persons.I will choose to live here next time

Wonderful little guesthouse!”

Can't give more than 5 stars for staff and value for money, but I definitely would. The family that runs the guesthouse were so incredibly friendly. They arranged train tickets and drove us to the station and were willing to take care of any other little thing. They speak very little English, but that was not an issue. Smiles are all you need. They really couldn't have been nicer. Highly recommended.

We were welcomed by the owners warmly. The owners introduced interesting places around the area to us as well as booked a trip to Taroko National Park for us. The lady owner even led us to a night market nearby by cycling although it was raining. They prepared fruits for us to eat. The room was clean and the mattress and blanket were comfortable. We most likely will go back to this homestay the next time we visit this place.

Madam Liang and her husband, Mr Dai are very helpful owners. Mr. Dai picked us up from the train station. The place is quite a distance from the train station, maybe 15 mins walking. Also it is not so straightforward if you are a first timer coming to Hualian. Mr. Dai offered to carry our luggage to our room at 3rd floor. The room is very clean and spacious to my surprise. It is the cleanliness place I have stayed so far in Taiwan. There is a huge balcony which can be accessed from our room. Madam Liang was kind enough to lock the other door entrance and left the whole balcony for my husband and I. On the day of our arrival, we were welcome with a big plate of fresh fruits. They offered free bicycles to us to travel around. It is easy to travel with bicycle in Hualian, however for those not used to travel on road together with other motorists, extra cauctions shall be taken. Road signs and traffic lights signals shall be paying attention to. If there is chance to come back to HuaLian, I will definitely stay at Friend's Home again. Comfortable & homely stay”

It was a comfortable and homely stay. The room and toilet are clean. The hosts are very friendly and hospitable. The uncle even provided us with extra transportation service to the night market and places near the house. However, it'll be good that you have a license to ride a scooter as public transport isn't very developed in Hualien city. We advise you to call the couple's phone number listed in Agoda and let them know your estimated time of arrival as the couple will come and pick you up at the train station when you arrive.

Super Nice Host”

The hosts were very friendly, gave us rides to places even after we checked out. Provided local information and offered to help all the time. Although no breakfast, the host drive us to the breakfast of our choice. The room was clean and spacious. The bathroom was not connected to the room, but it will be remodeled to be connected by Feb 2015. The only thing was periodical airplane noise, but I think it's unavoidable if you stay in the city.

Booked my 2 night stay in hualian, purely base on past travelers many positive review. The old couple will make you feel at home, always ready to lend a helping hand and suggesting itineraries. The place is also 5mins away from the railway station. I would strongly recommend this home stay to anyone who is looking to visit hualian.

Excellent Service”

Clean, big, affordable minsu”

The place itself if quite hard to find. If you are coming from the train station, you have to exit the station from the back. Roads are quite confusing but my partner and I took a cab anyways. Arrived at the Minsu and Uncle says that we was waiting for our call as they DO provide pickup from station. Greeted by extremely friendly aunty who insisted to carry my heavy luggage up the stairs. We stayed at the 3rd floor (double room) and the room is HUGE. Very nicely decorated , new and big TV , along with a balcony. There is also a guest book on the shelves. So don't forget to input your entry. Aunty brought us some fresh papaya which is very kind. It was my partner's birthday the next day and I had planned a dinner at Dos Tacos. Aunty immediately said they will take us there. Again, a very kind gesture. The only down side was that the room we booked has no connecting toilet. The private toilet is outside the room. It was still alright since there was no one else and we could (shamelessly) make use of the area outside our room to have hot tea etc. We left a bag of brown sugar tea meant as a gift to uncle and aunty. And they called agoda to inform the item being left behind.

Best hotel so far”

It is a definitely a perfect experience for our stay in Friends' Home. The landlord is very friendly and helpful. We cannot believe they provide such clean and luxury rooms with so cheap price. If any my friends want to visit Hualien, I would recommend this hotel to them. Perfect staff and perfect facilities!
