Our room is clean & comfortable. The kitchen, laundry & common area are good. We can park our bicycles safely here. The host is professional & efficient even though we just communicated by whatsapp. We strongly recommend this place.

Clean and tidy house. Lovely frontyard. Facility instructions are clear. 5 mins by motorbike to city center. 2 mins by motorbike to 24h laundry.

The place was empty. I was the only guest in the whole building. I wanted to stay longer but I was told that "it's full, there are no bed available." I don't know what's wrong with them.

The hostel is centrally located in town”

However, this fact only applies if you have rented a bike or a hired a driver as the train station and Dongdaemun market is a 15-20min walk away. Else, taxis are easily available even as early as 4am in the morning if you plan to go for a early morning excursion at Taroko Gorge such as going for a marathon event.

Character”

I only stayed 12 hours in the dormitory(mainly to rest after travel) so my comments are limited to this short experience. Property is a little far from the train station(over 1km) but easy to find with Google Maps and only a single backpack. The place is dated but has character with lots of rules stuck up on the walls, along with perhaps the owners personal collection of bits & pieces. The dormitory has a musty smell. Recommend if you are easygoing, travelling light and not looking for 5 star comforts. The hostel was empty when I was there, did not meet any traveller at all in my 12 hour stay.

I stayed here for five days and then extended my stay three more. Annie the hostel manager is incredibly welcoming and very helpful. She gave me lots of great tips on things to do around Hualien. The rooms are well lit, with balconies attached, and clean well maintained bathrooms. There is a kitchen that is available to use, and free washing machines. Overall I had a great stay! Thanks Annie! :)

Great location, cool vibe”

This hostel was in a good location (near a nice Taiwanese breakfast place and a park), definitely had a surfing vibe to it, was fairly clean, and had nice and helpful staff. The only negative thing is that the water gets turned off at night and there was some funky water at one point, but this might have been because of earthquake damage.

Convenient location... But cigarette smells linger around if you have smokers staying there. They smoke outside by the front gate but the open air layout wafts much if it back in the place. Owner is nice.

Nice but a bit far from the station”

The hostel is cosy, quiet & clean with nice decoration but a bit far from the train/bus station (between 15 & 20 min on foot). If you have a car or scooter you will be fine. But if you are walking & taking the shuttle bus to explore the Taroko gorge (that starts at 7 am) you might find it a bit far. Nonetheless, I really enjoyed staying here.

Very nice hostel but a bit far from the bus station”

This hostel is very nice, clean & quite. The decoration is also cool & my dorm was comfy, spacious & with a balcony. It is still between 17 & 20 min away by foot from the train/nus station. Which was a bit far when I had to walk everymorning to catch the 7 am bus to explore Taroko National Park. It's ok if you have a car or scooter. Annie, the hostel manager, was very kind. I would recommend this place to anyone with pleasure.

Really enjoyed this hostel! Very central location, right near the train station, local food street and a really cool temple. The rooms were very comfortable and the hostel decor was very cool, great atmosphere. Very good for a clean and quiet nights rest.
